Great communication and were very accommodating especially as the purchase of our new house wasn’t a smooth one due to personal circumstances but they team there worked with us through every step and help get us our dream home. I didn't end up buying through Chancellors in the end, but Jordan showed me several houses and was always friendly, professional and easy to communicate with. He was punctual, kept me updated and made the whole process straightforward. Even though I found a property elsewhere, I genuinely appreciate all the time and effort he put in and would happily recommend him to anyone looking for a property

Particular thanks for dealing so effectively with the solicitors for both sides and eliminating what can otherwise be somewhat stressful.

30th Mar 2026 (10 weeks ago)Richard Cottrell I decided to sell my building plot and knowing the excellent service Jack and his team provides at the Grove office I spoke him. He suggested I contacted James Merrifield at there Oxford branch to discuss my options. I felt very confident with the advise he gave me on the sale process so I instructed him to proceed. like all good sales things did not go as planed, but James was with me 100% of the way sorting all the obstacles to achieve the sale. A big thank you for your help James and the professional service you provided. I would highly recommend Thomas Merrifield.
9th Jul 2023 (2 years ago)Would not recommend this estate agents. I had to chase them for feedback every time (however, only had 7 viewings in 4 months!) didn’t hear from them at all for 7 weeks! NO communication at all!! Arranged viewings with totally unsuitable prospective buyers (e.g. a lady with an electric car who wanted to install an electric hook up when there is no driveway-on street parking). Felt forgotten about as the office wasn’t in our town. Worse than disappointing.

7th Feb 2025 (1 year ago)After minimal success with our first Agent in selling our house, we chose to move to 'James Gesner Estate agents' due to their knowledge of Wallingford and the surrounding area and specifically one area. Having the team represent our sale, and then to find us a property in the area we were looking to move, I would comment that James and the team were exceptional. The data (marketing report) that they provide against the sales element was informative, the viewings that they conducted, were very professional and the correspondence was always relevant, and always available. James is very knowledgeable where it matters and worked tirelessly in supporting both the house sale and purchase, and I felt that he really went above and beyond in providing a great service and doesn't seem to switch off by providing updates whilst in Mexico. James Gesner Estate Agency will certainly be first on my list for any House sales/Letting.
21st Mar 2026 (12 weeks ago)We called twice and on each occasion left a message so that the responsible person or team could get in touch regarding a property valuation. On both occasions call-backs were promised but never happened. It seems they can afford to turn away potential clients and business. We will now use other agents.

6th May 2026 (5 weeks ago)The Rental Team especially Malcolm Goes are the most professional team of letting / property management people that I have come across. I used to be in this industry many years ago and know what it takes to provide a full service and to have happy tenants and landlords alike. Everything was well explained and nothing was too much trouble for Malcolm or the rest of the team. Malcolm has excellent local knowledge and was even able to offer us advise on village activities including the up coming beer festival at the village hall.

Great experience, which continues through the conveyancing process- 15th May 2026 (26 days ago)As a first-time landlord, I expected clear communication, professionalism, and competent management. Chancellors/Oxon Property Management failed on all three. They were responsive until the paperwork was signed, but after that communication became slow, inconsistent, and unhelpful. Payment issues went unresolved for months, and staff regularly contradicted each other with different information. Their poor handling of the tenancy and failure to clearly communicate key requirements ultimately left me out of pocket at the end of the tenancy. Overall, an extremely frustrating experience. I would not recommend them to any landlord looking for a reliable managing agent.

19th Feb 2026 (16 weeks ago)Please avoid dealing with this agency . we rented a flat with them, there was a leaking from the above the property , we reported the issue , they did not even took the time to come and have a look into it . Very terrible experience, please avoid dealing with them. for a few dust, they are charging us 155 , a big SCAM. This agency does not deserve any star . our daughter was sick twice in this property . dehumidifier was on 24 hrs On . until now, we did not receive our deposit. We raised a complaint but they come back to us with bla bla without a resolution. We are planning to take to ombudsman
