4th Jan 2025 (12 days ago)Found them very very poor on communication, extremely slow on processing sale. 6 months, empty house and we were chain free. Knew very little about the property on first viewing. Just all round pretty unenthusiastic considering how large the purchase is.....
30th Dec 2024 (17 days ago)We used Wrights estate agents in East Cowes when we first moved to the island nearly seven years ago. At that time, Jess was the agent we dealt with and she was brilliant. So when we decided to sell our house, we chose the same agency. How times have changed! Initially, everything was fine. Adam valued our property and soon found us a buyer. But after we accepted the offer, interest in the sale seemed to fade and certain things started to go wrong. There was a lack of communication. We received very few updates and those that we did, came as a result of us having to call into the office. In Adams favour, when the need for action was identified he dealt with the situation in a calm and professional manner. But overall we felt that customer care was not high on their priority list. We lost the first sale but Jane soon found us another buyer. So I have to congratulate them on that aspect. However we again had to chase things ourselves and as in the first sale, communication after the offer had been accepted was poor. We received no updates from them in the days leading up to the exchange of contracts, and nothing from them after they had been exchanged. A simple phone call saying congratulations would have been nice! In fact the only conversation we had after the contracts were exchanged, was a very brief one as I went into the office to hand the keys of the house over on the day before completion. We were never prompted for a review from the company but we felt we should give one anyway. In summary: We felt there was a lack of communication, customer care was poor. Updates were far and few between and the whole experience left us feeling disappointed. So, if your looking for an estate agency that keeps you updated with the progress of your sale, communicates with you on a regular basis, and leaves you feeling that its not all just about the money, then perhaps you should consider another agency.

17th Apr 2024 (8 mo. ago)We had to pay up front for marketing / photos etc but initially were not told this until we signed. Viewings were minimal & feedback was always so positive until 24 / 48 hours later when the buyer would become totally disinterested. Prior to the final viewing we were given so much positivity & such a build up but the buyers didn’t even enter our property!!! A completely waste of everyone’s time….the buyers were SOLD clients so the agent must no exactly what they wanted in their next home??? Overall very very disappointing, a great team but a waste of our money & a waste of time & energy!!!!

18th Mar 2024 (9 mo. ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!
24th Oct 2021 (3 years ago)I am unimpressed, and encountered unexpected issues that were not detailed in the survey report. A window in the ground floor property was had to be fixed as an emergency on the day of arrival due to security issues and risks. The window was stuffed with tissue and foam, and the hinge was broken, so could not be closed, or put on the latch. The windows were rated as needing repair or replacement in the future, no further detail was supplied or suggestions of needing to be repaired of replaced straight away. In addition to this they did not identified mould in some of the rooms. I would not recommend this company do not use them.

Kim was amazing and kept us informed throughout the process Dave was lovely and came and met us with the keys. I cannot thank you enough for everything you have done for me and my family would highly recommend them

We are so happy with the result and thank them so much for their professionalism and support. We would highly recommend them and we use them again if the opportunity presented itself.

Liam was extremely knowledgeable, clued in on the local area and how to market the property to its best effect. The property was uploaded Thurs evening and by Monday afternoon, e.g. 4 days later we had received 6 viewings and an offer over the starting price. This experience far outweighed our expectations and Liam is a real pro in an industry that can been seen as somewhat cut throat. Liam set realistic expectations and over delivered on those expectations. I would highly recommend The Agency UK as a result. Thank you ????
