4th Sep 2024 (20 weeks ago)Recently sold my property through smiths and friends and initially very impressed. The lady that valued it was very professional and helpful and the man who took the photos and video did an excellent job. The after sales however was a different story. Hardly any contact after it was sold ..no updates, I was getting more info from my buyers and my solicitors. On the day of the sale my buyers solicitors had forgotten to send their money resulting in a huge delay. I was 20 Mins late dropping My keys off and I had a very shirty joy (aptly named) ring me to ask where I was as my buyers were waiting !! Er not my fault !! Walked into the office to drop the keys / hostile environment .. no asking how it’s gone etc. then went to pick my keys up from Northgate for my house - totally different experience - greeted with a smile, invited to sit down, asked how it went, given a welcome to your new home goodies box … it’s the little things that count. Considering I spent just short of £2.5k with smith and friends I felt that they took my money and ran and for that reason I won’t be recommending.
15th Oct 2024 (14 weeks ago)I recently rented and sold a flat with bridgfords Washington and unfortunately I’ve been left very disappointed with the service provided. Bridgfords were noticeably more expensive than competitors (I.e. 40% premium on other estate agents) and the service provided when selling the flat was poor overall. When I’d call their offices I would either not be able to get through or would be promised a callback which wouldn’t materialise which was very frustrating. The sale of my flat took 10 months with no chain and it realistically shouldn’t have taken anywhere near this long. A lot of the delays were caused by unresponsiveness either by bridgfords or by their recommended solicitors (which were also unresponsive and expensive compared to competitors). This poor service was disappointing and could have largely been avoided. Without emails/calls chasing there were weeks which would pass when nothing progressed. I was advised by bridgfords to end tenancy (2 months notice) as I was under the impression that completion was imminent, after tenants moved out the flat was empty for nearly 2 months which increased unnecessary costs of owning the vacant flat. Unfortunately at this stage I wouldn’t recommend using bridgfords.
30th Oct 2024 (12 weeks ago)Talking from a landlord's perspective, did not have good experience from start to finish. Multiple issues when tenants were in and even unresolved issues 3 months after tenants left. Would not recommend as a landlord. UPDATE: Nicole from Chester-le-street branch has been helpful. Managed to sort out issues after speaking to her. Main problem is with Reeds Rains central management team. Unfortunately, Chester-le-street branch is attached to the central team and lettings management are done under central team. Hence bad experience overall despite good branch service.

All of the viewing have been done, the offers collated and we have received email and telephone communication throughout the process. We are pleased we chose Reeds Rains, Durham.

I received feedback on viewings and I was kept up to date throughout the whole process of letting the property. The team are excellent and I would have no hesitation in using Ben Charles again in the future.

18th Mar 2024 (10 mo. ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

The property and listed within a day with the listing showing the property to a high standard. Any problems the tenants have in the property Jack is quick to come to a solution and informing myself quickly.

Let Property on the other hand connected my property to one of their contacts who already had a criteria in place. Easy as that.
20th May 2024 (8 mo. ago)BP Auctions have been anything BUT easy to work with. We’ve been chasing for updates on the sale of our property for weeks with no response. Every time we manage to speak to someone on the phone, we’re promised a call back that never happens. No one responds via email, and the whole process has been painfully slow from start to finish.

1st Feb 2020 (4 years ago)We found Your Move - Houghton-le-Spring to be a very professional and efficient estate agency. From first contact, the valuation, photography, brochure preparation, first viewing and receipt of an offer for full asking price took less than 3 weeks. Sales Manager Rachel Smiles was especially helpful in giving advice on content of the sales brochure and her friendly staff in arranging the 2 viewings by first interested party. We would highly recommend this agency to value and sell your property quickly at its true market value.
