After the 'big sell' by Jamie Tyler, his recommended asking price was never going to be realised. The sub-mediocre marketing effort by Alexanders only delivered a 0.072% conversion rate of first viewings from 2,313 online viewings (four actual viewings). From the four actual viewings, I converted one into a second viewing (25%). If you are considering Alexanders to market your property, ask them about conversion rates and don't accept Jamie's estate agent's misrepresentation- look elsewhere but, "buyer beware" wherever you go.... Absolutely fed up with Mail from your company regarding the selling of my deceased mother’s property. It’s stressful enough having to sell the property after someone has died without being bombarded with 4 letters over the past few weeks. You’re too pushy trying to drum up business. I needed to have my ID verified for the completion of a house sale, I visited several solicitors and estate agents in Loughborough for this very straightforward process and they all refused to do so because I wasn't a client. No such issue with Alexanders, all done very quickly and professionally, and I wasn't a client. But if I need an estate agent in future they will now be my first choice. I warn any seller to avoid this agent. I sent an enquiry via Rightmove to view a property including a list of my availability for the next week. James Kirk, the managing director accidentally copied me into an email (which he sent to all of his staff, criticising me for daring to provide my availability on my initial request). When I pulled him up on this and said I would let their vendor know about his poor conduct towards a potential buyer because it impacts on them being able to sell, I received a lot of threats, deflection and no apology from James. Safe to say I no longer wish to view the property and feel sorry for any vendor of Alexander’s because James is potentially losing them viewings. I have requested to make a formal complaint to the company and no-one has contacted me yet. In fairness to the agent, a very professional Senior Negotiator called Yvonne telephoned me (she was unaware of James’ subsequent emails to me). However as a result of James’ conduct towards me, I have no interest in viewing any property market by this agent. This is the worst attitude I have come across by any local agent. A simple acknowledgement of his error and an apology would have gone a long way. I am shocked an agent would want someone like James working for them. I am more than happy to discuss my experience with James with either of the partners.... Read more

WARNING about Natalie at Alexanders If you intend on buying a property with Alexanders and Natalie is the agent then walk away. Put in an offer 3 weeks ago. Still had no answer either way, called on 2 occasions chasing, first time to be told. "The world doesn't revolve around you". Then the second time (14/04/23) "you have clearly never purchased a house before". Baring in mind this would be my third property. I would warn anyone against using this very unprofessional person.... Read more

After feeling let down by another estate agent service, we have found Alexanders to go beyond their remit in helping us to sell our property, source our new property and complete on our new home. What was a tricky process was made that much more smooth by the team at Alexanders, in particular Tom and Nick. Excellent communication, transparency, advice and support - I will definitely be approaching Alexanders again should I need to sell a property in the future!... Read more

Having had numerous problems with Alexander’s Estate Agent I spoke to the Senior Partner, Tom, before posting a negative review. We have arranged to see numerous houses and every occasion we have found their staff to be disrespectful, rude and pretentious. My partner found herself being interrogated on whether she could afford the property (not just asking a question). Suggesting on a separate occasion as a woman she couldn’t view the property as she couldn’t make a decision for herself etc. There have been numerous other examples. Tom left a voicemail as I was not available to take the call and I can fully understand why his staff have the attitude they have. We are being held to ransom over negative feedback…… no, your being given the opportunity to discuss the negative multiple experiences we have been subjected to. The subsequent call with himself only confirmed the position. He justified some of the attitudes we had experienced based on the fact my partner had offered on two properties significantly below the asking price. I ended up putting the phone down on him twice. Heated conversation would be an understatement. Just for anyone that is in doubt as a “potential buyer even £750k we are not a customer in any sense AND Alexandra’s owe us no respect in their communications or manners. They deal with properties at the upper end of the market and supposedly need to act in this manner….” Thankfully all the other estate agents we have dealt with over the last two years don’t feel the need to talk down to people in order to sell houses. IN RESPONSE TO THE COMMENTS MADE BY THE OWNER COMMENTS BELOW I did not make any foul mouthed, derogatory or bullying comments, in fact my whole call was based on the disrespect that Tom and his staff had shown towards my partner over a period of nearly two years or every property she inquired about. In fact when asked what I wanted I suggested I didn't wand an apology or any form of grovelling I simply wanted a level of respect from himself and his staff going forwards. I did not hang up in a fit of temper I hung up because listening to an arrogant 'manager' of a company of such a disrespectful estate agent shout at me and fail to show any intelligence or empathy to the situation was not a good use of my time. There were certainly no sexist or bullying comments from myself or holding to ransom. As someone that owned a very successful online business for many years I was aware how frustrating it can be to receive negative feedback from customers without first being given the opportunity to resolve the matter and as such I do not look to act in such a way myself. Tom failed in his clear lack of experience to take this on board and let his personal arrogance get in the way of resolving this in the best possible manner. In regards to suggesting that if I have to provide proof of funds (which as mentioned was was certainly not a problem) before the estate agent would even arrange a viewing then I would expect given the history that they would collect this information when passing my residence (within two miles of their offices) was reasonable. I can understand estate agents asking for this prior to accepting an offer BUT before making a viewing? Tom also claimed this was a probate property and they were carrying out the viewings. Why would the vendor therefore give this instruction? They don't care how many viewings there are as they are not carrying them out themselves. Seems like estate were not acting in their clients best interests by limiting the amount of viewing they had to carry out. This is a separate issue and we are looking at referring this to the regulator. If Mr Alexander would like to personally get in touch I am happy to discuss let him listen to the answer machine message left by Tom and the second call I had with Tom.... Read more
