Leaders Estate Agents = Shocking. My property manager leaves the business (that is ok), but no one takes over management, I pay Leaders to manage my rental property, and no one is doing it. It is a scandal. Furthermore, my property required re-painting, Leaders recommended BC Decorators (from Leicester) BC then drip paint on my floorboards, my carpet, paint is bubbling, and Leaders do not care or attempt to resolve it with BC Decorators (photos attached). How is this good property management? My advice, go with another property management agent, do not choose Leaders (and never choose BC Decorators to paint your home!).

My family and I have just relocated from London to Loughborough, and before Leaders, Tori, Tara and Mary we had, had a really bad time even getting appointments for viewings. We needed to make the various agents know that my son has an assistance dog to aid him with his disability and every single letting agent between Melton Mowbray and Loughborough had let us down as soon as they heard dogm it was automatically NO PETS!
One other agency had us waiting over a month for a possible viewing then suddenly no more viewing were taking place! I spoke to Leaders and they bent over backwards for us, we hadn't even met until the day we needed to collect the keys to our new home. Everything was done over the phone and via email. The service we recieved from Leaders goes beyond the scope of a simple review, GOLD STANDARD.
I can't praise them enough.

Miserable service! Instead of facilitating communication between tenant and landlord, they act as an actual roadblock. Service requests lie pending for weeks and no one cares despite repeated calls/emails. Annoying as we tenants cannot fix the issue without permission from landlord nor does this agency act on urgent requests. Will stay away from this agency for future lettings and would not recommend them to anyone.

I have edited my review twice now so thought it made more sense to start from scratch. We as a family have had a terrible experience with this particular Leaders. During 2020 we were leased a property which they claimed we couldn't view in person due to COVID but sent pictures and advertised as unfurnished including outside shed and garage. Upon arriving at the property with moving van in tow we arrived to find a house COMPLETELY furnished with nowhere to put our property. We had to cancel the moving van and rebook at a lot of extra cost and as a "solution" leaders moved the household items into the shed and garage leaving us with no storage. We sought compensation to no avail, however after escalating to the regional manager Clare we were assured that we wouldn't get a rent reduction but they would hold the rent for the 2 year tenancy and not increase at the year one mark as standard. Had some awful experiences until Iara stepped in as property manager and everything seemed resolved. Fast forward over a year and we start receiving threatening emails over non payment. Both our previous manager Callum and Clare have left the business and aside from "notes" and recorded calls have not informed anyone about the price freeze. I have spoken to credit control and Iara numerous times regarding this to be informed not to worry and its getting sorted yet the threatening emails still keep coming about nonpayment and third party action. Not only this but Leaders have now failed to inform us about the landlord leaving their services. Genuinely have not had worse customer service from a company and I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. Avoid.

I was going through several consecutive frustrations on trying to find the ideal home with other agencies and the problem has ended when I met the agent Mary Neale, who helped a lot to find me the most suitable property for me and my family. Shameful. Rented a flat through leaders last July, all was fine for around 2 weeks until it started leaking literal urine from light fittings in all rooms. Landlord didn’t care so tried to get some help from leaders who didn’t care either. Began to leak on monthly basis but tied into contract so what can you do. Fast forward to this July, 12 months of leaks, damaged property and time off work to try sort out and I’ve handed notice into to leave flat. Leaders wasted no time getting viewings in, without giving me 24 hours notice and telling me I needed to be there as they didn’t have keys. Was told 2 times in the morning the following day only to be phoned the next day and told it was one in morning and one of afternoon. Also, got an email to ask why none of my lights worked (because they were so water damaged!) and why I had damp patches. Showed them the videos and photos of leaks and explained it happens on a monthly basis only for them to rent it out to somebody, knowing about all of this! Just goes to show they don’t care about tenants! Honestly thought better of them as move in process went well but shown true colours. I guarantee they knew about this prior to me renting that flat aswell.

This company has been sending letters every month to my house to let it out.
Next door is a property converted into four flats.
I have asked leaders to stop pestering me they have explained that they let some of the flats out next door this explains why new tenants next door are parking on my private drive. I have asked leaders on four occasions to sort this out to know avail they are useless very inconsiderate.

I have had a great experience renting from Leaders the past two years. Our property manager Jade Brasiewicz has always been amazing and ensures our repairs and queries are dealt with swiftly. The only thing that could be improved is that when my rent was due to increase nobody from Leaders alerted me, however I was aware myself anyway and increased my payments myself but for tenants who might not be as aware a reminder would be helpful. Otherwise absolutely no problems, I’ve always been kept well informed of things and found the team and Jade in particular very helpful, friendly and professional.

I have been dealing with Jade in the management of our property in Shepshed. She has been a star. We have had a few maintenance issues where in our opinion the contractors were over charging, She was happy to look for and find more affordable solutions. She oversaw the maintenance issues to completion. Jade has been one of the few property managers who has always kept us informed of what was happening; both good and bad news!!!

Called to book a viewing on a room the process took a little long than I would have liked but I liked the property so I waited to get a viewing which took around 2 weeks to get once I got it I went to my viewing to find out the room was already taken and the landlord wasn't renting it out so after all this it just ended up being a waste of time leaders seem professional but definitely need to check what they are actually letting out

I would like to say what a asset Jade Brasiewicz is to Leaders Loughborough branch, she always gets back to us quickly, is polite and helpful.
Unfortunately we are not happy with Leaders as a letting company, over the many years they have managed our property we have had issues with Leaders accounts department who are a law to-themselves.
The tenant who has just vacated our flat, left without doing any cleaning of carpets, oven, hob and extractor hood. Left the shed crammed to the roof with his rubbish, damage kitchen door hinges, left the laminate flooring in the kitchen damaged with a large worn area, water damage to the bathroom laminate floor and bath front panel, The whole flat has had to be redecorated due the the mould and dirt on the Wales etc, we have had to replace blinds due to the tenants lack of ventilating the property. Leaders would not take anything from his deposit straight away, as the tenant claim the damage was fair wear and tear! which is ridiculous, we are having to wait on the third party deposit people to decide how much we will get back, this is weeks after the tenant left! I can’t understand how when 4 months ago there was no mention of the damage to the floors etc when Leaders did a check on the property yet now the tenant can claim FWT!
This has totally put us off renting out again with Leaders (unbelievable Leaders have let this man rent another property from them, I pity the new landlord.
I have no problem with Jade or Ben in the Lettings department who are both very pleasant people trying to do a difficult job.

The worst renting experience of my life. Since day one and one month over the end of my tenancy, I have been facing several different issues with Leaders. The flat was gorgeous, nothing to complain, but every single issue we faced was leading to a never ending exchange of calls, emails, lots of time wasted, and no solutions.
The overall problem is that the employees keep changing and the new people are not qualified for the job. I would honestly not recommend Leaders Loughborough.
Additional note: as no British person, I have felt ethnically discriminated by Leaders multiple times, and I had never experienced this with a renting company before.

Jess Parker in particular is an absolute super star and always went above and beyond to support with a timely completion - nothing was ever too much trouble for her. Julie and the rest of the team have also been brilliant and they have been very responsive, friendly, and professional throughout the whole process. Once you have Sold STC you are allocated a dedicated Sales Progressor from HQ and Yvonne played a key role in chasing solicitors both times I used Leaders. Five stars all round!

I originally posted a 5 star review stating how good the front office staff had been. However since then myself and my family have been put through nearly 3 months of hell.
Three days after picking up the keys for of dream next home and new start everything was shattered. Despite us getting confirmation in writing and on our application about decorating the rooms the landlord decided to not allow this to happen. Then leaders tried to make out it was done of our own back. Yet missing that fact it was in our application because if the horrid dirty state of the house. We also requested because of covid for the property to be cleaned professionally. Apparently this was done but mud on floors, disgusting downstairs toilet provided once again more lies.
Raising this with leaders we were made to feel like peices of garbage. To the point we refused to continue with the tenancy on the grounds of lies span to us just to ensure that we proceeded with the property..... With no actual care about our family requests and needs. Leaders kept blaming the landlords, then us, a real stressful and upsetting mess.
Weeks went by of arguing trying to get our money back for the month rent we paid upon the grounds mentioned above, and I might add we never even got to move are stuff into the house.
Falses promises extended delays and conversations of being told the problem had been escalated.... 2 months after collecting the keys for our new house and the returning the keys we got the balance of our month's rent back. Yet the money we paid for our decorating based on the written confirmation by leaders which they have been provided with..... This is something they still deny and have no responsibility for. Even better than that they state the landlords are there clients not the tenants...... Whow the worst agents I have ever experienced..... Please do not use these agents.. They bring shame on the industry and have no morales and deny all duty of care. You have been warned.... Don't make the mistake our family did. Never use Leaders!!!!

I must single out Anna Burton as a very efficient operator. I was "locked down" in Kent at the start of the pandemic, and therefore cut off from normal contact with what was going on in my property. Anna quickly brought me up to date, and has continued to keep me informed, so that I feel confident that everything is being attended to.
Anna is extremely conscientious and eager to solve any problems arising as speedily as possible.

My partner and I have used Leaders for around 5 years now. We’ve had a couple of issues with the property. The first bit of contact wasn’t the best but then Anna Burton got her hands on it and it’s been nothing but hassle free since! She is amazing!! Not only does she give the professional approach but she has a sense of humour and understands people. It’s never a hassle for her answering your call even when she is clearly quite busy. Emails are responded to quickly and with the information I want to hear!! Even more so with this shoddy year we’ve all had. Leaders should be extremely proud of Anna and look after her .......... I reckon a bottle of Prosecco would go down nicely! Keep up the good work Anna!

My Move in was made incredibly easy and welcoming by the team who were responsive to each and every email or question.
I was presented with an amazing Welcome Box on arrival with little things like biscuits, wine and other really lovely things that made my first night a lot more enjoyable.
I recently had to leave for a few weeks with work and accidentally left food out on my kitchen table, which would have left an awful smell on my return. I emailed the Property Management team and got a prompt response from Anna who, without even thinking about it, was kind enough to access the property and dispose of the unwanted smell-creator before anything unwanted had developed. I just received an email saying it had been taken care of. Incredibly kind and professional.

but you cant expect someone to go 3 days without heating or hot water in winter the conversation should of never happend in the first place.
no medals for a practice that should have been as i was told (top of the list) only until i said it was unlawful to make someone wait over 24hours.

Not only were these issues not resolved for over six months by Leaders or our Landlord, we have also received no financial recompense for the inconvenience caused. I'm going to be as factual as I can. Everything said here can be backed by emails and correspondence with the university.
Since for most people property will be their single largest investment, possibly in their lives, I think it's a huge financial risk to work with this company.
Every dealing with them
comes with hidden charges. They even charge for copy pasting a contract that they will send to you. The contract they sent me was wrong. On two occasions it was wrong. But I'm getting ahead of myself, let me explain what happened chronologically.
When I first showed interest in renting one of the properties they managed, I arranged a viewing. Upon arriving at said property I received a phone call from the branch saying the agent was unavailable and to reschedule...
Upon rescheduling the person who was to give me the viewing didn't even know how much rent they charged, struggled to enter the property, gave me false information on the property.
When I agreed to rent, they told me when I can move in. I agreed and spoke to my current landlords at the time to release me sooner. Those landlords were very kind and did so without any issues (ASHA house, if anyone is interested. Much better).
So it was 2 weeks before move in and I asked for the contract so everything is done and dusted.
Leaders refused to provide me with a contract. Stating it was proper to only give it a few days before move in. Seems dodgy but whatever. A week+ goes by and I'm ready to move soon. But they tell me I can't move in yet because they haven't cleaned the flat yet... So it'll be another week.
This resulted in me more or less being without a place to live for a week. They refused to help me in any other way.
The contract finally arrives in inundated with every possible surcharge imaginable. Except the contract was wrong. Their response was "whatever". But after insisting they sent the correct one.
When I moved in? The flat was filthy. There was literal blood on the wall behind my bed! It was clearly just barely vaccumed!
I sent a formal complaint to their head office. Nothing of value came of that (there's a pattern).
While living in the property, if I ever needed anything fixed I could never get through to the property manager. They were constantly on a lunch break or on holiday. I think of the myriad of leaking pipes, non working appliances, and mould. They'd only helped me out once. But by that I mean they called a maintenance guy for the building who basically did everything himself.
Moving out was another issue. My year was up and I had set to renew it. I got a job in another town so asked to cancel the renewal. I found someone to move in to my property as soon as I moved out. Ensuring no lapse in rent. They said they have to legally advertise the property first. Ok fine.
They advertised it. Nobody was interested except my friend.
They then refused to let her move in without them doing a viewing. All good they arranged a time on a Friday morning. The morning comes and I'm about to leave the flat to let them do their thing and I get a call from the agent saying she cannot come? The office was a 5 min walk from the property also. The agent then asked if I could do the viewing on their behalf because I'm already there and it's my friend.
I said fine. They thentried to add a surcharge for my release clause for "admin fees" which included advertising on their own website and sending someone out to conduct viewings!
Again after a month long back and forth about this they then tell me all is well they arranged to have someone move in to the property.
They turned down my friend by saying my flat was no longer available but offered her another flat of theirs. They then told me the person who's agreed had backed out and I was liable for 6 months rent.
After another lengthy months long convo they released me. But finally charged my deposit £100 to throw out a brand new mattress I bought and left behind.
I've hit the character limit now. But this company is the perfect example of lettings agencies being a waste of money and time.

Had a few issues with leaders loughborough, I found a few of the people I spoke to were a little rude, I had a few problems in the house I was renting and it took a very long time to sort them even if they got sorted at all, they sent one person for all the jobs when it needed at least 3 people looking at them, when I asked the man who came out what his craft was he just said "handy man", then after i left the property they were still emailing me and bugging me 4 months after! They wanted me to respond promptly but when I needed help within the property I was just passed from pillow to post! The quorn team on the other hand are amazing

Cleaning service contract with leaders, the original letting personnel was satisfied with all completed cleans, when she left after sending me to a job that didn't need completing a property been abandoned, was told I would be paid. Leaders new lettings personnel are refusing payment after 3 months and not informing of any issues until this point I would not advise any small business to go into contract with this company

I am really upset and disappointed in the service provided by Leaders in my first rented home.
The worst problem is our (only!) toilet. It has broken twice and been fixed twice within the first 6 months of renting, which to be fair was done reasonably quickly which we were happy with. In January this year, it has broken again and is blocked. It blocks, then unblocks a week later then after normal use blocks again. We are now in May 19 and nobody has come round to fix the toilet despite chasing. Since January, we have not put any toilet paper down the toilet, have to manually remove waste and try as much as possible to go to the toilet at work or the pub down the road. If anything it is a health risk.
We were also subject to a burgarly in March, where our window was smashed and our garden fence (which we were told would be replaced before we moved in but this was untrue) smashed. We are now in May and nobody has come to fix the fence - our dog runs round next doors garden. Our window is still boarded up and I have not had a refund for paying this to be boarded.
At the beginning of the tenancy, we had troubles with our utilities, council tax and home insurance as they did not have the right address listed for the property. This resulted in double bills from suppliers and a lot of hassle, as well as increased rate in council tax. This took quite a while to be resolved by ourselves. Even though we told them the address was wrong, every time we rung up to pay the rent they hadn't changed it.
We've had a few other more minor issues in the year we've had with Leaders. Their response to an email with all of the problems we've had was that there has been staff sickness and annual leave. However, within 2 days of giving our notice to the property, we received emails and calls trying to get viewings for the next lot of tenants. I found it disheartening that it takes weeks/months to fix something but only 2 days to get a property marketed and viewings arranged.
I am quite worried what charges we are going to be faced with at the end of our tenancy.
To put a positive spin on quite a negative review, the staff are mainly polite, friendly and when we were moving into the property were quick to respond.

Iv brought and sold many properties in my time and decided on leaders on my recent move because there rates were better than other quotes Id had.
However I have to say it was the best choice I could have made it was the easiest move Iv ever done with Yvonne dealing with our solicitor and Jess in the office with the rest of the crew taking all the stress and niggles off our hands.
It’s the first time Iv done a review on an estate agent but credit where credit is due to Jess and Yvonne and all the gang at leaders Loughborough.

I have been a tenant of Leaders(Sinclairs) for the past 15 years. During that time I have had excellent service from the Loughborough Branch with regard to any issues/repairs etc at the property we rented. I have always found the staff there to be friendly and helpful and they have been a pleasure to deal with. I would particularly like to give Louise praise for her help in dealing with our recent move following the termination of our tenancy(landlord sold the property), she kept us informed throughout a difficult time.
I also would like to say a big thankyou to Trudi, who I had never met before the day we handed back the property. She was punctual in arriving to meet me and her professional and friendly approach was a refreshing experience in this day and age. Thank you Trudi!!
I would like to wish the staff at Loughborough all the best for the future and thank you all again for your helpfulness and kindness over the past 15 years.

even something as simple as sending her the past house inspection reports that she's asked for numerous time seems to be too much of a task. absolute joke!

Top quality letting agency (can't speak for their other functions), extremely helpful, proactive, pragmatic, and generally very pleasant staff. Have solved every issue so far with minimal/no prompting from me as the tenant, and turned around my paperwork in less than 3 weeks which included the Christmas holidays. Made what could have been a very difficult time for me considerably easier.
I have had dealings with two letting agencies in Loughborough in the past, as well as University halls and a number of direct lettings not involving an agency, and in my opinion Leaders Loughborough have outperformed them all by several country miles.
Particular thanks to Beth, Olivia, and Trudi who have been fantastic!

This is my first negative Google review but I need to share the feedback. As I am an overseas landlord and currently live in Australia, I chose Leaders to manage my property based on reviews on here. Unfortunately (from my experience) their management service leaves much to be desired. I do have to chase a lot via email and phone for basic things such as feedback on repairs and reminders about gas service appointments (the contractor couldn't gain access twice and we have had to reschedule - even though I always told Leaders the dates in advance). The final straw for me is this month where my rental statement is over a week late and the rent has not been paid into my account - with my mortgage due tomorrow. The cost and time difference in ringing the UK from Australia adds to my frustration and I wish the management service was more reliable. That said the staff are polite and always apologise but I am tired of being so involved when I pay management fees and live on the other side of the world. Surely that's the whole point of the management service?

I recently had to view a flat for rent on field farm close and it happened be Emma who showed me around. Just wanted to share my absurdly wonderful experience of that viewing. Emma has incredible customer service skills and I was dumbfounded by the sheer professionalism she was carrying. She was very knowledgeable & sharp but extremely polite at the same time. It seemed as if I was being shown around a suite in The Dorchester that I had just walked in. I am a hard man to please and smiling is definitely not one of my key traits but I couldn’t help feeling pleased with the warmth of the tone in Emma’s voice while she described the key features of the property. Shame that the property itself happened to be a no-no for me because my Mrs wants to live somewhere quiet otherwise Emma had me convinced.
For me the experience was so amazing that I found it absurd (in a good way) as its almost impossible to meet people these days with such a high level of professionalism and that’s why I feel this should be highlighted and appreciated.
And Emma, would like to say that for a star like you, sky is the limit….

Placed us in a mould-ridden property (when asthmatic), took 2 months for them to attend to the property and only temporarily fixed the solution. Never refunded us for belongings damaged by the mould issue, even when provided with pictures and receipts. Would not recommend for rentals.

Moved into my flat last july after being told it was ready! It was a total craphole nothing had been done! Leaders after they sorted stuff out which only half had been done where a nightmare I called them over 100 times in my stay in the flat in Sileby damp stinks if it was not for me pushing nothing would have been done! Had to call the landlord and most of the time leaders did not call him email him. My health has suffered physical and mentally I was ill anyway and moving into this flat was a massive mistake!!! I would never use leaders ever again my main thoughts are useless staff that don't care the branch manager she was great but the staff under her are a joke! The branch manager at Quorn Amy was very good but again the rest rubbish! Felt lied too 90% of the time no feel good factor so glad I moved! Charnwood council are brilliant light years in front of this shower

From arranging that the initial multiple viewings could occur concurrently to ensuring that the acceptance of the tenancy was as snag free as possible. When there were a few moments of concern she was easily available by telephone to quickly resolve the issues. Fine before you pay the extortionate fees (£30 reference fee when you leave?)
We were burgled last year, it took leaders literally 3 months for them to organise replacing the broken lock on the door. Not to mention the poor yet sarcastic attitude we received when attempting to get the broken fence and gate for 6 months which is how they gained access to the rear of the property. Totally not interested in safety or customers well being

Leaders in Loughborough helped me find the perfect home. Emma was brilliant in helping me decide, as I knew I wanted somewhere affordable to rent but that was also right for me; so I wanted to give each viewing some thoughts before I made a decision. Emma didn't make me feel rushed at all in deciding anything, she made the whole experience enjoyable and stress free. I definitely would recommend anyone to use leaders, they clearly care and listen, and they also make good coffee which is 5* in my books!
