I have experienced both sides of Andrew Granger, both lettings and sales. My overall impression is that the workload of the staff is far too high and the level of service you get is a lottery, depending on the person in place to help you. On the lettings side we had a few issues but the lady in place (will not name any names) was extremely helpful, nice and friendly, but over time (4 years) the service declined, responses to emails became less frequent and response times got greater. When I finally decided to sell my flat the man in charge was appalling, he was cocky and rude, the photos were terrible and my requests for updates were not responded to. Once I kicked up a fuss and others helped then I couldn't fault the service. The photos were retaken, I was given fortnightly updates and I was informed on feedback from visits. They were at all times very helpful with some teething issues in the sales process. I would also say that after some years of being a loyal customer (as a landlord), once our business concluded, a courtesy call/letter/anything would have been nice. Not so much as thank you for your custom and no feedback ever requested (hence my posting on here). Would I use them again? Possibly, but I would insist on the correct person being in charge of my account.

I have had Andrew Granger as the managing agent for a property I let out since 2006. The team have always provided an excellent service, ensuring tenants are fully checked prior to agreement to let, and subsequently monitoring the tenancy to any issues are delt with swiftly and effectively. They are also excellent at communicating effectively, letting me know what is going on, and where problems have arisen, suggesting solutions where appropriate. I am grateful for their diligence, and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone seeking a managing agent for a property they wish to let

Excellent company. We sold our property through them and needed a rental property to move into. The very professional sales team kept us regularly updated throughout the whole sale process and were always there for us, answering any questions we had promptly and efficiently. The lettings team are friendly and knowledgeable and guided us through the process of finding and securing the perfect place. I would certainly recommend Andrew Granger & Co to anyone thinking of selling or renting a property.

Terrible Experience with this agent, and I wish I had of read the reviews before I entered a tenancy agreement with them. Currently in dispute with this company after our tenancy came to an abrupt end.

We were letting a property, no.10 Park House, Park Drive, Market Harborough, when we heard what appeared to be sparks coming from beneath the fridge freezer, the sparks and mini explosion (which I caught on camera on my phone) persisted, and appeared to get worse, this was 11pm at night, we were forced to leave the house, with my 3 year old son, and before doing so turn all electrics off by the fuse box, I was shocked that this issue didn't cause the fuse box to trip.

The following days an electrician turned up - a representative of Andrew Granger, and told us he was shocked to find none of the electrics had been PAT tested, furthermore the wiring under the fridge was left exposed and loose and had been left in a pool of water beneath the fridge causing a Hazard.

At this point I decided to check around the house due to safety concerns, it is a 3 storey house and the kitchen is on the ground floor, therefore any fire would be hazardous. I found that windows on the first and second floor were jammed shut, reducing the safety exits, there was no fire extinguisher, the fuse box was dated and didn't meet current regulations, there was no exit strategy given to us.

I eventually let the landlord know due to safety concerns we had to end our tenancy, as we were on a monthly rolling contract. They have subsequently sent us an email stating they are taking £300 from our deposit, siting clearing leaves from the garden, some general wear to a step on the stairs and some light bulbs needed replacing.

I also let them know, leaving the house for a night and turning off electrics, forced us to throw away an entire fridge and freezer full of food and we had to stay in a hotel. They have refused to compensate us for this, and now trying to remove £300 from our deposit.

I am currently seeking legal advice and looking to take this further. I'm getting little in the way of understanding or negotiation from the lettings team and have subsequently gone to the TPO for advice.
