If I could give zero stars I would! If you are a student please avoid this company there are plenty of others to choose from! In the end my son didn’t stay in the property overnight and commuted to uni which cost a small fortune in addition to paying the rent!

Nigel and the Arington team were incredible during the lengthy purchase of a leasehold flat where complications threatened to halt the process, and did for nearly three months. His advice throughout the purchase and constant chasing of all parties involved is very likely the reason that I now own my first home. I will be forever grateful for his grit and determination in getting it past the line before my mortgage offer (at a very nice rate) ran out. I truly hope he is celebrating as much as I. It was a wild ride. But Nigel knows what he's doing, and I would recommend his and Arington's services to anyone looking to buy their first home. Thank you!

If I could find the words to leave a review I would but the stress and problems this company has caused has been enormous.
If you are a landlord they will protect you at all costs but if you are tenant they are negligent in all responsibilities and moral ways of working towards you.
No matter the stress, anguish and issues they cause you.
We have had to instruct solicitors to now act on our behalf because of this company

These guys are worth avoiding at all costs. They don't respond to tenant enquiries/complaints, but will hound tenants regularly when it suits their agenda. Incredibly slow moving, repeatedly fail to meet appointments for tradesmen to attend properties. Nigel in particular is either an incredibly poor communicator or has too many obligations to deliver on any of them effectively.

Avoid! Moved into the house with a broken oven, broken bar stools, a broken mattress, a filthy sofa, no desk chairs and a rat infestation. My wardrobe was broken and many times nearly fell on top of me, which could have caused serious injury. When we moved out, we left the house spotless and were still charged with 20+ hours of cleaning.. They charge a lot more for the rental of their properties than most estate agents in Brighton yet do not provide half as good service.

Don’t have students best interest at heart. Ripped us off. Problem after problem after problem. Told us we had mice 3 days before we moved in. Oven was broken. No desk chairs. Broken bar stools so no where to sit in the kitchen. Mattresses were poor. Boiler didn’t work. Nigel was unprofessional and rude and belittled any conversation we had with him. Erica gave us false hope time and time again. Avoid at all costs. Safe to say they just aren’t very good at their job and enjoy ripping students off. House was spotless at the end but charged us for 20+ hours of cleaning…. I wish I could give 0 stars.

Terrible support and to contact, didn’t have our internet which was included for the first 3 months of tenancy. Always passing blame then charged us £800 for cleaning after we moved out when it was left spotless??? Disagreed with the deductions amount and still haven’t heard back after a month

We have used many Burgess Hill Estate Agents over 40+ years living in the town. We can categorically say Nigel at Arington is by far the best. Service was friendly, efficient, and Nigel went out of his way to keep us informed when snags cropped up in what should have been a simple sale. Nigel was the vendor's agent for the property we purchased. He was very professional and extremely knowledgeable on all aspects relating to the purchase. Even though we were first time buyers, we found the entire process very straightforward; this was undoubtedly as a result of Nigel's contribution to the process. He ensured efficient communication and exchange of documentation between us and the vendor, while providing us with good unbiased advice throughout the transaction.

Such a terrible experience, calling me 30 mins before the viewing that not able to attend while texting me a reminder 1.5 hrs before. The flat perfectly fine for a family one day then suddenly not??? Happy not to deal with this agency in the fututre! Avoid contacting....THUMBS DOWN

Terrible agency who try and steal money, especially from students who aren't that experienced with renting properties. They have tried to take nearly £150 from my daughter and 2 other students each for things they didn't even do!

We have just sold our property through Aringtons and were overall very pleased with the service and value for money.
Erica, Nigel and Chris were most helpful and kept us informed throughout the whole process and gave us honest feedback from viewings.
We were happy with the price we settled on with our buyers.
I would definitely recommend selling a property with these guys.

3 years now Arington is managing my property. It has been a delight to work with them. My tenants communicate with Arington who will take action on the majority of the queries of my tentant within the agreement set. In case of bigger issues or beyond the agreement they will contact me prompty by phone as well as by email. Nothing is too much for them and they are always seeking the best for my tenant as well as for me, the landlord.
Can't fault anything and would certainly recommend.

Last year Arington started fully managing our property and it was the best choice ever we made. Nothing is too much for any of the staff, but in particular Erica. Since we do not live locally to our properties it is difficult to oversee everything and to deal with everything. The fully managed service from Arington solves that problem.
Very pleased with their top notch service for us as landlords and to our tenants.

Do not recommend this estate agents at all. Rented with Arington for a year, complaints were dealt with extremely slowly. After our tenancy ended they took a far larger proportion of our deposit than what is fair considering the state they gave the property to us in was unacceptable to begin with. On top of this they take MONTHS to reply to complaints and do not deal with them using correct procedures. If you are a student I would strongly advise avoiding this estate agents.

Simply the best
Nigel at Aringtons helped us to buy our gorgeous new house, while at the same time helped sell our old home. Throughout the entire process Nigel’s team (Nigel, Sarah and Erica) were incredibly helpful and patient, and more importantly, responsive to not only requests and questions related to our sale, but also in assisting us with our questions on our purchase, providing helpful tips on what we could do to keep the process moving forward on both. Unpleasant experience working with this agent overall. We are students and rented a flat with them for a year and though the experience of living in that flat wasn't great, their service (from Erika and Nigel) was even worse.
Responses to complaints/issues in the house were slow, weren't taken seriously and most of the time no action was taken. Given how severe some of the issues were (cracked ceilng in the bathroom) this is unacceptable. Not sure if it's just because we're 'students' but there was such a big disregard for us as tenants.
On top of that, towards the end of our tenancy a leak occurred from the flat above (which is not their fault) that caused major disruptions to the flat. How they dealt with it is what bothers me. The flat felt moist, smelt unpleasant (like mouldy), and ended up causing the clothes that were stored in bags to actually get mouldy. Nothing was done and when asked for a compensation for the damages they say that they don't believe that the damage is from their property. Ridiculous.
To students and everyone else, I would HIGHLY ADVISE AGAINST RENTING WITH ARINGTON. Don't waste your time.

My experience of using Arington Estate Agents, was a very good one. Me and my partner were first time buyers, and naturally buying our first property was an exciting, but incredibly daunting prospect. We were uncertain of what to expect, although we knew it could be a challenging and stressful experience. However Nigel and Sarah where very understanding and guided us through expertly and they went that extra mile to ensure our dream home was secured and became a reality. Not only did they keep us up to speed every step of the way, but I personally felt I went from practically knowing nothing about house buying to becoming an expert in a few months, thanks to Arington.
I would thoroughly recommend them, and intend to use them again when we come to sell in the future.

I've been a tenant with Arington since September 2017. So far I have been impressed with their service. Repair issues have been dealt with in good time, and some replacements they arranged have improved the house we are staying in. Their communication so far has been professional and helpful.
Two issues I have come across: The house was covered in dust and grime when we first arrived. If there even was a "professional cleaning" done, their job obviously wasn't inspected or they wouldn't have been paid. After having cleaned it ourselves, I would be very suprised and very dissapointed if we we will be charged the same "departure fee" (that other tenants have reported), when we leave the property, especially if no cleaning is even done. The other issue (which other tenants have reported) is that despite confirming by phone call the date and time that I was arriving at the property (where I was told someone would meet me to give me the keys), nobody showed up. I had to rush like mad to get to the agency in Burgess Hill to pick it up myself... a little unprofessional on their part, but not a dealbreaker.
Still, I think the agency deserves a 4/5 star rating due to all other pleasant experiences I have had with them. Their rentings are on the expensive end of the student market, but having had experiences with other agencies in the Brighton area I would say that they Arington are a cut above.

I've been renting my house through Arington for 7 months now and I've not had to lift a finger! They have completely taken charge of the rental and there've been no problems or concerns from myself or the tennent. Nigel was very accommodating when we were looking for a suitable tennent and made the process, for me, very quick and easy. Now I just look forward to the income Arington are able to provide me with every month and I don't have to worry about a thing. Totally recommendable!!

YOU HAVE TO CALL AND EMAIL IN MANY TIMES TO GET AN ANSWER. "NIGEL" IS THE WORST AGENT AND HAS NOT GOT CAPABILITIES TO SELL A PROPERTY. DUE TO HIS/ ARINGTON'S NEGLIGENCE, BEING UNAWARE OF THE POLICIES AND THE PROPERTIES THEY SELL, I HAVE LOST OUT ON NEARLY £1000 IN MY SOLICITOR AND SAVAYOR FEES!
I HIGHLY REQUEST TO NOT FALL VICTIM OF THEIR UNPROFESSIONALISM, INCOMPETENCE AND NEGLIGENCE.
EVEN AFTER WRITING MANY TIME ASKING FOR CALLBACK REQUESTS, COMPLAINING ETC, NOTHING! NO HELP GIVEN.

Students BEWARE!
We went after a house with this agency, ignoring our Brighton residents advice to stay away from these people, now, nearly a grand down we wish we had listened.
Their fess are EXTREMELY high, one of the highest I have come across and they charged us for everything before we eventually had to loose the house because their requirements for a guarantor were ridiculous; to be eligible the person acting as guarantor had to be earning almost £1,000 per week and the wouldn't accept either the university or guarantor company like most other agencies.
The university who we contacted afterwards said that they had also heard of many other bad student experiences with this company.
Shelter were also shocked at how unusually high their fees were.
Stay away from these people if you are a student on funding as they will drain you dry.
