PHOTOS TO SHOW WHAT LIARS THIS COMPANY IS!
Contact initially was brilliant, back and forth really quickly and were told we could view the land we had enquired about whenever as it wasn’t in use. We viewed the land and travelled an hour to do so, it was unrecognisable. It was in use with wheel barrows, rugs, water bowls and rubbish covering the floors. The field advertised was grassy and immaculate in the photos but in person covered in mud with deep 6-7 inch holes through it, the stable doors had holes in and were hanging off and to top it off the concrete floor was covered in animal poo and straw. The land was in fact in use by 4 horses. I contacted to let them know, after being called a liar and having to provide proof and photos of what we were met with they finally told us it is being let out and that they will speak to the owner and contact us asap. After 2 further weeks of hearing nothing, and the photos still being advertised (but changed to relatively new ones) I decided to call again and was told straight away I’d be contacted before the end of the day. I have not been contacted and when I tried to ring before they shut no one answered. All my emails have been ignored over the last few weeks and I have been lied to multiple occasions. All I’d like to do is apply for this land out of desperation which they are aware of my circumstances but refuse to tell me the truth. I have tried to make multiple complaints but always end up being put on hold and told “well if you don’t want to apply that’s fine” no I want to apply but it’s in use and still being advertised?? Absolute disgrace of an estate agents!!!!

I recently purchased a house through Ashton Roberts. Over the past 6 months, I have had a brilliant experience and would highly recommend this estate agents.
Thanks to Rebekah Watts, I was kept informed of any updates they had received from the solicitors and I felt Rebekah supported me through the process. Communication was spot on, responded promptly to any emails received and was always available over the phone when needed.
Was a very frustrating process at times with the solicitors, so was reassuring to know I had support from Rebekah. ?

Very helpful and honest estate agents. We had difficulty retrieving our deposit from a rental property, but we were given honest and fair advice by Ashton’s on a number of phone calls on how much we could actually retrieve by negotiating with the landlord. Led to a satisfactory conclusion for all party’s involved.

Avoid at all costs!! Updated January 2023 after moving out!!!!!
We’ve just moved out of a properly they managed and I’ve held my tongue for 7 years! Chris Roberts is the most rude, condescending arrogant man I ever had the displeasure of coming across, I refuse to deal with him!! As a renting agent, they’re shocking, as someone else has said, it’s like pulling teeth! We went from April 2022 to July 2022 with no boiler and ended up having to threaten court action to actually get it dealt with! Makes me wondering the landlords they’re working on behalf of actually know half the issues we reported to the agents! I reported damp issues a year or so after we moved in and I was basically blamed because we had a tumble dryer (in a well vented area) but they had damp treatment prior to us moving in, so clearly there’s an issue and also the fact that most of downstairs is prone to damp, which we as tenants have attempted to sort ourselves, aswell as fixing woodworm ridden floorboards!! We gave up reporting issues to them because we just felt we weren’t being listened to, so we paid out to fix ourselves! Am just waiting now to hand keys back as they refused to let us finish our tenancy 2 weeks earlier and had the nerve to tell me to change my move in date (which we couldn’t). Soon I’ll do an update to if we get our deposit back (which we would as the house is left immaculate)!! Basically, AVOID AT ALL COSTS, they’ll just give you bigger headaches! The only person with any sort of understanding was Rebecca!

The level of pettiness is actually laughable until it get to the facts that REBECCA just bare out LIES and has revealed her true colours!
Claiming that we never asked permission for a dog yet permission was granted with the landlord direct back in 2017 and the agents were made aware! I mean, they even saw the dog during inspections so if the dog shouldn’t have been there, why was the question not raised!!??? We’re in dispute getting our FULL deposit back, claiming for carpet cleaning etc when we hired a professional cleaner in! Literal nitpicking including a little dust on a socket and a
Lightbulb, down to a little toy green army solider in the garden! It’s almost laughable!! Claiming other things in the check out which we know are 100% false and they’ve not even provided the photo evidence (ie, cobwebs)! We replaced the carpet in the lounge a year ago because the one put in were very cheap and worn (brand new when we moved in but after 7 years of traffic etc and cheap carpets) so we spent over £1k on a lovely new carpet, funnily enough that wasn’t moaned about! The oven was professionally cleaned, and even our neighbour saw the landlady and she commented how lovely and clean the oven was but yet according to Rebecca, it’s full of grease and grubby, she loves that word “grubby”, a couple of frying pans were accidentally left and they’re wanting to charge us £10 to remove them ????we even left special damp paint for the walls as thought landlord could use that, and now being charged £10 to remove those! we were out of the property 2 weeks before keys were handed back, garden was all clear of dog poo but obv at some point a cat had come in and done it’s business, £20 they want to charge us for the disposal of it…..think I’m in the wrong job!! It’s all being contested so we will now wait and see, but again, PLEASE AVOID THESE AGENTS ALL COSTS IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING A TENANT!!! They’re just outright liars and will leave you feeling angry and frustrated!

This is the worst estate agents I've ever dealt with . Rude and inconsiderate! I turned up at my house to find the estate agent already inside without my permission and I also told them about an ongoing shower issue that when they sent their own plumber out still wasn't fixed! I then had a power cut to then find a flood in my living room and boiler room where I slipped and injured my neck and now can't work for 8 days! I've rented properties before and never had a single issue , I refuse to deal with them now and will only deal with the landlord. I had no TV airel point when I moved in either as that also wasn't connected and the heating didn't work downstairs. I will be happy to find somewhere new as the customer service skills don't even exist here.

When initially applying for a rental I was shocked at the manner in which my wage slip was paraded around the office. "I'm in the wrong job, look at this!". Given the sensitive nature of what was being banded around I should have know then that this was not company to deal with. I was embarrassed and appualed, shocked into a standstill, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. For those who would ask why I didn't leave, they were responsible for the initial signing only and I would be dealing directly with the landlord thereafter.
Next dealing with Ashton Roberts, it couldnt be 2 for 2? Looking to get my deposit back thus far has been an experience matched by many others it would seem. Rude and arrogant responses from members of staff over the phone. An attitude likened to a spoilt teenager would be the best description. We haven't the need for any further services from them which i couldn't but be more greatful. I can not speak beyond what I have experienced but this is somewhere I would advise to avoid at all cost. Having dealt with Aspire most recently and previously William H Brown there is frankly no comparison. I can only hope people selling there property through them have a better experience because as a tenant there is an unquestionable level of contempt from staff. I work with professionals all day long and all of them have the common decency to show respect to one another. Unfortunately this is not something that can be experienced when dealing with Ashton Roberts, at least as a tenant. The destain is evident from the first engagement and from what I have experienced that does not waver. If I had a mirror big enough I would place it in front of the team and have them take a good hard look at themselves. Shame on you.

Horrendous customer service. I arranged to view a property on a Saturday. Arrived, the estate agent let us in without saying a word other than “would you like a leaflet” and that was it. We walked around - still nothing from the estate agent. I asked a few questions and was given blunt replies as a response, I was told there were several others interested and other offers had already been placed. At the end of the viewing I was told I would be called on Monday so they could ask if I’d like to make an offer. I was never contacted. It was quite clear the estate agent knew they had sold the property with the amount of offers coming in, so just couldn’t be bothered with me. Really shocking service, even if they had my dream property up for sale I don’t think I’d buy it just down to how they treat people.

What can I say.... the reviews speak for them selves, The Owner/Director Chris Roberts is one of the rudest, insulting and most arrogant person I have ever dealt with. Stay well clear, you will not be treated like a customer. Ashton Roberts need to learn some basic customer service skills.

Jeezus!!! It’s like pulling hens teeth, trying to get information out of these people, and their sooo rude! Interested in a property they have for sale, but tbh, they put every obstacle in the way, it’s like they don’t want to sell it: would not elaborate on what kind of renovation is required: in one conversation it went from bulldozing the site to just needing an new kitchen: we live 2 hrs away, just wanted to know if it was inhabitable and the extent of renovations needed, we wanted to establish wether or not to view: that’s up to you they said: yes, it is, but we can only make a decision with information! The advert wasn’t very enlightening, so we was hoping for further clarification, but they were so rude, we felt like we were a complete inconvenience: whoever is selling the property at silt road, I’d get it listed with another agent pronto! Shame, because we are genuinely interested in this property: everything we are looking for: but we give up

Had a complaint against Ashton Roberts upheld by The Property Ombudsman. An amount of compensation was awarded by the ombudsman. The agent refuses to pay. Be warned tenants, in my experience this agency are a law unto themselves. They did not carry out repairs effectively and have incredibly poor customer service!

Massvie I don't care additude and rude. They required second proof of ID wich is normal, but because I'm a Eropean they didn't accept my British driving licence and request other ID just becaus I'm not from UK which is racist. Couple who was also asking about differnt hous had the same filing about the service (couple was clearly British).
