I've always thought choosing an estate agent is like choosing a dentist - you want one that gives you the least pain. Matthew Barron is very different. The most important differential is that you quickly know to trust him to do what he says he will do. During the whole process of selling our property he never let us down once. He obviously has many years of experience which is invaluable and he uses this wisely. He's very good at what he does, he has your best interests at heart and you can trust him - that's all you really need to know.

Having moved several times I can HONESTLY say that Matt was the MOST down to earth and " just get on with the job" Estate agent I have ever instructed! ALWAYS there, and if not PROMTLY ringing back answering or dealing with any queries or questions we might have. SO REFRESHING as both my parents ( who were selling their house at the same time as us) and ourselves have not had great experiences in the past. We fell in love with our house the minute we walked through the garden gates and I told Matthew I wanted this house and he did everything to make it happen. We purchased our house using Barrons in October 2020.. right in the mist of COVID-19 and restrictions and at times there were delays that were out of our hands (due to covid) but Matthew was nothing but professional and kept both us and our previous owners calm and reassured us both throughout the whole transaction. Complete 5* from us. ( p.s we are late reviewing as we both thought the other half had already done it back in 2020 )

We first came across Barrons when we we found a house we loved in Cheshunt. Unfortunately it fell through, but Matt worked tirelessly to try and keep the sale together. He was incredibly supportive and patient with us. After listing our property unsuccessfully with 2 different agents, we spoke to Matt who agreed to help us out. What a fantastic agent!
I never thought that I would be able to recommend an estate agent, as I always have found them to fit the stereotype but Matthew breaks the mould! He has been consistently helpful, always contactable, prompt and always supported us with our best interests. Matthew has never made us feel forced to do anything we haven't agreed with and always offered the best advice. We sold our property through Barrons & what a pleasure it was from start to finish. Matt was our estate agent, he valued the property and saw us through until the sale and purchase of our new home. The valuation itself was faultless, I’ve had negative experiences with previous agencies but I was put at ease straight away. During the sale Matt was very supportive, he offered great and honest advise and really helped up see all of our options. When offers had been made either side and we were in a chain Matt remained heavily involved and very active, not just with us but with the entire chain. Matt’s communication was 100%, he kept us updated at every point, in a very complicated chain. I can honestly say that without Matt and the assistance of Barrons the whole experience of moving out would have been much more stressful & we probably wouldn’t have exchanged now, without Matt pursuing things and chasing others. Without question I would use Barrons again to buy and sell properties. Thanks so much Matt!

After a long search for properties for sale in Cheshunt my family finally found the one. We approached Barrons and arranged a viewing to see a property on Valence Drive in which they advertised for £390k. Lovely area my parents fell in love with it. It had everything they just needed. We was assisted by Matthew Barrons the man himself who conducted the viewings. He showed us around, we had a good chat and he confirmed that we should only put an offer if we are serious buyers. My parents (as serious buyers) put in their offer which was accepted. Not long after the offer letter being sent, Matthew begins to bombard with phone calls twice a week asking for an update and constantly pestering trying to push the sale forward for HIS CLIENT when already explained that completion of a property purchase does not happen within 3 weeks of the offer letter and yet to conduct a valuation for the property. Due to covid we was experiencing a longer than usual wait time with the lender we chose to go ahead with and things were out of my control. After 3 weeks of the offer letter being sent, Matthew not only intimidates but also threatens to put the property back on the market. Talking about honesty and integrity he lied to us about who owns the property next door of which we was looking to buy and on top of that inappropriately spoke to my family member whom wanted to view the property as they didn’t get the chance to attend the viewing initially due to working long hour shifts and was told by Matthew in exact words, shouting out the door ‘Don’t play Games, no Games’ this I do not see as a professional act. The good reviews on his service seem to be left from his clients whom he has assisted in selling their properties for and a few perhaps first time buyers purchasing their first homes and whom were emotionally moved by Barrons service. I have conducted business with many agents myself before but have not seen anything like this. Purchasers who want to go through Barrons be aware. These guys only act for their sellers and forget about their buyers (where the money is actually coming from to pay for their commission and their clients money ) We are saddened even more to have lost out on fees we committed too and valuable time with their pathetic service claiming to be unique.

Went for a viewing on a property in Goffs Oak, Cheshunt. The staff working with Barrons estate agent came to accompany us as the owner’s of the property weren’t home. The individual working for the agent made me and my partner feel very intimidated. The property was advertised for 475K, we verbally told the agent our offer for the property was 460K, and the estate agent looked directly at our face and laughed. He insisted the owner wouldn’t go below 470K and was very angry with the offer we had in mind, and was pressuring us to leave the property in a rush soon after we mentioned our offer. I am now avoiding any property listed with Barrons as i do not feel comfortable doing business with them.

Each stage of what potentially is an extremely stressful, emotional experience, was dealt with by Matthew in a smooth, prompt, caring & professional manner. His fine negotiating expertise coupled with working tirelessly on our behalf, achieved a prompt sale securing the best price for our home.
If you are looking to sell your property or buy a home in Hertfordshire then I would honestly say don't go anywhere else.
