Avoid using Bridgfords. They lie are Totally unprofessional and unreliable from start to finish. While they did find a buyer for my property quickly. They did not do any viewings and it wasn’t made clear to me the seller or the people viewing my property that I was showing them around until the agents didn’t turn up. The communication is poor at best. They ignore your emails and calls the majority of the time. And then when you complain it gets ignored. After we finally completed I asked them to call me on completion day as I posted keys through there letter box as was moving out of town. They never called me at all despite in an email them confirming they would. They were very quick to send me an invoice for payment. I raised another complaint with the branch manager and finally he rang me and said he would give me a discount on the calling fee I accepted. Then he went on holiday and now the whole Bridgfords team we denying he offered the discount to me s goodwill gesture. I would say in my Experian’s with them they call you when you can’t prove what has been said or be used against them as apparently they don’t record calls for training and monitoring etc. make sure if you do speak to them you record yourself or have a witness like i did . So to sum up they do very little work for you as the customer but expect you to pay full fees they lie to you in emails and phone calls then deny the whole thing despite me having email history of both the manager and sale team not responding to my emails for days or not at all unless I hounded them for a response then they speak to you like you haven’t sold a house before I have bought and sold plenty through estate agents and never had this experience

Unprofessional service, lack of transparency. Even a conveyancer they recommended to me could not hide their frustration with this Middlesbrough branch. They have their own buyer even before you ask them to advertise your property. You agree a sale price, they recommend a conveyancer. After a prolong period of time of not responding to the conveyancer, and keeping you in the dark they will come arround and tell you that their buyer wants a new reduction in price and will start talking you into agreeing with the buyer because you would have wasted several months. Who are these so call ' buyers in waiting', could this whole scheme be planned?

Staff rude abusive, whilst working on a property trades man and estate agent dumped a large amount of commercial waste in a neighbouring property, when approached they became abusive and threatened a resident as well as an enforcement officer. After contacting Bridgefords to resolve this issue they denied any involvement and when evidence was provided they phoned the police and made a false report about being threatened. I would advise you do not contact this company.
This business name is also a front for several rogue landlords.

Attempting to sell my house through Bridgfords was a bad experience and resulted in taking my house off the market. After all the sales talk during the initial meeting and their promises of what they would do, they failed to deliver on anything.
The Rightmove listing was uploaded without our knowledge and had no photographs of the bedroom and used the text from the previous house listing in 2018! The advert was never right throughout the listing on Rightmove. The description that we were told they would help us write was left as generic. They copied my wife in all communications but not me. We received no feedback after the few viewings we had and no regular contact from the Middlesbrough office, apart from the 'For Sale sign at the front of the house you wouldn't know that we were using a "premium" estate agent.
I phoned the office to complain a couple of times and nothing changed. So I tired the branch manager and after promising to take care of our house and "manage it personally" cancelled the first meeting he scheduled, then failed to reply to the text message for the next meeting and didn't answer my phone calls. The lack of Comms from the branch manager made me realise that Bridgfords are completely incompetent.
If you actually want to sell your house I would advise you not to use Bridgfords.
Terrible from start to finish.
I'll try selling my house again in 2024 with an estate agent that know what they are doing.

From a landlord's perspective, fully managed
Summary: lettings team outstanding. I would recommend to stay away from property management because they are totally incompetent and will rip you off, as well as ruin your property if you are not careful.
Lettings part is amazing, pretty close to impeccable. Any time the property is empty, they relet it REALLY quickly. Rent comes in promptly, they let me know if they have to send reminder letters to the tenants. They failed to get back to me a couple times, but nothing big.
The maintenance side is disgraceful. So far every time there was a maintenance issue i had to step in so that they would pull their finger out. Once they failed to find a contractor for pests, didnt let me know, and i didnt find out until the tenant reported a broken pipe (chewed through). I then had to find a contractor myself for the pests, and chase and chase the agency so that they would owe up to their failure and fix the damage caused by their negligence, for free.
When they do find a contractor they do it slowly and hugely overpriced. Example: i was told the boiler broke and the TENANTS are WITHOUT HOT WATER. I thought i would let the agency sort it as i wanted it done swiftly and i was busy. Same day (Tuesday) i okayed them to send a contractor (callout charge £78, other contractor would have charged £40). 4 DAYS LATER the tenant contacted me that they still didnt have hot water. It took until the Friday (3 days) for the agency to send out a contractor just to have a look. They then didnt come back to me with a quote for fixing it (despite me chasing as well) until Monday (day 6). Their quote was ridiculously overpriced, so i spent an hr looking, and booked someone myself for a fraction of the price. It was fixed the next day. Tenants were without hot water for 7 days and it would have been more if it wasnt for me.
How overpriced? The quote from Bridgfords was £643. I got it fixed for £280.

Sold a property well below the guide price, agreed on fees of £1800 to sell the property but due to a low ball offer I called Frankie to reduce his fees to £1,000. He agreed over the phone and now has gone back on his word now that the property has sold. I wouldn't use this dishonest branch. they are slow and rarely answer your calls.

Enquired numerous times on a property. They called me once, didn’t leave a voicemail so I didn’t know who to contact back. I called back, no answer. I submitted another enquiry online again and still no response back I made an offer on the property which I’m sure they haven’t put forward to the vendor either. Makes you think if weather they’re actually working in the interest of the vendor or not. Not a good experience at all so far.

I used Bridgfords when purchasing my first house. It was a strange time due to it being through various lockdowns due to Covid 19. However, the support and service remained nothing but outstanding. Right from the beginning of the house sale, I was able to seek advice from Becca and she was able to guide me through the unfamiliar process. As time went on, obstacles occurred due to outside services such as solicitors (no fault of estate agent), but the support received during this time was commendable. The support was above and beyond what was usually expected from an estate agent.
Consistently speaking to the same person was incredibly helpful. Phone calls were always answered and if were unable to were promptly returned. Becca always was supportive, helpful and friendly. At the end of the house sale, Becca and her colleague Tekla went above and beyond their duties to ensure paperwork needed was secured. Overall, I can not recommend this estate agents enough. The communication is outstanding and even more importantly they went above and beyond to ensure that they could be helpful and show they care in such a stressful time.

The sale fell through on my house. Which is not necessarily Bridgfords’s fault (although my buyer said he actually had no idea they’d accepted his offer, and had no communication from Bridgfords, but that’s a whole different complaint)
However; I only found out the sale had fallen through when the person I’m buying my new house from rang Bridgfords for an update on the sale and they told her it was back on the market. Incredibly embarrassing to be told by the agent that I’m buying my new home from, that my sale had fallen through. This shouldn’t have happened. Why didn’t anyone from Bridgfords keep me informed? I rang and emailed them very frequently and was assured everything was ticking along as it should.
I sold my house again with another agent (for the same price) in just three days. It took Bridgfords 10 months to get a sale, and then they let it fall through. Would not recommend.

Me and my girlfriend viewed a property for rent, we expressed interest and told agent, the current tenant kindly showed us around and gave good details about the house, however the agent just shadowed around the property. After the viewing he told us that he would ring us next morning to start an application, we are still waiting for a phone call and the property is now let agreed ( We finally got a phone call after posting reviews), truly disgraceful service not even a courteous phone call to say either way, agent came across unprofessional. Extremely bad service and utter lack of professionalism, would not recommend at all.

My partner and I where looking to move home and saw an advert on Rightmove for a bungalow to rent which was through Bridgfords Middlesbrough. I phoned and noted our interest, but was unable to view the property due to a tenant still been in. I was told it would be the end of the month before any viewings would take place, so we was put o to a waiting list. Near the end of the month I received a phone call from Bridford,s ask if I was still interested and was given a viewing time and date. My partner and I went to the viewing and liked the bungalow very much, we spoke to the young lady outside from Bridgfords who I now know is called Sophie Reed. There were eight viewings for this bungalow and my partner and I were the lucky ones to be chosen and was assigned to Sophie Reed. Sophie is very good at her job, she talked us through every step of this letting and answer any question we asked her no matter how trivial. In all our dealings with Sophie she was always friendly and nothing seem to be any trouble. She is very helpful and along with the rest of the staff at Bridgfords Middlesbrough very efficient. My partner and I look forward to a long and happy tenancy.

Bridgfords are the best. Now l'd been searching for a suitable home for over nine months. Going around in circles with zero luck to the point where l no longer knew my Zoopla from my Rightmove.
In less than a week. The bright and engaging Georgia and sharply dressed Michael (from the Darlington and Teesside Bridgfords branches) solved my housing conundrum. From requesting details to moving has taken less than a month.
Bridgfords provide a welcoming, respectful and informed client led service. Professional, personable and mindful of how stressful moving is. Bridgfords communication and customer service is second to none. Automated sites and other national agents arent able to provide that bespoke interaction. That which makes one feel like person not punter.
Bridgfords manage lettings and sales of good housing stock with reputable landlords. Facilitating prompt bookings for covid-19 compliant physical | digital viewings. Swift processing of referencing is done digitally with super quick turnaround. Bridgfords provide access to a wealth of information from EPC to general maintenance guidance. Their zero deposit schemes is an option that shows Bridgfords understand people. Putting People into property, in more ways than one.
For me all of the above makes Bridgfords the goto letting agents for those needing a great new home without all the usual stress.

Bit of a interesting thing they got going on. They’re not willing to let you view any home with out a mortgage in place. Guy was very aggressive and unprofessional, hung up once I started to question this approach. Rang up to tell him that is was rude what he had done, defended it with the line broke up. Not sure what the objective in this is, what if the viewing went ahead and you decided you didn’t like the property. Glad it came to this at this stage and not further on.

I can not thank Bridgfords enough for all their hard work and dedication. I recently purchased a house they were advertising; which almost fell through! They were nothing but understanding, empathetic and they honestly had my best interests at heart. Me and my partner bought a house advertised through bridgfords. We used Ashleigh (their in house mortgage person) and Tekla was the man who spent most of the time working our behalf. We could not fault anyone in that building - Chris and Anna were the other two who got involved and they all cooperate well and always respond when asked anything regardless of the stage of the purchase or the seriousness of the query.
whilst the purchase took the best part of 6 months it'd of taken a whole lot longer if it wasn't for them chances are if it wasn't for them it may not have happened. Our problems were due to sellers losing forms and solicitors not really chasing anyone or letting me and my partner know what the issues were (data protection associated jargon) that aside if you need an estate agents use bridgfords in Middlesbrough just choose your solicitors carefully check reviews! We didn't and would defo next time - you assume big players are winners - not always.
Thanks again to the team we are forever grateful for all the time you spent chasing issues for us.

We reached the stage when it was time (sadly) to sell the family home and we contacted a number of estate agents. One proposed a clearly overambitious value (and an enhanced photo package at additional cost) and another seemed more keen to put it in an auction.
We felt that Chris' presentation was fair and realistic and the fact that his fee was fixed from the outset was also reassuring.
Chris arranged for sales particulars to be prepared as agreed and a buyer was found very quickly within the anticipated price range and the sale agreed. We were kept informed of progress throughout and all of the team at the branch were keen to help including emailing photographs of remaining items to assist with decision making re disposal etc.
All in all, Chris did what he said he would at all times and the process was hassle free through to completion. I would happily recommend this branch.

Still waiting for repairs on a leaking roof - 5 years down the line. Get fobbed off all the time. A leak does not disappear. The roof still leaks.
I have sent numerous emails and repair forms over the years and still in the same boat.
Very bad experience causing a lot of stress and inconvenience.
I have saved all the correspondence and waited by for the inevitable - a collapse.
I can’t adford to move nor should I have too. I signed an agreement and hold my end.

Nearly 2 months after i moved out i am still waiting for my bond to be returned. Numerous calls and emails having to go into the branch and still no joy. They just seem to loose letters and emails and give you every bs excuse under the sun to fob you off. They dont make much money from you renting so why should they care! Bridgefords please dont do introduction only lettings if you can not be bothered to do you job properly. Ive never known anything like it a pure discrace!

Terrible experience and very poor admin led to many issues. This branch kept poor records and could not work out a moving out date despite formal written requests and many phone calls. 6 months after moving out I have been left with bills for the property as they could not keep basic admin records (could not work out 1 month end of tenancy notice was different from end of tenancy date). They use a 3rd party management company too, so you get passed from company to company and no-one wants to take ownership; this is not a customer centric company.
When I was moving out they didn't hold keys so I let people in. I also ending up showing people around the house because the agent skipped showing an en-suite bathroom - in my opinion a major benefit for 2 people sharing an apartment. As a landlord I'd want my letting agent to point out key benefits of my property in order to secure a lease quickly.
Be prepared to double check all paperwork and keep your own records if you let via this branch; even better, there is plenty of choice on Teesside, do not use Bridgfords.

Booked a viewing by a chap called Tekla for a week after on Friday, 4th of November at 1.30-pm in McCreaton Street, drove 100 miles to come have a look. Called their office 30 minutes before arrival and been told we will be there on time
Now the man in their office Chris has said that the property's completing today and they can show me another property in the area.
This company's absolutely run by cowboys and rogue traders which have no idea what they are doing and talking about - an absolute joke!
They have wasted my whole working day, fuel and precious time. Genuinely upset!!
If you are a property buyer and investor like me: you should stay well clear from these rogue traders and shoddy business!!!!

Such a helpful and professional agency to deal with. We were kept regularly informed of the house purchase weekly by the same individual which was great to have continuity.
And then they were extremely proactive about renting the same property out for us and they managed to find and install tenants within one week of the house purchase going through. At all times they have been friendly and very open and when they say they are going to do something...they do!! An agency to definitely recommend if you are looking to buy, sell, or rent a property.
