Used Hunters to sell my Mothers house after she passed away. A little more expensive than other agents, but valued the house higher and had an offer very close to the asking price within a week of it going on the market. Ian Paterson was very helpful which was particularly useful as I wasn't local.
We were recommended Hunters by many students last year, however hunters are possibly the worst student housing company to go with.
When we first signed for the house we were getting regular emails and everything was professional and they were keeping us up to date with everything and gave us ipads and cash back for when we signed the house. However, from moving in the house the company has just proved how much they do not care about students. We were told on our moving in day that the house was "professionally cleaned" this was far from it. They house had been painted but they had painted over the 2 inches of dust, they had left mould in the bath, broken chairs, desks, stained mattresses, dirty windows, cobwebbed light fittings etc. They then provided us with an out of hours emergency contact number which when we rang it found that the gentleman had not worked for the company for two years and that we could not find another number to ring to deal with our problems. The contractor in which they do have will come round look at the issue and then leave without any word of what to do next and its then up to us to trace this back with emails which are normally not responded too or that they will get in contact and then we never hear anything again. Recently we have had a letter through the door about our gas been cut off due to them company not paying our bills for 3 months, even though they will email us straight away if we are a day overdue on our rent...so where is the money we are giving you going?
The company may be good for buying and renting for non students but for students they are dreadful and as a house we would not recommend them to anyone...unless you want a free apple product and cash.
I had the best experience with Robinsons. Becky was a great help we had been massively let down and had bad service with browns so this was the best way to bring back my confidence in estate agents. We went to view a house and decided once seeing it we wanted it. We fell in love. The next day I went down paid my deposit and put in the application. I asked Becky if there was any other applicants and if they could take it off the market. To which she advised me she would need to check the application with the landlord and would let me know. I left and after driving away 5 minutes later I had a call from Becky letting me know that the landlord was happy and they have taken the house of the market. And we got to move in on the day we wanted with 0 hassle. I’m really happy with the professionalism of the company and becky. Thank you!
Robinsons recently sold my elderly parents house and we were absolutely delighted with the service they offered. Richard was very professional at all times and Elaine was always available to keep the sale moving forward when it appeared to be halting! Many thanks to all the Middlesbrough team!
Wish I had gone with Michael Poole before my first estate agent, so efficient and professional. Better to pay a little bit more as you really do get what you pay for. The 7 day a week service is so much better for working people like ourselves. Hope I don't have to use an estate agent again but would 100% recommend michael Poole
Kind, helpful and efficient staff who where very accommodating throughout the process. Only caveat would be that as a first time buyer there where times when it seemed unclear as to what was happening and I felt that I had to call to get updates more often than I should have. More contact from Michael Poole's either via email or call would have been more beneficial to myself. I do appreciate however the multiple clients they must be juggling. Overall very happy with the service provided.
