Above and Beyond! That is the best phrase I can use describe our experience with Challenger Burgess.
It is important to stress that Challenger Burgess were not even our estate agents, they acted on behalf of the property we were buying. This did not matter to them and we felt like we were being treated like we were their own client.
From the moment we viewed to the property to the moment we completed the service provided was first rate. They were incredibly professional, proactive and communicative. We heard more from Challenger Burgess than we did our own estate agents. They communicated info to us before anyone else, including our solicitor. Any issues that arose Challenger Burgess were on top of them and would chase with vigour to find answers and provide solutions. In fact it got to the stage we would message Challenger Burgess ahead of our own estate agents, as we knew they were more likely to find the answers we needed.
We worked initially with Paula and Elia. I can’t speak highly enough about the two of them. All emails were answered swiftly and they were always on the end of the phone when needed. They were incredibly professional, supportive and simply fantastic at their jobs. We would recommended them to anyone.

After listing with another agent for over a year and a sale falling through, we decided to relist our property with Challenger Burgess. I'd had previous chats with Paula, just before we accepted our first offer, while under a different agent and she had given me honest and pretty to the point advice. But due to activity in the market, she suggested I stayed put... this lead to our first offer coming in... Paula knows her stuff and I hugely respected that. But when this sale fell through, I had no doubt that I wanted her expertise from the off. One call and she got on the case, ready to relist the house. She didn't waste any time and within just over a week, we had 3 offers on the table and had experienced 10 viewings in the first 3 days. Outstanding! Georgie worked tirelessly to get us not only the best deal, but the best buyers for our home. They knew we were desperate to move and had very little time to waste, the house we wanted to buy weren't going to wait forever for us. I love the fact that Paula and Georgie are the only ones that do the viewings, they make you feel like you're the only people they're working with and when the proverbial hits the fan they make stuff happen. I only wish I had listed with them first time round, but hindsight is a wonderful thing. If you're selling a house in Portishead, look no further.

What can I say? Paula's incredible. She's an honest, knowledgeable estate agent with integrity and kindness. I didn't end up selling with Paula, but it's not because I didn't want to. I went to her for advice and to look to move to her after months with another agent and getting nowhere. Within minutes of being with Paula I got straight talking facts and complete honesty about where she felt we needed to be in the current market. This ultimately resulted in us accepting an offer pretty soon after. Sadly though, with the other agent. I just want anyone selling in North Somerset to simply take a few minutes to speak to Paula, you'll know you want to use her, straight away. Trust me!

Selling my property was not a decision I took likely in a very difficult market, who I chose to sell it with was even more important. Challenger Burgess came highly recommended to me which is always best coming from a good friend, and they didn’t disappoint.
They worked as a team with me at every step, which is what I loved most. I felt they meant every word and the communication from day one was just brilliant. You aren’t just another customer with them, they look at what you need, your property and you as an individual, really look after your needs. They do really care and I felt that throughout.
When push came to shove and things didn’t go as planed towards the end as can happen with any sale, the whole team went above and beyond working with my solicitor, with other contractors to help get the deal done. I can’t thank or praise them all enough. It was Paula and Elia doing a lot I know and had me constantly on email, phone or WhatsApp when we didn’t know if things would be ok... but you were all so lovely and helpful coming up with solutions.
I can’t say another Estate Agent would have gone to the efforts you did, or the deal would have even happened potentially. Who can say but I do feel you made it happen and I’m very grateful.

They were elusive from the beginning & almost impossible to reach by phone which proved highly frustrating & time-consuming. Right from the get go, we were very impressed with Challenger Burgess, from the initial valuation they were the only estate agent that didn’t just do the typical over flattering and promise of selling our house fast and over the asking price to try and win our business like the other three high street agents did. Instead they highlighted all the positives of the house (some of which we hadn’t even thought of ourselves) and all the possible objections that someone might have so that they could properly qualify potential buyers before viewings to avoid the inevitable time wasters. This is where Challenger Burgess’s experience really paid off as they properly vetted potential buyers and we sold the house within six days for 30k over the asking price to 1st time buyers! We couldn’t have asked for a better result as we had our eye on our dream house and needed a quick sale.
Our sale and purchase in the end was anything but straightforward and was incredibly stressful. However, if it wasn’t for their out-of-the-box thinking, tenacity and refusal to give up, we would have never moved.
Communication from Elia, Georgie and Paula throughout the whole process was excellent and was lovely to deal with like minded people who genuinely cared for their clients.
We couldn’t be happier with our new house and we will definitely be recommending them to everyone we know.

From the moment I put my offer in to picking up the keys, they were really good.
Paula has a very realistic approach with potential buyers, and in-fact was keen to have me view the property a second time before solidifying my offer. Totally makes sense when you think about it, but everyone is in such a rush to blow their life savings ????????.
Frankly though the process it was easier to get a progress update from Elia than my own solicitors. Was defo the go between with all parties and I imagine helped speed things along.

Paula and Georgie genuinely care and actively go out if their way to find the best outcomes for you. They're accessible, communicative, constantly reassuring and 100% on your side. They're brilliant with the kids, too.
We sold our house for more than the guide price, and had an offer accepted on another one, which they found for us, all within one week.

This is the second time that Paula has helped us sell and buy a property, in what is a very sensitive, personal situation. I cannot speak highly enough of the service that Challenger Burgess provide - most estate agents stop when your property gets sold. Not Paula! Nothing was too much trouble, she works tirelessly liaising between all parties, including conveyancing. The strange this about this review is that we have not used Challenger and Burgess services. Through various twists and turns out of our control we were unable to use them to sell our property and as our paths have crossed a few times whilst viewing a property or two we have found them to be very professional, personable and helpful. We recently sold through Challenger Burgess and it was a really positive experience. When we bought the house, Paula sold it to us (as an agent at a different estate agents), and was so good with it all, that we went directly to her as soon as we were selling. Paula and Georgie have been fantastic through out the process of selling our house. It has not been easy as we initially struggled to find a house to buy having sold ours.
Then the house we eventually decided to buy appeared to be simple with no chain but was a nightmare. Throughout the process the girls were incredibly supportive and pulled out all the stops to help get it over the line.

I found the upfront and honest attitude of Paula and Georgie really refreshing, I was clear about my sellers position and I could tell Challenger Burgess were committed to doing the best for both of us. Not hot air and strong arm sales tactics - just honest, clear support.
They were communicative throughout the process and on top of everything which was reassuring.
Paula was also able to recommend a number of local services too (mortgage broker, removals, surveyor) and they were also competitively priced but excellent service. It made my whole buying experience much smoother and more positive.

It was a very big decision to use Challenger Burgess to sell our house, and I am happy to say that it was exactly the right decision! Paula and Georgie were recommended to us and we found them to be approachable and supportive throughout the entire process. If you are looking for estate agents who truly care about their clients, I can highly recommend Challenger Burgess.
As first time sellers, we had no experience of the process and Paula and Georgie kept us in the loop and answered our numerous questions as and when they arose. We were very grateful to them for staying on top of the legal side of things, keeping us updated, managing enquiries and corresponding frequently with both our solicitors and the buyer’s solicitors to keep everything moving along and us reassured.
On completion, both ladies insisted on meeting us to wish us well, which we appreciated. We wish Challenger Burgess all the best as their business grows!
