You will not get a more tenacious estate agent than Gill at Charnock Bates. We had a 4 link chain and Gill would chase every link in the chain which in the end was instrumental in getting the sale through.
All correspondence would be answered within an hour but most usually within minutes. In summary couldn't ask for more.

Charnock were the estate agent we bought from so weren’t our actual estate agent. However the service received (from Gill in particular) was exceptional. Knowledgeable, skilled negotiator, dedicated, friendly and above all excellent communication. The biggest frustration in house moving is when things stand still and you can’t get hold of people. Gill is easy to reach and always pro-active in getting things resolved and keeping you up to date.

The valuation was spot on. House sold within 6 weeks. Photos and virtual walkaround are brilliant. Poor communication though up until the house sold at which point CB go into top gear and unleash their secret weapon, Gill!

I wanted to write a review of Charnock Bates - specifically Jacqui Goodall - even though we only bought through them and they didn't act for us in our sale. Frankly, I don't think our sale would have completed if it weren't for Jacqui who worked 7 days a week to chase things, email people and push things forward. Our estate agent was awful and so if I were ever to move again (which I hope not to!) I would without hesitation go to Jacqui. Jacqui stayed clam, reassuring and she was the only person who understood we were taking a week away in the 5 month process and didn't call us every day of our holiday to stress us out. I have no hesitation to recommend Jacqui and, apart from all that, she's a lovely lady who I got along with brilliantly. Thank you Jacqui, we appreciate you so much and everything you did to get us our dream home!

We appointed CB to sell our period property in December 2021. Leanne was our first point of contact when she came round to value our house. She was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful and I was sold on using them from then on. The quality of photography, brochure and 3D video tour of our house was outstanding. Once on the market, Holly and Megan were our point of contact. They were extremely efficient in keeping us updated on viewings and offering excellent advice when it came to choosing our buyer. We were then passed to Gill Bateson, their sales progressor, who was absolutely incredible. From day one she kept me in the loop about every single detail. Any bit of information she knew about the progress of our sale, she would call me. I appreciated the phone contact rather than emails as it felt a lot more personable and just easier to, especially as a busy mum. She deals with things in a very thorough way. Even when there were bumps in the road, as there are when selling houses, I had the upmost trust that she would ensure the sale would not fall through. At what could have been a stressful time, I didn’t feel that because Gill was by my side, every step of the way, finding solutions for everything. She had our back 100% and if she could help, she made sure she did! She went above and beyond. Without Gill, I’m not sure it would have been as smooth as it was. We started our journey way back in June 2021 starting the process of selling our home with Charnock bates and dealt with Meghan and a few of your sales team who were all very experienced, very approachable and did a wonderful job in getting our property sold.
After we had accepted an offer on the house we were put in touch with the lovely Gill Bates.
Gill has been phenomenal, very focused with the task in hand, always making each and every individual client a priority, but this did not show, as she made it seem as if we were always number 1 and I know she did that effortlessly for each and every one of her clients. That lady has a brain like a sponge too, never forgets a thing!
I am usually dubious about the role an estate agent plays in a house sale, but I honestly hand on heart can say that without Gill's pushing to complete I don't think we would have completed when we did, and on that basis the value for money was outstanding.

When I bought the property 6 years ago, Charnock Bates were acting on behalf of the seller, at that point I was really impressed with the team and said if I ever came to sell then they would be the estate agent to go to. Fast forward to four months ago and I gave them a call. A great purchasing and selling experience with Charnock Bates. Lisa from the Queensbury office simply couldn't do enough to support us through what was at times quite a challenging experience.

We used Charnock Bates for the sale of our house. We cannot fault them. The sale was during a particularly busy time for house sales due to covid and stamp duty reductions. The team at Charnock Bates and in particular Holly and Lisa were amazing. They kept us informed throughout the whole process and always returned calls. Towards the end of of sale there were delays due to searches taking a long time and other such things. Lisa was truly amazing she was efficient, professional and honest. We have already recommended Charnock Bates to friends who have their house for sale with them and are happy to date with the service. We could not recommend this estate agent enough.

The sale was a long process due to the corona virus. Good communication throughout the process. Some incorrect communication from buyers agent was called out and the sale delayed but we got through with a good outcome. Holly and Lisa are a great team. Did consider moving agent but they wanted to price below what we sold for so very happy to stay with Charnock Bates.

Not what I was hoping for. I was not aware that Charnock Bates became part of Walker Singleton in 2015 and I think consequently Charnock Bates' service is not what it used to be. Too many contact points for information on the property for sale, they did not "own" the process of selling the property, asking many questions to the vendor unnecessarily. For the level of commission involved, they could have put a lot more effort in and been more professional in how they managed the sale.
