From the initial visit by Ben who was extremely upbeat and enthusiastic about the sale whilst the competition were pessimistic and did not I still confidence at all. I would highly recommend Colwills.
From arranging to view the properties (I was travelling over 200 miles so they arranged for me to go around to several properties with their agent), to sorting references, payment of their fees and getting my keys, Colwills were friendly, helpful, and professional.
My landlord used to manage the property but they then transferred the management of the flat to Colwills. Throughout my time at the property (eight and a half years) they were always very helpful, flexible and easy to deal with.
When it came time for me to move on, which was my decision to move in with my partner, they were understanding and again a pleasure to deal with.
Over the years I have dealt with many estate agents and Colwills have been the best to deal with.

We have recently relocated to Bude and our purchase was sold by Colwills. I couldn’t recommend them enough, our move was complicated and stressful for many reasons (nothing in Colwills control) and the team were always helpful and supportive. A huge thank you to Gareth and Richard.
Gail in particular though was absolutely brilliant after our offer was accepted, always going above and beyond to keep things moving. We now have our dream home and couldn’t be happier. If and when we sell up, they will be my first call!

Gail, who was our main contact, has been absolutely amazing throughout the whole process and always took the time to update us, even when the news wasn’t so positive. She and the rest of the Colwills team are professional and friendly and make you feel like nothing is too much trouble.

House moves are generally stressful and prone to all sorts of problems and our latest, moving from Dorset to Devon has been no exception. Briefly we pulled out of a purchase and didn't want to lose our buyers so decided to rent for a few months, something we haven't done in years.
We checked out some properties and then contacted Colwills about one that had just appeared on Right Move.
From the start the whole process was handled in an efficient, friendly and relaxed manner. I can't speak highly enough of the people working at the firm. The whole transaction ran on rails and what could have added unwelcome extra anxiety proved to be the polar opposite.
Top effort and highly recommended.
PS as a sideline they can even direct you to the best pasty shop in Bude. :-)

We were living in the West Midlands and looking to move to the Bude area to be near family. Colwills had several properties that met our criteria. It's a 3 and 1/2 hour drive but Colwills were very good in arranging viewings to accommodate us including later when we needed to measure up for curtains etc pending purchase completion. Their local knowledge was invaluable in helping us to reach a purchasing decision.

Absolutely disgusting company, rude and inappropriate staff. In particular a keyboard warrior called Caroline. Complaints raised and clearly not bothered as Rob Colwill shows a clear bias and is not interested at all in customers also very rude. A thorough investigation takes more than a couple of days. Have took my complaint for independent review and have contacted the property ombudsman. Stay clear of this so called lettings agent
They lose emails sent to you, and they vanish magically from the audit trail. Luckily I have keep my own trail and have the evidence and photos of the state of the property when we moved in! We had to pay to throw out furniture because they were too lazy to get cleaners in before we moved in.
And it's clear to see the Vendetta rob holds against me for calling the company out as notice no reviews have a reply apart from this one!

Contrary to Mr Sean Watson's review of Colwills I would like to respond. I appointed Colwills as my letting agent and have had perfect service from them. That's more than I can say of Mr Watson and his partner Amy Stephens who were my last tenants,against whom, I eventually got a possession order from Barnstaple Court. They ignored the Section 21 notice to vacate which meant I had to apply to the court for the possession order. There was damage to the property as a result of a leak (not the fault of the tenants) which Colwills did their utmost to remedy. However, the tenants ignored requests to access the property so that a repair could be effected. Colwills had to chase them every month for the rent on my property, leaving e mails and phone messages which they seldom responded to. The aforementioned tenants left with a large sum of rent arrears which I believe they've offered to repay at 5GBP/month. Colwills provide a 5 star service.

Not as good as it used to be.
Had fish and chips there last week and two weeks previously, both times it was not as good.
They definitely need a new front man as the one that greets you is so miserable, never ever smiles.
I didn't get a hello either time and when I paid he just held the card machine up to me he didn't even tell me how much it was..
He's been there years perhaps it's time he moved on.

We must record our appreciation of the fantastic service we received from Colwills on the recent sale of a family property. We initially met 3 local agents. Rob's valuation on the property was spot on. Of the others, one was way too high and the other too low. Rob was firm in resisting our higher expectations and was proved to be right with a sale price being acheived just above his figure.
We were selling from 150 miles away and had to rely on the Colwills team to attend all viewings and handle the sale process. Gareth and Ben kept us fully advised on progress. We had a false start when the first buyer pulled out but they reassured us that we would get a sale and the eventual purchaser was soon on board.
As the sale progressed, Gail became involved. She offers the invaluable service of being able to talk to both parties and their legal teams to monitor progress. This was invaluable and kept us fully informed.
If Colwills operated in our area we would have no hesitation in using them and recommending them to all our family and friends. They are simply excellent.

We have recently completed the sale of a property using Colwills. We found them to be absolutely brilliant from beginning to end of the process. Extremely knowledgeable about the local market and how changes in the country are likely to impact it. They also have a dedicated person for sales progression, who keeps an eye on how the sale is progressing and deals with any issues as they come up. Colwills Estate Agency are the unique exception in my experience of estate agencies. I have had the privilege of speaking with the whole team in Bude at one time or another, and on each occasion have found them to be helpful, professional and knowledgable.
Colwills have attained that rare balance of personal and professionalIsm and they achieve this with remarkable ease.

We live 10 minutes from this beach it's fantastic you have great safety from the lifeguards a massive sandy beach, bude sea pool (save bude seapool) obviously the sea and the breakwater it's an all round enjoyable experience for all ages.

I was fortunate to discover Colwills whilst looking for a property to rent a while back. From the offset the team were extremely proffessional and seemed to go the extra mile to ensure everything ran smoothly and efficiently, not just throughout the process of finding a property but the service afterwards has been exceptional.
I personally dealt with both Matthew and Holly both very approachable and truly invest their time in finding you the right home and then afterwards ensuring you are happy and enjoying your new home. They are always on hand to help, answer any questions and resolve any issues. I have used Colwills a few times now to find new homes as I am totally confident these guys will always deliver, and their personal approach to making everyone feel individual is invaluable as meeting peoples individual needs and exceptions in a property is not always an easy task.
