House moves are generally stressful and prone to all sorts of problems and our latest, moving from Dorset to Devon has been no exception. Briefly we pulled out of a purchase and didn't want to lose our buyers so decided to rent for a few months, something we haven't done in years.
We checked out some properties and then contacted Colwills about one that had just appeared on Right Move.
From the start the whole process was handled in an efficient, friendly and relaxed manner. I can't speak highly enough of the people working at the firm. The whole transaction ran on rails and what could have added unwelcome extra anxiety proved to be the polar opposite.
Top effort and highly recommended.
PS as a sideline they can even direct you to the best pasty shop in Bude. :-)

Colwills have been absolutely brilliant during our time as tenants with them. They made everything so easy when we moved in and whenever something went wrong they were on it straight away. Moving out was just as easy handing in my notice and the deposit was paid back very quickly. I can highly recommend Colwills. Johnny

We were living in the West Midlands and looking to move to the Bude area to be near family. Colwills had several properties that met our criteria. It's a 3 and 1/2 hour drive but Colwills were very good in arranging viewings to accommodate us including later when we needed to measure up for curtains etc pending purchase completion. Their local knowledge was invaluable in helping us to reach a purchasing decision.

Absolutely disgusting company, rude and inappropriate staff. In particular a keyboard warrior called Caroline. Complaints raised and clearly not bothered as Rob Colwill shows a clear bias and is not interested at all in customers also very rude. A thorough investigation takes more than a couple of days. Have took my complaint for independent review and have contacted the property ombudsman. Stay clear of this so called lettings agent
They lose emails sent to you, and they vanish magically from the audit trail. Luckily I have keep my own trail and have the evidence and photos of the state of the property when we moved in! We had to pay to throw out furniture because they were too lazy to get cleaners in before we moved in.
And it's clear to see the Vendetta rob holds against me for calling the company out as notice no reviews have a reply apart from this one!

Contrary to Mr Sean Watson's review of Colwills I would like to respond. I appointed Colwills as my letting agent and have had perfect service from them. That's more than I can say of Mr Watson and his partner Amy Stephens who were my last tenants,against whom, I eventually got a possession order from Barnstaple Court. They ignored the Section 21 notice to vacate which meant I had to apply to the court for the possession order. There was damage to the property as a result of a leak (not the fault of the tenants) which Colwills did their utmost to remedy. However, the tenants ignored requests to access the property so that a repair could be effected. Colwills had to chase them every month for the rent on my property, leaving e mails and phone messages which they seldom responded to. The aforementioned tenants left with a large sum of rent arrears which I believe they've offered to repay at 5GBP/month. Colwills provide a 5 star service.
