Avoid. Bullying, pushy tactics and terrible communication. With zero documents signed or any written consent given they appointed themselves agents of our property after just a valuation and some phone calls, including placing a ‘For Sale’ sign without anyone’s knowledge! Our emails explicitly saying we were not making a decision on agents yet were ignored, they didn’t inform anyone they were placing the sign and denied that they acted unilaterally.

Chloe Tansley negotiated the sale of our new flat on behalf of the seller (i.e. we were the buyer), and she was incredibly proactive and professional. She was flexible enough to meet our rapidly changing schedule for subsequent viewings, very helpful explaining the process for first time buyers, and overly communicative which was a relief considering the process is notoriously opaque.
All in all, we exchanged in 12 weeks from offer (including the Christmas period where everyone was offline), which I think is a testament to her work and well below national average timelines.

We mostly dealt with Dan who helped us from across the pond to rent a fabulous home away from home.
Sadly once we paid the fees and deposit we had no more contact with Dan.
The move out experience was extremely frustrating. Especially for a foreigner.
It took over a month, many phone calls and emails later to get our deposit returned to us.
Too many different departments who have zero or very poor communication between them.
We were a very low priority.
We literally had to threaten legal action before finally getting our deposit returned.

We have received an exceptional service from Dexters Finsbury Park.
From our initial conversation with Raphael we were confident that he and his team would do their very best to get the best price for our property and hopefully find us our new home. And we were willing to pay their higher fee as we felt sure they would earn it. And we were not disappointed - they far surpassed our expectations. From day one they were efficient and communicated exactly what they were doing and what we needed to do to make things move forward (including recommending conveyancers, mortgage brokers and EPC providers). And within only a few weeks Raphael, Louie and Chloe had worked so hard that we had more than 20 buyers through the door to look at our property. This resulted in a number of offers and they secured us an offer that exceeded what other agents had quoted. Not only that Raphael showed us a number of properties and also got us in contact with other Dexters in North London so we had a wider range of properties to look at. This resulted in Raphael finding a property for us to move to which is perfect for us. I wish I had read all the negative reviews regarding this agency before I rented from them. It seem's as though people who sell with them have less issues than lowly renters. Certain members of staff are utterly incompetent. They spend the entire year ignoring emails and calls, unless they want something from you. Checking out was a complete nightmare, and the outrageous attempts to dock money from our deposit was quite frankly disgusting. Not to mention having our characters questioned, been called liars and making it as difficult as possible to get our deposit back. I am surprised this agency is even allowed to remain open.

I used Christopher Charles for ten years, first as a landlord and then as a vendor. Their service throughout has been excellent - very professional in their work and friendly people to work with. I would recommend working with them.

I'm not normally one to write a review about an estate agent but in this instance I have to say the guys/girls at this agency were great. As a renting tenant it was great to have an estate agent that was quick to take action on any legitimate requests made to them and to do so with good humour - a rarity indeed. On ending my tenancy they helped me identify suitable cleaners, carried out a spot check quickly and returned my deposit to the penny in days. No problems - no fanfare. A great team - well done!

I'm happy to say that these guys are not your average estate agents. May sound like a false post, but they are so nice. Happy to help, knowledgeable about the area, decent and honourable. Our good experience while living in Finsbury Park has been exacerbated by our interactions with the staff at Christopher Charles. Thanks for everything guys!
