Very rewarding to finally experience an estate agent of the calibre of D R Kivell. I chose the firm because I liked the idea of an owner/manager set-up. D R Kivell say their main differentiator is the way the property is presented. That's certainly true, the attention to detail by Peter was hugely impressive. However, I'd add another stand-out quality: the way Geoff kept on top of a 4 party chain, pushing things along and sending me weekly updates. The other agents in the chain reinforced my decision to choose D R Kivell. Not the cheapest but certainly the best!... Read more

DR Kivell demonstrated a disgraceful lack of communication and misled me as a potential buyer after cancelling an auction. They were lazy and did not make much, if any effort to get competing offers. I am not sure they represented their client very well to get the best price. I was an unencumbered cash buyer and they could not be bothered to let me know what was going on with the sale of the property despite having a viewing in the diary and shown a lot of interest. I have made a formal complaint but David is now said to be on annual leave for 3 weeks so make your own interpretation of this. Seriously best avoided.... Read more

We found a wonderful bungalow (Valley View) for sale with D R Kivell and we were shown round with a lovely gentleman whose name was Geoff Lupton. At that time we were looking for a buyer for our house, with not much sign of a sale. Geoff kept in touch with us on a regular basis to keep us informed of any developments with Valley View and of course to see if there was any progress with our sale. Geoff was very happy to give us a 2nd viewing of VV, but sadly we were unable to conclude the purchase. We bought our property via D.R.Kivell and we found Geoff Lupton to be really helpful which made things go much smoother. As we were new to the area we asked Geoff for suggestions of a local chartered surveyor, septic tank specialist and Cornish removal firm and he gave us some firms to contact and choose from, all we would recommend . Geoff kept us up to date with progress and highlighted when there was a hold up so we could chase from our side.
