Disappointing Experience with Incompetent State Agency
While I was able to secure a rental property relatively quickly through this agency, which I will give them credit for, the experience thereafter has been nothing short of disappointing. I have encountered an unprecedented level of unprofessionalism that I have never experienced before from a state agent.
The behavior of one particular agent, Shelley, is highly concerning. Not only have I been subjected to unacceptable outbursts and shouting, which has caused significant distress, but it also appears that Shelley is in dire need of customer service training. Her priorities seem to be misplaced, as she is often preoccupied with activities such as selling properties, attending team meetings with her feet on the table, or assisting NASA with their space missions, rather than addressing client queries and concerns.
Despite numerous attempts over the course of nearly 15 days, my emails and inquiries have gone unanswered, leaving me feeling neglected and disregarded. It is unfortunate that the only way to capture their attention appears to be through negative reviews and financial consequences.
Furthermore, the property I was provided lacks proper maintenance, and the agency has chosen to ignore all requests for addressing these issues, which is a shameful disregard for their responsibilities.
Based on this experience and the numerous negative reviews from others, it is evident that this agency falls short of providing satisfactory service and professionalism. I should have heeded the warnings from previous reviews before engaging with them.
After many issues with the property, the landlord/agent never replies to emails or any complaints. We have been having issues with the boiler and have made two unsuccessful attempts to fix it. Now we need help from the agent after a deep clean from the previous tenants and bad state of the garden, and as always, they keep ignoring emails.

Arranged a viewing with my partner for 6pm. Called several times to confirm viewing as we were travelling over an hour away and never showed up. Stuck around for 20 minutes just to give the benefit of the doubt. Tried calling several times and no answer either. Time and petrol wasted thanks to this estate agents. Incredibly unprofessional!!
Update; we arrived at 5:30 and stayed until 6:30pm. Yes, we knocked a few times and clearly no one was at home. We attempted to call the office and there was no answer. We left a note and the tenant eventually called us. Regardless of who is supposed to show us around, the estate agents are the ones managing the sale of the property. In the time we were scheduled to have our viewing and when we actually got to see the property, we placed an offer elsewhere.

I have been searching for a flat for a long time, with no luck. I found this one and Shelley was on it so quickly - she got me a viewing and moved in within two weeks. Absolutely fabulous service. She was very lovely to speak to, very helpful and went through everything with me, again quickly, but clearly. I get the impression that she is organised down to the minute in all aspects of her life which I relate to! I highly recommend this estate agency - they are small and care, unlike larger ones where there are ridiculous requirements. Can't thank her enough really!

Edward Clark helped sell our house recently. Clark and Shelly have been a huge help, in seeing us get through to the end (which was no easy feat). They supported us with staying connected with all parties and agents involved. Moving can be a stressful time but with everyone’s help at Edward Clark it was a little easier. I appreciate the time they gave me when I needed guidance, support or someone to rant/cry to. If you have to sell your house, choose Edward Clark.

I had very bad experience with this Edward Clark Estates agency..
(It was all good until Russel was no longer working there)
If possible - AVOID..
I found them very unprofessional,
I had to chase this agency on a daily basis to get anything done..
Few times I asked them to put me trough to the manager they would promise me that they will call me back.. NEVER DID..
There was quite few times where I actually felt harassed by them..

AVOID THIS AGENCY IF YOU CAN … - Edward Clark Estate Agents are a joke…..
Don’t want to help you to sort out any outgoing issues with the house or give you your deposit back..
Lack of communication with each other, promise to call you back never does…
Please read below to see only few situations I had to experience with them…
1- Boiler pump broke– I had to wait about a month of excuses that the landlord can’t find a part to fix it (new pump cost £150) .. At the end, I had to hire contractors myself..
2- On the moving out they have asked me to pay crazy money for the holes on the walls I have drilled to hang the paintings, but the funny part was that they have already had charged me for that and we had paperwork to prove it…( it just shows how they lack communication with each other..)
3- 3 weeks after I moved out they called me to say that they found some web in the corners and they will charge me over £100 for a clean.. (3 weeks after I moved out from the property.……..)
4- The biggest absurd was when they tried to charge me for the outside door mat that I bought MYSELF and left there when I moved out because it was ripped ..

We have had a fantastic experience dealing with Edward Clark Estates. We dealt with Alfie from viewing through to signing. It wasn't always straightforward and efficient due to our circumstances although Alfie was patient and went above and beyond to make sure we got the property we really wanted. Estate agents often get a bad name but the service and care we have had has been second to none.

We moved to Australia in 2012 and have been letting our house with Edward Clark Estates for the past 8 years. It's not easy when you are so far away but Shelley has been so good looking after everything for us. Everything has just been ticking over like a well oiled machine.
We recently decided to sell the property and she got that done within 2 days as well! Could not be any happier with that and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I have used Edward Clark twice to move house and have found them to be reliable, honest, helpful and genuine. They are not like some of the estate agents in Grays that will say anything to get your business only to leave you disappointed when it comes to backing up their promises.
They did everything they said they would and managed to get me an improved offer after an original sale fell through on one occasion. This improved my sale price by over 20%.
Cannot recommend them highly enough.
Only criticism would be the addition of routine floor plans. Just something I like, although I can't say it had any detrimental effect on my sales.

This by far has to be one of the worst estate agency experiences I’ve had to date.
Baring in mind I was previously an estate agent so I’m very aware of the level of customer services that should be provided.
The estate agents in Edward Clark Estate Grays need training in customer services extensively!
Shelly Tramain (might be incorrect spelling of surname) is quite possibly the epitome of a terrible estate agent with no grasp of what the difference is between an open house and appointments.
If you enjoy being treated as though you are renting or purchasing a property for free, by all means go with this estate agency.
However if you want the correct estate agency experience that everyone deserves I suggest you go elsewhere.
If I could rate Edward Clark Estate Grays a zero I would.

I used Edward Clark Estate Agents recently to sell my house in Corringham and set them a challenge to find our 'forever' home and we had specific criteria. They found it for us in Fobbing within a couple of weeks at the most. They stayed in regular contact throughout the whole process and made it very smooth for us indeed and i could speak to someone straightaway everytime i called the office. We could not be more grateful. Special mention for Shelley Tremain. We could not have done it without her! 5 star service. Would use again and would highly recommend

Been living at Salisbury Road now for just over 2 and a half years and I have to say I highly recommend these guys, much much better than my previous estate agents I dealt with. The staff at Edward Clark go over and above to ensure they provide the most efficient and friendly service. They are very helpful in every service they provide and completed everything I asked with a very short turn around and I cannot thank them enough for this. They were highly professional with dealing with every request. I would highly recommend them to anyone with any aspect of property.

All the staff were amazing and so helpful and didn’t mind me phoning every day! They were by me every step of the way and even pushed my solicitors into early completion! None of them pushed me into buying a house they let me look and left me to my own judgement, they answered all my questions and I’d previously looked at 13 other houses with so many different estate agents and am so glad I went with Edward Clark estates... would recommend to anyone!

Worst experience I have ever had dealing with these very rude staff. If you want to be spoken to like rubbish threatened pay endless fees. Then they would be highly recommended. Save your money go elsewhere. John

I don't usually leave reviews but I have made the exception with fantastic Edward Clark Estates. hardworking staff with a brilliant work ethic that made everything so smooth for me and my partner when we moved into our first house, Chloe was very responsive when we needed anything and they always made sure if any repairs needed doing that they got done ASAP. They are always contactable and super professional. It's like the team treat the properties as their own homes. Couldn't recommend them enough.

Was told that I could rent a property, as I had a dog, with certain conditions in place. Arranged an appointment with myself for 2 days later to bring down the relative paperwork to there office so I could rent the property . On turning up, I was told that they didn’t even know I had an appointment and that the landlord was now undecided about the dog. I appreciate that it is the landlords prerogative to change his mind, but to not be informed of this and to not even be aware I had an appointment is very unprofessional! I asked them on leaving their office to inform me of the final decision regarding the rental, but they failed to do this as well. Very poor communication skills, very unreliable!!!

Speaking from my experience of them dealing with a flat sale, I would definitely recommend Edward Clarke. They were on hand right from the very start and were extremely efficient in dealing with issues especially when I had a buyer pull out and they were able to line up another buyer the same day. Negotiated a reasonable fee and worth the money.
