I hate writing awful reviews but sometimes it’s a must. Me and my boyfriend were on the search for a new property. We were so excited to view a property in Chagford. All was smooth sailing, we moved in mega quick and we were so happy. 3 months in my boyfriend reads me an email tonight to say after the 6 months we won’t be extending your tenancy. We are both are shock, people have been so quick to moan and complain about us but never hear our side. I’ve reported so many problems about our house and it doesn’t even get the slightest attention to fix the problems and we are worried we are going to be penalised for something’s that aren’t our fault. Ive been here so many times after hearing this is a long term let, 6 months goes by and you got to move on, we are good decent, hard working young couple who is just trying to find our way and we are being kicked out for made up reasons our neighbours have lied about. We don’t deserve this. You just cannot win in this world!... Read more

Drove 4.5 hours to view a property that was labeled as "ready for and in great condition" I also rang the agent before setting off asking explicitly if there were any issues not noted in the description, as I didn't want to waste 9 hours of driving. It turned the pictures of the property were 3 years out of date and the property was in a state of disrepair with mould, rotten beams, render falling off the walls, the garden looked like it hadn't been looked after. Not a great experience, I tried on a few occasions to get in touch to arrange a house viewing with no luck. My wife eventually managed to book a viewing but after 25 minutes of waiting, no curtesy call saying they would be late and us trying multiple times to contact them we got fed up and left without being able to see the house.... Rented one property from this agent. Do not go anywhere near this company. Absolute criminals. This is the first time I have needed to turn to the police to report an agent. The agent allowed the property owner to enter my home while I was away. Jewellery, money and family antiques were stolen. I am absolutely disgusted. Crooks.... Read more

This will be the second time we have instructed Fowlers to sell our house and we also worked with them to sell our daughters house. We have nothing but praise for the quality of the service. This is a long standing independent agent and they have a wealth of knowledge about selling properties here on Dartmoor. Buyer beware. Renters beware. The owner of this agency is regularly in breach of contract and has been involved in two illegal evictions in the last three months. Quite a disappointment to experience this side of Chagford. We fired fowlers. While I was overseas helping my husband recover from a diving accident that almost took his life (he suffered two strokes), our home was illegally entered regularly by the landlord. Several valuables went missing. Emails to the landlord went unanswered. Fowler's response was an email stating the property was no longer under their management. This was false. Fowlers management of the property continued. While this was happening at our rental property, another client of fowlers was experiencing the same at his property. It seems fowlers has a business model that involves finding kind people to rent run-down properties and fix them at their own expense. An assured shorthold tenancy agreement (which they have no intention of renewing) gives a tenant just enough time to invest a large sum of money and hard work to restore the grounds, purchase landscaping equipment, and furnish a three bedroom. Six months' prepaid rent further line the landlord's desperate pockets. If you have experienced abuse, discrimination or anti social behaviour from this company or a landlord, do not hesitate to contact Devon Police and your local council. Protect your rights.... Absolutely terrible experience. Parford Cottage is infested. Rental contract was misleading. Included a landscaper, gardener and a pool manager. We pay for all of these which costs us an additional $700 per month. The property is infested with wood lice, spiders and flies. The wood lice fall from the cupboards onto the kitchen counter and into our cooking. The kitchen cupboards smell of mildew. The agent does not respond to us regarding the infestation nor have they addressed the issue with the neurotic neighbour at Parford Farm who has started bullying us and is constantly outside our windows early in the morning. Our privacy has been invaded. Avoid this agent. We made a mistake. Bristol was a better place.... Read more

We contacted them 3 times to view a property, but they haven't replied. Today is the 2nd January and their answer machine has a message on it stating its the 18th of December. Dozey to say the least.
