We have been dealing with Tom Hughes at the branch for a few months now. I literally cannot big him up enough. I am from a low-middle income family with a 95% mortgage. He has managed to get my home revalued, reduce my mortgage term by 4 years and save me £100 per month on my mortgage. He is literally a wizard. My little family doesn't have much money in the grand scheme of things and we work very hard for what we have. The saving this offer will make for us, with the reduced term, gives us so much opportunity. He has also managed to get us life insurance at an amazing rate, despite some difficult medical issues. He is always honest with his reccomendations, not to mention super friendly and always happy to help. Tom- thank you for your hard work. I wish I had read the reviews before signing up with Geerings and Colyer. We were advised that we would have ‘Professional’ photos taken of our property, these apparently should cost £149, however if you use their legal services you get them free, all I can say is don’t bother, the photos were awful! Basic spelling mistakes on the first live ad, along with no photos for three days (the key period), this seems to be quite a common practice of Geering and Colyer. During a conversation with the agents attempting to sell our property we were advised we lost a potential buyer because we ‘didn’t have a garage’, I cannot tell you how appalled I was when I explained to the agent we did have a garage opposite the property that they had visited multiple times and they even had taken a photo of it. We finally got a buyer on the last weekend of our contract which then two weeks later fell through. So all in all no sale of a very well presented, competitively priced house in a very popular residential area in Ashford in 8 weeks. We were told in the sales pitch at the beginning by Chris that he would be asking questions if our house didn’t sell within 2 weeks. It seems to me they are more interesting in selling there mortgages and financial products rather than houses.... Read more

This is the first negative review I have ever left for a company but here we are. So where to start? Patronising - After paying over £400 for a buyers survey and raising some concerns with the estate agent I had a very unprofessional return call from one staff member who was by far the worst person I have ever delt with. Even saying "Did you even read the survey? We knew the windows needed replacing". The windows made up only 10% of the concerns raised by the survey. Does she think I am honestly going to pay over £400 for a document and not even read it?? What a stupid thing to say. Unprofessional - Their staff appear to have little knowledge about the housing market and make it up as they go along. They will list houses way above their market value just to get them on their books knowing full well that they won't sell for the listing price. Why is this important? Well for the seller they are paying a high price for premium listings etc only to get no attension as the house is listed way higher than it's value. This has a big negative effect for both the seller (raising expectations of price, limits viewings) and buyer (appearing to be priced out of certain houses when not the case) Bad communication - If you like very basic single sentence emails this is the company for you. Also very hard to get hold of the manager via phone. Unnecessary middle man - Thank god I had direct communication with the seller, it was a much smoother process than it could have been (even though I was told it's "against their policy", yeah no wonder because with a seller and buyer having direct communication it's impossible for you to justify your job). Having to deal with G & C as the middle man would have likely caused me to loose the house. They do not keep you up to date with the process, you find yourself guessing where you're at and if you still have the house. ------ While I benefited from these points being a buyer if you are selling a house best to steer clear of this agent. Horrible photography - the pictures they take are very bad, low quality images, horrible angles, not showing the full house (likely because they try and change the customer more for photos even though its in theirs and their clients best interest to show more photos) Worst listings I have seen - Check all of their listings on Zoopla, they are just thrown together showing no desire to sell the house. It's worrying that so many people pay to be represented by this company when they can't even create a good listing for the houses they are selling. Reading the other reviews it's shocking that they think they can charge for photos when they have the worst of any estate agent I have seen. To sum up it was a very bad experience throughout. Would never use again if I could help it and I certainly can't recommend them to anyone.... Read more

Unfortunately we were less than impressed with this agency. We must have been impressed at the time we gave our instructions but in hindsight we were hasty in choosing an estate agent. Everything was positive at first - we were told there was an exhaustive list of potential buyers but that really cake to nothing and most of them cancelled within an 30 mins - 1 hour of the viewings. We’d go for two weeks or so with no viewings at all. I really don’t think they could be bothered with us. After having signed up for a 12 week contract, this was incredibly frustrating. We had to pay a fortune in order to achieve decent photos whereas other agencies offered this as part of their service as well as prime position on Rightmove which Geerings said you have to pay for. They are amazingly amateur and seemed to really not care. Their communication was terrible and after 12 weeks we didn’t hesitate to take it off their books. Fortunately for them, they (or rather Mann which are part of the same group and I’d say they were better) found a buyer just in time. We didn’t have any communication from Geering following this and nothing even after we exchanged/completed - charming! The sales progressive contacted me once and again nothing at all following exchange/completion and yet they will of course tell you in their sales speech that they pride themselves on communication. I would never use this agency again and would never recommend it.... Read more
