I was disillusioned by the whole process. Communication was poor around what was expected in regards to EPC. The marketing was poor and I was being sent houses in the area I was trying to sell. I have now taken my house off the market and will be very cautious when putting it back on the market.

And we was lucky to have Sandra (mortgage advisor from countrywide), she was very helpful, friendly, explaining every detail we need to know, after completing papers and get keys, she still helping for us if have any questions . Strange to see so many good reviews, though I suppose there were only 5 from this year, and all June or before. My first complaint went in within 10 days. It was partly resolved by allowing me to go multi agency. It was quickly sold through Wards of Dover over 2 weeks ago. Geerings were informed and asked if they could take their board away. Today their board is still in my garden. Today I find out that Geerings have re-advertised my property without my permission, causing a slight panic with my buyers. A second complaint has gone in today. A couple of years ago they were regarded as a very good estate agent in Dover but you must always put the effort in to stay at the top. Not rely on yesteryear.

Although I have not ended up purchasing through Geering & Colyer, I still wanted to post this review.
I have dealt with Aiden Flynn over the past few weeks, and he has been amazing! Going well above and beyond the call of duty for me - to not only help me find a property, but to assist with my sale (as I had been having trouble with my agent) when it was not something he had to do at all.
It is unfortunate that the property I am purchasing is not with Geering & Colyer, as based on the service and help Aiden has given, buying through them would be a breeze!
I cannot thank him enough, so hopefully this 5 star review will do!

Rude and arrogant staff member, I went to the Dover branch as I was interested in a property they have on their books and as a first time buyer I am looking to see what I can get for my Budget. I began to explain my situation and said I'd be in a position to but towards the end of the year, at this point the member of staff figuratively slammed the door in my face, stating that no estate agent would entertain a viewing unless I was ready to move straight away - this is not true as the helpful and professional staff at Ward & Partners Dover branch are showing me around a property later this week and are fully aware of my situation.
In short Geering & Colyer have lost a potential customer and I would advise others to proceed with caution if looking to buy or sell a property using this estate agent.
Advice for Geering & Colyer Staff:
1. Manners, they cost nothing.
2. Treat people with respect .
3. A persons situation can change overnight, the person you turn away today will be someone else's customer tomorrow.

Good communication, good listing, agents were enthusiastic. The only downside was the cost, which was a little high.

TERRIBLE SERVICE- NEVER CHOOSE THEM OR ELSE YOU WILL ONLY GET STRESS
I wasn’t told my flat is no longer advertised unless I called them and then I was shocked to find out that my flat was rented without having a Tenancy agreement signed, without receiving deposit
They did not close my utilities as promised, I ended up paying bills while my tenant was living in , I needed to sort it out myself
They always need to be chased up, do not pay attention to their paper work (references which are extremely important)
Do not keep their promise and always find a fault being technology etc
SIMPLY DO NOT CHOOSE THEM RENT OUT BY YOURSELF

I have always rented privatley before but after having trouble with my last landlord i thought i would try via an agency. I found Geering and Colyer to be very helpful in finding the right property for my needs, although they did not have anything for me to at first they kept me up to date with all the lastest properties which became available, the staff are very friendly and approchable. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to rent a property locally.
