Harassing phone calls for over 5 months. I am deaf so requested them to remove my data stored and no phone calls, they call me multiple times a day, at any time, across multiple months. It's ridiculous. I've used the WhatsApp number to let them know. I've answered despite being deaf and told them and then hung up (obviously unable to hear their response). My recently renovated flat with sea views was marketed through Gilbert and Rose. After failing to come out and value my property they started marketing it on the usual platforms and managed 1 viewing in 3 months and I had to chase them 4 times to even get the 1 booked in. Despite numerous broken promises from senior management that they would turn things around they never did manage to get another buyer through the door. Don't waste your energy there are plenty of diligent agencies in the area that bother to take the time to visit and value properties... In addition, there is a lot of paperwork to fill in when you appoint G&R then they call you and text you asking all the same questions about your property that you answered in their online portal when you appointed them. I am sure to have grown the business to this point the team did a great job at one point, but their sales team as of Spring 2024 have not been able to provide even a basic level of customer service.... This is a review of three parts! The sale: From the moment we first met Spencer in my home we knew we was in safe hands. He talked us through the whole process, answered all our questions and made us feel at ease. As he left he said “we will have this flat sold by Monday and you’ll be moving by September….” Wow I thought, that’s ambitious! Next we meet Megan, she arranged an open house for the following Saturday, she had 11 viewings booked! On the morning of the open day, we went out for the day and left Megan to run the show leaving us full of anticipation and excitement. Saturday evening we got the call to say someone would like a second viewing, this was arranged for the Monday afternoon and we accepted an offer that evening! (Maybe Spencer has a crystal ball!) The Purchase: This was also through Gilbert and Rose. This time we was greeted by Josh at the property we viewed. From the moment we met Josh it felt like we knew him. He was very warm, knowledgeable and charming. He answered all my questions. Even the most random ones and he didn’t batter an eyelid when I tested the internet speed ????. We left wanting this as our new home. We arranged a second viewing and made an offer, Josh handled all the negotiations and put was at ease. He secured our future home within our budget! The Exchange: Next we met Claire. Claire was our sales progression agent, and what a journey we went on together. Claire coordinated the whole chain and linked together all the solicitors, she provided weekly updates and as exchange neared, daily updates. She pushed all the solicitors and other estate agents in the chain to ensure we got the exchange across the line within our timeframe. She was on hand to answer my questions and I had many of them! I had some stressful moments and she worked with me to get things sorted. We have now exchanged and Spencer being true to his word we are completing early September. She was such a great help under stressful circumstances. Always available to help with problems and cheerful and sympathetic...and she got things done! On completion day I had my removal van outside my new property and we still hadn't completed. Karen was WFH that day but another member of the team made phone calls and reassured me until finally, at 5pm, I was given the keys. I entrusted Gilbert and Rose with the task of selling my property earlier this year and within the first week, they found me a buyer. Unfortunately the sale fell through due to some problems with the buyers mortgage and we had to start all over again. Gilbert and Rose found me another buyer almost straightaway and I am glad to say that contracts were exchanged only yesterday. From start to finish, I felt that I was in the right hands and and furthermore, I had the benefit of right professional advice available to me. When the sale started to progress, I was kept updated regularly and I never had to chase them for anything. Their Sales Progressor, Claire Skillbeck was simply amazing. She liaised with the buyers/solicitors and my solicitors and got the task accomplished at a fast pace. I was reading in the media that sales were taking in excess of 5 months to complete and I was a bit apprehensive however, Claire managed to surprise me. There came a moment during the sale when I needed the right professional advice and I am so glad that Claire was there to help me.
