Hancocks were truly beyond brilliant in their support, I felt that they really ventured far above and beyond any reasonable expectation.It can not be over emphasised just how important this kind of true empathy and support is when things get tough. Their kindness and support was genuine, unexpected and so very much appreciated.
I dealt with several members of staff, Huw and Sam included but Joel Cross became my primary contact as matters dragged on.
Joel was a real star helping me to read between the lines and offering continual reassurance both on the telephone and with accurate written communication.I highly commend Joel, a thoroughly professional and very personable young man. If I could give less than 1 star I would. I have been a tenant in an Hancock and Partners flat for 4 years now. In that time I have them and contractors enter the flat without the OK to do so. I have multiple late/missed appointments and inspections with no heads up of the cancellations - the latest cancellation happening because the staff members electric car wasn’t charged up. Building internal and external maintenance issues are hardly ever fixed, and if they are it takes an absolute age. And lastly, the staff are extremely rude and patronising. If you are looking to rent in Chichester and surrounding area, I urge you to stay away from this agency.
As an example of how this company acts - our roof began to leak in the winter, with the water sparking the electrics in the ceiling, coming through the fire alarm fixtures and entering our property. Hancocks reply to our landlord regarding the situation was ‘tell them to stick a bucket under the leak and get on with it’. There has been numerous example of malpractice, but this is just one in a long line of them.

Joel Cross was most friendly and anxious to help me find the right flat, arranging a viewing very promptly of one he thought might suit me. My situation is a bit complicated but Joel listened patiently to my requirements and we had a pleasant and useful discussion. In the end something I had found elsewhere turned out unexpectedly to be available and I was sorry not to be dealing with Joel. Rented two properties from them - first was riddled with mould, when we moved to the next one there were ongoing problems including mould and pests. This agent did the property up before we moved in but it was exceptionally low standard work - bathroom had to be redone. Paintwork was constantly coming off the walls. When we bought a house they then tried to charge us for this work to be redone. They didn’t let me speak on the phone, constantly arguing with us to try and get our money. The Deposit Protection Service voted in our favour and we got our deposit back.
Would not pick this estate agents - in it for the money and do not act fairly. Always go through DPS and do not negotiate or feel threatened by them.

Do not rent from them!! Avoid at all costs, the place was mouldy and reported multiple times without anything getting done to it. Money grabbers from the beginning to the end. We wrote so many emails and got us nowhere they just don't listen to your needs, avoid them at all costs. I'm sure there are plenty of nice agencies in the area, this is not one of them. If I could give less than one star I certainly would.

To anyone looking at renting with these people beware, after arranging a viewing with them, I travelled 3 hours from south wales to be told sorry that I cant view the property as I wasn't there! In a dicusting manner! Explaining I was there just at the wrong end and that I travelled the distance I did to be getting repeatedly told you wanst there! Unprofessional!!!!!! And will be getting repeatedly to the right authority's

Really great and efficient company! I somehow lost my house key and therefore couldn't lock the door because it only locks when you put the key in it from the outside. I was frantic because I was going to be late for work and didn't have a spare key so called Hancock & Partners and Henry, one of the associates, told me not to worry and that he'd come round with a spare key to lock the flat. Literally after the call ended he was there within 15 minutes, plus they let me keep the key haha. I really appreciate little things like that, it makes all the difference !

Hancock & Partners team have been great throughout our rent experience. We were looking for a place over one of the most busy periods of the year and the team there (especially Laura) still took the time to explain everything to us, reply to our emails and help us with a virtual viewing. Once we moved in, Aimee took great care of everything that needed some TLC and now we couldn't be happier with our property. I have let my property for 13 years with Hancock & Partners. They have always found me good tenants by doing diligent checks on their suitability. My property has had no gaps in letting during this time. I have always found the staff polite and helpful dealing with all queries in a professional manner. I have recently sold my property through Hancock & Partners and the Agents worked tirelessly to ensure a positive outcome. They were conscientious in their advertising, viewings and feedback. The agents communications were excellent, something which is the top priority for buyers and sellers. I would strongly recommend them as Very Good Letting and Selling Agents.

The calm determination of Hancock and Partners to succeed in the sale of my somewhat unique property was outstanding apart from some very early setbacks in the midst of Covid. Henry Prager rose to the challenge. Throughout the selling process he was courteous, endlessly obliging under pressure, kept me informed, helped with pre-contract enquiries and always referred to one of the partners when necessary. Unfortunately had to avail their services twice.
Was asked to take Tenant Liability Insurance on the false pretext that its a legal requirement in the UK. Was asked to clean carpets professionally, although was in the property for only 6 months with no major difference to how it was at the start of tenancy. Definitely DO NOT recommend.

My experience with them was above my expectations. The company's staff was very friendly and welcoming they always respond very quickly on my questions and always are ready to help me with any problem. My agent would always keep me informed of the progress regarding any of my concerns. My best experience of using a letting agent. I would surely use their services in future. Absolutely useless. Various dangerous issues with the property (bathroom ceiling falling in, radiators not working, incorrect inventory... etc) throughout the entire tenancy, and when told about these problems all we ever heard was "maintenance have been told about it...".

And now that we have moved out (thankfully!) they are trying to forward bills on to us from after the end of the agreement! Guess they can pay with the deposit they helped themselves to, which should rightly be back with us tenants as we left the house in better conndition than when we moved in!
Rude staffed, money-grabbing, useless and outright rubbish estate agents!

Quite frankly the rudest company I have ever been unfortunate to deal with. Very unprofessional I would steer clear, If I had read these reviews first I would have saved myself a lot of bother. Steer clear of Hancock's an use a professional estate agent.

My husband and I probably should have gotten the idea that Hancock and Partners were terrible right from the start. When we made the appointment to view a house, after being 20 minutes late, the agent never phoned or apologised to us and didn't even introduce herself upon meeting us. We really loved the house though and have had problems with them ever since. Our garden wall fell over and has been like that for 2 months already, with rude responses from them when we phone to find out what is happening. We have been treated so badly and will NEVER go with them again. We cannot wait for the 6 month lease to end so that we can go with someone who is more professional and generally just does a job properly.
