Choosing the right estate agent to sell your property can be a worrying time... is the valuation correct, will they be able to sell my property and how professional are they? Heritage have been excellent from start to finish. Communication has been perfect, timely telephone calls and emails kept us informed, all by a very dedicated staff who we felt were working for our benefit. Delays further down the chain were chased and the hard work of Stephen smoothed out some of the hold-ups . Heritage is a truly professional Estate Agency that we have no hesitation in recommending .

When we decided to sell our timber-frame cottage we initally went with a "chain" agent because we thought that they would have a bigger reach. This was a mistake. Although we had plenty of viewings, we received almost no feedback, they didn't understand the type of house or the peculiarities of a heritage home and, when an offer was made and we made a counter-offer, it wasn't chased up. On one occasion we came home and the alarm hadn't been set and, on another, the door wasn't locked. So, disheartened, we gave up.
After a break we decided to try again and this time asked Heritage to help. What a difference! Everything was so much more polished. The photos were done by a professional photographer, they understood all about older properties, we received feedback after every viewing, the alarm was always set and the door was always locked. When an offer was received it was negotiated promptly and a mutually agreeable figure was reached.
Even though it was a small chain of just 2 houses, the conveyancing process was a mine-field with lots of complex issues at the bottom of the chain and, to be quite honest, there were times that we almost gave up. If it hadn't been for Tracy who was eternally calm and persistent, even when we got a bit tetchy, we probably would have walked away. Tracy made endless phone calls chasing solicitors and the other agent even though it shouldn't have been down to her. She built excellent relationships with the buyers, agents and solicitors in the chain and did everything she could to ensure that the sales were brought to a sucessful conclusion.
We finally completed today and, if you are looking for an agent in mid-essex, particularly if you have an older property, then I can highly recommend Heritage. We would also like to give a big thank you to Tracy without whom we may not have sold our house.

I had my recently renovated property advertised for rent with a couple of nationwide, and well known agencies. I had little activity and the viewers clearly weren’t well vetted, so after becoming frustrated I contacted Andy, and I don’t know why I didn’t sooner, and we set the ball rolling with photos and activity. Within a week or so I had well vetted and qualified viewers who have now become tenants. It has been a really painless exercise, with Joanne being fabulous with her communication and attention to detail. If you are buying/renting or becoming a landlord, don’t pass Andy and team by. Frustrating to deal with, objections to viewing properties that are mailed over to us. Great tone to the voices that pick up the phone, then the excuses begin as to why a property can’t be viewed. It’s like dealing with double glazing sales people from the 80’s.

Moving during a pandemic was never going to be easy. However without the professionalism of Amy and Vicky at Heritage, I am not sure that we would have had a successful transaction. The actual selling of our house was the easy bit as the first to view, bought, however the tenacity of Amy chasing the chain via solicitors and estate agents and keeping everyone informed made sure the transaction concluded satisfactorily. At the time it was very stressful, but looking back, it was a good move. We chose to sell our house through Heritage, partly as they seemed to have captured the market with the older period properties, but mainly because of the team and their ethos.
We first met Tracy whilst viewing a property on behalf of a family member and we were impressed by her knowledge and how responsive she was but we also just loved her personality. When we decided to sell our house my husband and I both said, let’s call Tracy from Heritage – she is exactly the right person to sell our house!
Andy, the director of Heritage, came out and valued the house. Meeting him confirmed we had put our trust in the right company. He gave us great advise and wasn’t pushy or preachy in anyway.

The wide coverage of Heritage in the local market was evidenced by the fact that they sold our house, they sold the house of the person who bought our house, and they sold the house we bought! Response time to resolve issues with the property have been sub-par. Would not recommend using. when you raise an issue it takes months to even get someone round. Raised an issue with regards to the bathroom. it has taken over a year to just have a extractor fan replaced due to the last one not being fitted correctly. Issues have not been rectified and when asked whats happening we get informed with "please revert this to ARPM to deal with"

Heritage were brilliant at every stage of the process. We viewed several properties in Coggeshall and Bradwell and both John and Bradley were great. I felt they really developed a sense of what we as a young family were looking for as we went and were able to offer great advice and insight. Heritage clearly know the village and local market and by the time we made an offer we were confident we had seen everything that might meet our needs. Once we had made an offer, Daniel was brilliant at keeping us updated and helping keep things moving. He also made recommendations for solicitors and a mortgage broker who turned out to be worth his weight in gold. Every single person we had dealings with at Heritage was friendly and helpful and - should we ever decide to move again - we would work with Heritage again in a heartbeat!

I asked Heritage to valuate my property. I was surprised at how low the valuation was and ended up using another estate agent. 2 weeks later my house was sold for a price which was 10% over the Heritage valuation. That’s a lot of money which I could’ve lost if I had chosen Heritage to market my property. I can only conclude that they lack knowledge of the local market...

It was a difficult sale but the professionalism of all staff was outstanding and most importantly was the constant updates and contact. Keeping us fully in the loop at all times made a difficult situation far more manageable and removed the frustration so commonly felt when information is hard to obtain. Having bought and sold numerous houses over I must say that this was the best experience I have had when dealing with an estate agency. They were knowledgeable, efficient and courteous. They even came along and picked me up from the station to view properties. Sadly I didn't find a house through them but when I come to sell they will be the first people I think of. Extremely poor communication between members of staff, no one knows what the other is doing. The reason I haven't given one ???? is that their fees were relatively cheap, wouldn't use again.
