I have been renting properties as tenant for 11 years and have recently been accepted for a property manged by Philip James Estates. I can confidently say that they are above and beyond any other letting agencies I have been with, consistently friendly and helpful from the moment I enquired about a property. They are "people" people and genuinely care about their clients. Extremely responsive and couldn't recommend them more. We had a fantastic experience with Phillip James Estates when selling our house with them. Bev is incredibly proactive and went out of her way to head off problems early and chase up other parties and their solicitors/ agents, making sure there were no delays. The Philip James team are really friendly, professional and communicative, and were very helpful throughout our purchase. Great point of liaison between us and the seller, helping with extra queries and nudging things along with the solicitors too. Katie and Bev were a pleasure to deal with although we hope to be in our new home for along time, I would definitely use Philip James again.

Dont bother with these time wasters. They arranged a viewing with me then as I got to the house they said they were stuck in traffic so I had gone all the way down there for nothing. It was rearranged and then they make excuses saying they were having trouble getting the keys. They are timewasters avoid these people
Regarding their reply below saying that it could have been the agency in Manchester, They got the cheek to deny that they are the same agency in Colchester posted on here that i actually used. They are definitely the ones in Colchester When I had a property to view in Braintree and I have proof of this in my email with the exact same address registered on here as well as their phone number on my phone when the appointment was arranged that this is their agency. They are liars

Just read a post criticising Philip James and I am astounded, they are far and away the BEST Estate Agents for letting property I have ever come across. Bev has been an absolutely wonder on every occasion we have needed help and it is testament to her and her colleagues expertise that properties are virtually let as soon as they appear. Please do not judge them on one poor review because you will not be disappointed.

I first found the property I wanted to buy listed with another agent but wanted to use Philip James Estates, they were great, and kept me informed of the progress throughout my purchase.
If your looking to buy in Coggeshall or the surrounding villages you really need to speak with them Bev or Katie you will not find a better Estate agent for the area.

Would never use for rental's again. Forgot to cancel my standing order for rent and are charging me £20 plus VAT to send back. Also got over charged for carpets and oven to be cleaned around £280. This was written in the contract beware.
