Due to the ever-changing circumstances with Covid-19, if you are in Tier 4, please do not arrange a viewing until the restrictions are lifted.
This statement above by Hix & Son estate agent on their application form for a rental is not even gov guidance its Hix & Sons own policy.
This is prejudice in a time when this estate agents themselves could go into tier 4 at any time
Its insinuating and upsetting and i will never use this estate agents wether in a tier system or not i find this statement offensive and insulting !!!!... Read more

WASTE OF TIME....GO TO HILL AND CLARK...NO COMMUNICATION AND RUDE. DESPITE EXPLAINING WE HAD A DAUGHTER WHO WAS 8 BEFORE APPLYING FOR 2 PLACES TO RENT (WHICH WAS RECOMMENDED TO USE BY HIX) DESPITE PASSING CHECKS WE GOT REJECTED VIA EMAIL 2 WEEKS LATER (AFTER A WEEK OF CALLING AND EMAILING FOR AN UPDATE AND BEING IGNORED)BECAUSE THEY DIDNT WANT TO RENT TO A FAMILY!! Office is dingy and depressing would hate to work there. Started off ok but as soon as deposit money was handed over was told that the oil tank is empty which is a large cost unplanned for as you have to buy 500L at once and it was winter at the time; felt like if they told me beforehand we would have pulled out. Many small issues with the rental overtime which is expected however very slow to follow up with a solution lucikly we were in direct contact with the landload who was great. I feel if solely dealing with HIX it would have been bad. Not liking the fact they tried to charge a renewal fee after first six months of contact expired no other agent i've rented from tried to milk me, letter worded as if i had no choice but I know law states that it will goto a rolling contract so under no obligation to sign and espically pay a fee for it so just ignored requests to renew; this is due to be made illegal next year. Deposit money was swiftly returned in full without any issue despite other reviews stating otherwise. Overall not the best company to deal with but medioca would likly be worse if I was a landlord as i feel lack of inspections and communication would be an issue... Read more

They tried to take pretty much all are deposit back once we had moved out of our flat trying to claim for decorating and damages even though the flat we had never was decorated before we moved in and nor was it damaged.
We went to the tenancy deposit scheme who holds the deposit and put in a disagreement about our deposit and we walked away with 510 out of the 650 which was a victory to us.
Hix wanted 620 and walked away with just 140 and we couldn’t be happier.... Read more

They stole over £1000 deposit from us by claiming we damaged the property which was a lie. They did not carry out proper maintenance and said we had to do it which is a lie. CAB said this is illegal and we should take them to small claims court. The worst estate agency we have ever had the misfortune to deal with. You will never get your deposit back so next time we would withhold rent until we leave. Now with Spalding agency fit and proper.... Read more
