Five stars aren’t enough for the team at Hunters.
We originally listed our property with a national agency that promised the world but delivered neither exceptional service nor even a moderately acceptable experience. Moving to Hunters was a completely different story.
Andrew, Geoff, and Joy handled both our sale and eventual purchase with outstanding professionalism. Their communication skills are exceptional—never condescending, always working with us as partners. Unlike the national agency, which constantly forwarded us to a third-party answering service, Hunters provided direct phone numbers and either answered immediately or returned calls promptly.
They found us a buyer quickly and, crucially, drove the legal process relentlessly when no one else seemed inclined to. Throughout, they gave us honest assessments rather than shaping the narrative to suit their own agenda. And for all that, their fees were very reasonable and competitive.
Don’t be swayed by the glossy brochures of national agencies promising buyer networks through their nationwide offices—it’s meaningless in the Rightmove era. What really matters is an agent who can sell your property and push the legal process forward. We have worked with a national agency before and had a positive experience, but their fees were significantly higher than Hunters, and the service was no better.

We found Hunters to be very efficient from the start of the process (photos, EPC, etc) to the end. The marketing and open day worked wonders and we sold our home immediately with a choice of several buyers. A shout out to both Beatrice and Celia who kept us completely informed throughout the ensuring legal processes and who were constantly keeping the sale moving forward by liaising with all the parties involved until the sale completed successfully. We had a very efficient service from Hunters in Folkestone. The signing on process and identity checking, photos, EPC etc were all carried out quickly and efficiently. Our house was well marketed, and we had plenty of viewings and several buyers to choose from! A shout out for both Beatrice and Celia who kept us well informed on a regular basis chasing up the various parties (of which there were many) every step of the way right up to completion. Ads fairly basic compared to some newer agents. Chain-free sale took 5 months then collapsed. Other agents would have chased up more often and put back on the market after a few weeks with no progress. Most staff helpful and friendly but one was quite rude at times. Could be a one-off of course, so do your own research first.

I'm leaving a review after trying to resolve a problem.
I have moved into a property that has animal dander and I'm extremely allergic to some animals. I was told the carpet s have been cleaned but I don't believe this to be true. When I ask for proof they were cleaned Celia said "why do I need to prove that you!? (because I am a tenant and deserve to know the truth)
I have had terrible allergies since moving in. And have to take a lot of medication ????I have never met such rude impolite estate agents that don't want to help.
I feel like I've been lied to which has greatly affected my mental health the William harvey hospital have got me through this time
I was blamed for the severe mould issue in 2the sidings Lyminge.
This has really affected my health.
There is a mould problem within the roof yet Celia wood is blaming the tenant. Disgusting behaviour. This lady is REFUSES TO BE TRUTHFUL. HERSELF AND JOHN NEALE KNOW THE TRUTH. I hope justice is served.
They have false accused someone who is being tested for cancer.

Due to a misunderstanding we missed an appointment but were booked in the next morning and advised we can view along with existing viewers. Upon turning up the viewing girl asked us to stay outside while the existing viewer was in. Fine. She made it a point to comment she has to go to other appointments afterwards so rushing us before we're even in. We got in for around 7 minutes before the next appointment turned up. This is when the girl said "sorry the next appointment is here". She casually turns to the next couple and says to them "they're just leaving". In our earshot. I'm a cash buyer. I considered putting in an offer but I feel a bit shooed in and out. I appreciate fitting us in but there's a certain manner in which you don't make a client feel insulted. My worst experience out of the three agents I've viewed with in Folkestone.

My mum had the good fortune of meeting up again with Celia recently when she came to do a valuation of the property. Celia was a work colleague of my mum's in the 1980s, and has since sporadically bumped into over the years in the town. Celia has always been kind, courteous, and had the time to share a smile and a hello. It was then without hesitation that mum decided that she wanted Celia as her estate agent.
Celia had a very good understanding of the market, and matched this with a knack for appreciating the unique aspects of the property. This paid off. The property was under offer on the first viewing very near to asking price. It was a win win for everyone.
From the small details of getting the listing photos correct to the big questions of should we take this offer or wait for another one, Celia was on the ball, and always showed the ability to get it right.

I have reviewed the advert of the property, and as the agent was informed by the seller that the tenant would be vacating the property and would be served a section 21 upon the acceptance of the offer, there would be no need to advertise that there is a tenant in situ within the marketing material as the property would be sold with vacant possession upon completion.
This is the outcome of a formal complaint due to a flat purchase failure as after 4 months of waiting, I have been told the tenant will be not vacating the property until November (further 4 months). False advertising, misleading potential buyers, and incredibly unprofessional attitude - escalated on several occasions, yet with no improvements so reporting to the Property Ombudsman. The entire experience was shambolic and rather stressful for me as a first time buyer, putting me in a difficult housing situation due to a chain of failures.
Senior management needs to step up and implement some radical changes in order to avoid things like this from happening again!

If there was half a star rating that would be more fitting!
My first and last experience. Enquired about a property they had listed on Rightmove and got a four word response, " property is sale agreed." No greeting or formalities, no hello or thank you, just "property is sale agreed."
Normally, you might introduce your agency, ask what I'm looking for and possibly, as you are an estate agent, sell me a property? I guess the concept of an estate agent selling a property to potential buyer is one Hunters are not familiar with. Obviously one to avoid.

Charlie Craddock was cheerful and positive and inspired confidence throughout the purchasing process of my Buy to Let house in Folkestone. He was quick to respond by email and calls when I needed information. And he was a great problem-solver. When my Surveyor's Report came back revealing significant damp issues, I was worried and almost pulled out of the purchase. However Charlie organised a quote from a reliable, expert company to fix the problem. It could have been a show stopper! I'm grateful that Charlie, with his knowledge of local properties and extensive contacts in the building industry, was instantly able to help. Now I am thrilled with my new property and the vendor is also delighted that we have completed so amicably and smoothly. A reliable and helpful estate agents that helped facilitate the house purchasing process.
My first impressions were concerning as I arranged a viewing of a property with them and the agent was a no show. Fortunately the sellers were lovely and we looked around regardless.
From there they had been nothing but helpful. We reported the incident the next day and the manager dedicated an amount of her day short notice to us and ensuring that we were satisfied with their service. Our primary contact, Charlie, was quick to reply and helpful in his responses throughout the process.
Overall we had no issues with them and would consider using their services again.

Very unprofesional.Travelled from London to view two property's.No one turned up to show us the property's and as we waited more than half an hour phoned the office at least four times and had to leave messages as there was no answer.Our viewing was at 16.00 and at 16.40 I went to the office to find it closed although the closing time showed 17.00.They obviously decided on a hot weekend bank holiday Saturday that they would close office with no regard for any client that was waiting outside the property hoping to be shown round.Since I have returned to London I have had no contact from hunters in a way of an explanation or apology. I find them to be extremly unprofesional and would not approach this company again.
