Burnap + Abel provided us with an exceptional service when selling our home. We had a buyer who had offered over our asking price who then, unfortunately, pulled out when their surveyor (who didn't seem to understand Victorian terraced properties) put the fear of god into them. We had a very limited time after that to find a new buyer due to the chain and Burnap + Abel were very quick to arrange more viewings and help us get sold for around the asking price. In fairness to B&A and as an upfront statement we pulled our property off the market because we didn't have any success in finding a replacement property and we did not like the state of the overheated, overpriced market early 2021. We also had to disappoint a potential buyer when we decided not to sell. Burnapp and Abel were a good company of choice. The two directors both visited at different times and they were friendly and informative. However were were not impressed with certain office staff, who, when we advised the town office we were taking the property off the market stated that we were going to lose the potential buyer £25000 because they would lose the advantage of the Covid19 stamp duty holiday. Very unprofessional and not our concern. It seemed that the potential buyers interests were more important than ours....as the fee paying client. Overall, but for that stumble, B&A were fine and if the requirement to place our property arises in the future then they would receive our consideration again for marketing. Was not impressed with them at all. Our valuations with 3 estate agents were £230,00to £249,000 and they put our house up for £220’000. We needed £225,000 minimum in order to sell but because they put lower price on listing we were only getting buyers who couldn’t afford our house price? Also, felt they were not interested very much in our cheap property but only in those more up market expensive ones. Feel we wasted our time with them. Never called us unless they had a viewing and would go weeks without even a courtesy call.... Read more
