The team has been wonderful. Phoebe and Shelley explained the entire process before the move-in, making my application process seamless. They were so patient and always available. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
Block Management employees are extremely rude, insensitive and aggressive. I have spoken to Jodie on the phone who has no interpersonal skills and she is unable to maintain a respectful discussion. Given that one of her main duties working at Martin & Co is to handle calls, she has no communication skills and is not knowledgeable in the field. I do not recommend the company as they do not have adequate customer service training. Many thanks.

Shocking communication !!
Vacated a property on the 27/5/24.
Not a word, don’t hear from Martin and Co.
No email or note, or thank you or wish us well, or some idea of WHAT HAPPENS NEXT. So last Friday am I called, was told my area rent manager was busy, told he will call soon. No word. I called again in the afternoon . Same thing.
Then just before the close of play he called,
Told the delay was the landlady for the check out. Told it will be completed in few days. It’s the 12/6, 16 days and we don’t know what’s going on, not to mention the return of the deposit.

Highly competent and professional property managers. I have been a landlord and a loyal customer of Martin & Co and the two predecessor companies absorbed by them, Paul Brown, and Hallams, since 2007.
The Martin & Co team always exceeded my expectations and looked after my interests as a landlord, and again when I sold each of my Dover houses.
It would be wrong to single any individual out for special praise. This is a team who work as a team.

Matt in property management- Matt managed my properties for several years and handled everything, From finding tenants, ensuring everything thing is in working order etc all the way to a court eviction which Matt and his team handled like pros. They made a very stressful situation go as smoothly as possible.

I have had the pleasure of being a customer of Martin and co for may years.
Mine and my late husband's first experience was of the letting side of the business, when we rented a lovely large 2 bedroom flat, when moving to Kent from Portsmouth 7 years ago. The service was fantastic, friendly, informative and transparent when letting. If we had any questions they were happy to answer and help.
Our next experience was when we were looking for a house to buy. Dave knew what we were looking for, after seeing several properties with a wide range of estate agents, we were shown the house which we bought through Martin and co. Again, very helpful, informative, the service was outstanding.
My circumstances changed 18 months ago, which ment I needed to sell my house.
The team, were great, supportive helped me with any questions I had, and helped with the tough decisions.
It maybe said that they only did this for the money, but I can assure you beyond a doubt, they did more than any other estate agents would have done. I could not thank them enough, from me, my late husband and my daughter.

All the staff are extremely welcoming. Phoebe provided excellent service, responding to emails in good time and in a helpful manner. No question was too much, or too stupid when viewing properties with Phoebe. Jessica explained everything in an easy-to-understand way during my move-in appointment - the goodie box was a nice touch too. Shelley made a point of explaining in person some information which she was later going to email to me which was a lovely human touch.

Phoebe was so bubbly and likeable when viewing the property. Very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. In the mean time when we had any other questions I would just pop her an email and she would get back to me straight away with an answer. I have had bad experiences with a different agent taking a long time to do everything and being very unresponsive but this has been a welcome change to being efficient and organised. I was also pleasantly surprised to be given a welcome to your new home box with lots of goodies inside which is a lovely touch! Definitely recommend Martin & Co and Phoebe is a star!

Martin & co are the building managers for my leasehold flat. They have been excellent with any situation, no issue is too large or small for them. Catherine in the office has always been a pleasure to deal with and has our best interests at heart. In the rare eventuality that I have had to contact the out of hours phone number, someone has rushed over to help me and sort the situation out. When an issue has been raised with them they have usually sorted the problem within a couple of hours, and if not, I know that they have it in hand and are working hard to resolve the issue.

Awful property management. Nobody returns your calls or replies to emails, and since they took over, our service charges have increased to 3 x the original amount. Furthermore, processes such as section 20 notices do not seem to be followed and they have no idea what is in our property account.... avoid if you want to deal with competent people...!

Initially Will Pugh came to talk to us about our requirements, we showed him around and he gave us an honest opinion and set out our options. We chose letting only and within a very short time Will had drawn up an appealing advertisement, giving detailed specifications and put it on the market. By his next visit he introduced us to a prospect tenant resulting in a deal. The friendly back up team at the office (Shelley Wise, Julie Hayden, Phoebe Webb, Katie Charlier and Matt Morris) carried out the administration, checks and reports efficiently, professionally and as speedily as possible. Sales- I first came upon Martin & Co a couple of years ago.We wanted to purchase BTL properties and were new to the Folkestone area. David Russell in sales went above and beyond holding our hands through the entire process which was painless and swift (as it could be!!) Out of all the agents we went to, we felt really looked after by David and the team at Martin & Co.
Lettings- As soon as we met Will Pugh we knew we were in good hands. He made us feel he had all the time (and we took a lot) we required, to answer questions and make helpful suggestions, sharing his extensive knowledge and experience whilst we were looking to purchase - speaking to Lettings is as important as sales if you are buying to let.
We are now back again and are in the process of purchasing a but to let project …Thank you David, Will and Nina Harris for helping us thus far….another journey begins!!!

When we put the offer in the office was decimated by Covid but the staff who were there were very helpful - even though they worked in the ‘rental’ rather than the ‘sales’ side. Buying a property can be a very baffling process - the staff at Martin’s (and in particular Nina) were keen to be helpful.

In less then 2 weeks since we contacted agency, we were able to pick up our keys and move into our new home. And also, in the same time they found a tenant for the flat we were moving out from. Nina Harris took over the reins during David’s paternity leave and with all in place she struck gold by achieving the full asking price in a matter of days.
With the help of Nina and David, both solicitors and the buyer we were able to complete in less than 14 weeks. So well done to all concerned.

These people are so rude on the phone. I was a potential client and was met with unprofessional, cold behaviour. I really liked one of the advertised properties, but because of the horrible service I chose to look elsewhere. Hopefully, potential landlords will see this and choose to be with some other agents if they wish their property to let out in a timely manner.

I’ve just purchased a house through these guys. They have had their fingers on the pulse from start to finish. They’ve been amazing! They’ve phoned me regularly and given me updates, given advise, and nothing is too much trouble. Avoid if you want your deposit back. Unfairly took third of my deposit and the deposit protection scheme took their side! Collusion. Gave 1 star as the agent who showed me around was great but the rest cannot be trusted.

Pathetic response from yoursleves just shows the unprofessional level you will stoop to.
I complained few times about the toilet waste from upstairs flat overflowing into mine but you did nothing and now you're using that to personally attack me is ridiculous! Saying that there was bodily hair and small smudge of paintwork in the cupboard doesn't justify £225 to clean it, this is all comes under general maintenance. Even your own independent check out report said the flat was clean
As for the the 'independent' adjudicator, they awarded you the deposit by default and not in agreement as their all important email went straight to junk mail which was asking to send the proof in via email rather than through the website. Their process is completely unclear
IF ANYONE ELSE HAS HAD THEIR DEPOSIT TAKEN UNFAIRLY, I AM IN PROCESS OF TAKING A GROUP ACTION AGAINT THE DPS AND MARTIN AND CO

Avoid like the PLAGUE.
Overcharging and bullying of tenants. Renting out properties that shouldn’t legally be rented due to health concerns such as black mould and damp. Disregard to the well-being of their tenants and only
show loyalty to the landlord. Still trying to charging check in and out fees and more despite the new Tenancy Act being passed as of June.
I rarely write reviews but I sincerely hope someone sees this when enquiring about a property from this company. It is not worth it.

- Very fair on leaving and returning deposit.
Negatives
- Once disputes arose with owner did not act fairly. After many months of fighting and huge stress we were compensated for this.
- Some members of staff lovely, some very rude.

Avoid like the plague...if I could give them a minus number instead of 1 star I would. Unprofessional dismissive liars for estate agents. Persistent failure to maintain the property my wife and i were in for 7 years to the point they used their failures to take our deposit. Rude arrogant people who look down on you. And when openly reviewed on Facebook they played dirty and get your account shut down by reporting it in such a way it cant be recovered. This company are Torie Britain personified. They shouldn't be allowed to operate.

I can only reiterate a previous comment:
Awfull staff (Richard Horton) absolute joke. Overpriced unfair charges made with your deposit money without consulting you when you move out.
A company actually recorded on the report that the property was cleaned to a good domestic standard. Yet Ripoff Richard has found it necessary to add a £170 charge for cleaning away a few specks of dust and a dusty extractor fan.
If you use this company be prepared to lose a third of your deposit. They are rip offs. Use at your peril. My advise DO NOT USE DO NOT USE.

Let this be a warning to potential and current landlords, if your property is listed for a length of time it's because your future tenants are unwilling to sacrifice their first born just to get a return email/phone call. Would not recommend dealing with Martin & Co, they are very inconsistent and feel that it is acceptable to lie to their clients.
The staff are quite rude & unhelpful. Overall they don't have an ounce of care for their work and don't seem to care about providing quality of service.
