Instructed them to value a plot of land to move to a pension. They'd valued it for the bank a few years previously. When the chap showed up, he said he couldn't value it the normal way as he had nothing to compare it to, so suggested he estimate costs to build an office on it, then deduct the costs. His calculation came out negative. I told him to find me any land that I could be paid to own! He then guessed a value around 30% of the price he'd valued it at 5 years previously. Nothing had changed except gaining planning permission. Absolutely no use to us, completely incorrect value & it took them months to get to that point. Basically oxygen thieves.... Read more

Used this company for a commercial valuation on a small property for my SIPP pension Keppie Massie had me over a barrel just to change the name & address on the valuation report cost another £660 for a simple admin change on a report that had already cost me £1040 in the first place! Absolute Rip off avoid this company at all costs!... Read more

I called KML to arrange a view of the apartment and they were actually pretty nice and worked out a date and time that fit my schedule. There was no agent to show up since the tenant was still in the apartment (what if I had questions??). Whatever. Then I got a call that postpone my viewing since the tenant was called at work. OK, I thought, we can still work it out even if it will ruin my Saturday (the appoitment was now at 4:30). We managed to reach the apartment on time, just to have the tenant telling us the agency had sent them an email IN THE MORNING saying the previous viewer had put down the deposit to reserve the place. Therefore, basically, I wasted my Saturday going out in the cold with my 10 months baby for nothing. I did not receive any email/text/call from the agency to inform me of the change. That would have been just basic courtesy (like other agency did in these days when the place becomes unavailable). So, I would say they are definitely UNPROFESSIONAL!... Read more

During our sales viewing, the agent's opening statement was 'don't ask me any questions because I'm usually only on lettings.' Really unhelpful! Hardly the 'team of expert advisers' which they brag about on their website! Total waste of time.... Read more

Criticised and punished by the Ombudsman. Do not trust. A good friend of mine submitted a complaint to the ombudsman and they found Keppie Massie had caused aggravation, upheld the complaint which was referring to Keppie Massie not following the code of practise, misleading on fees and also made them pay a penalty cash sum which took 6 months to get. Though that is just the small details of the mess they were left in for a short while. I used to be in the industry myself so advised them to go ahead with the complaint and happy they received a good outcome from the ombudsman. Really sad case in which my friend had to battle for months in complete bewilderment as the complaint was so clear cut and unfair. I wish I did not have to make such comments about business' so publicly but I find it is only fair for other potential customers to know of the situation. My friend said hopefully the company may learn from it and improve but I am not so hopeful at all and will be staying well clear.... Read more

Do not trust this letting agent! They managed two properties for me until I found they were passing false information to my tenants and not even advertising my property for 2 months after I asked for it listed! That was just the tip of the iceberg. Cannot warn people off these enough, had so much trust for years as they come across very sincere and genuine. They are complete confidence tricksters and cowboys. Stay away!... Read more
