I had the pleasure of renting a property through Sarah at Lockstones in Malmesbury for four years, and I can confidently say that the experience was outstanding from start to finish. Sarah's professionalism, dedication, and attention to detail truly set her apart in the letting industry.
Throughout my tenancy, there were a few challenges, such as being locked out on several occasions, needing cleaners, and dealing with heating and plumbing issues. We bought this property through Lockstones in 2013 and when the time came to sell, we used them again. We dealt with the same agent, Sarah, for both transactions. She knew the market and the local area as a result of being in post for a good while. Her local knowledge meant that from deciding to sell (Friday) to Instructing Lockstones (Monday) to having the photos taken (Tuesday) and the advert going live (Wednesday) we had two viewings arranged for the Thursday, of which the first one made an offer at the asking price. The sale went through without a hitch and we were delighted with the service. OK, they got a fat fee for what seems like a straightforward process, but would any of the on-line 'commission free' agents had the right contacts to set up this sale? I doubt it. Like the good car mechanic would say, "It's £10 for swinging my hammer, and £50 for knowing where to swing it!" I think Lockstones were great value and would recommend them.

For the last six years Lockstones have handled the letting of my house in Tetbury – to several tenants over that period. Not only did they let it quickly but they dealt with the change-over really smoothly each time; taking away all the worries from me. I cannot speak highly enough of their amazing service; over and above what I ever expected. I strongly recommend them. (PS. I'm now moving into the house myself so will no longer be needing their help – hence this review.)

Lockstones have gone above and beyond my expectations. Last year we had been struggling to sell our house until we swapped agents to Lockstones. From start to finish selling our house they were professional and always felt like we were their only client. From initial meeting, to photo’s, constant updates on viewings the service was exceptional. Within weeks we had many viewings and had sold our house!
That was great until the new house we were going with fell through but Lockstones to the rescue with only two weeks notice they found us the perfect rental property. With regular check ins but never intrusive again we felt valued. The whole team at Lockstones delivered on promises always call you back which seems simple but doesn’t always happen. From the very start Lockstones were poor. The description that they produced of the house was so bad that we had to re-write it. While that was ongoing Lockstones decided to put the property on the market without our final approval. Maybe not so bad except that the price on the details was wrong - £5000 less than the price on the contract. Astonishingly Lockstones said that this did not matter.
At no stage in the process did we feel that Lockstones were acting on our behalf. They seemed far more concerned about satisfying the various demands of the purchasers despite the fact that we were the ones paying their commission. A primary role of an estate agent is to act as a negotiator between vendors and purchasers. All Lockstones did was pass messages back and forth.
Lockstones are a particularly bad example of an estate agents and we would struggle to find a good reason to use them again

I have had a great experience dealing with Lockstones both for purchasing and letting the property. Russell in particular has been extremely helpful and very professional , he found a superb tenant for us who treated the property like their own , were great at reporting maintenance issues . Russell followed up on all requests from the tenant and ourselves ensuring that any issues were dealt with in a timely manner. It is easy to see the great relationship that Lockstones have built up in the community built on trust , honesty and professionalism I would definitely recommend

Arranged a viewing at a property in malmesbury, the estate agent completely forgot and had finished for the weekend and gone home. Was promised a call from the office by another member of staff in order to rearrange. No call. Called again to rearrange as I really wanted to view the property. Still no call back. No email. No apology. All I can say is that if you want to sell your house, these people are not the best option, I want to buy, have cash, and they still can't be bothered to turn up or call prospective buyers. Very, very poor.
