We were just buyers but we looked at a series of houses with David at Machin Lane. His knowledge of Rochester is second to none, he knew loads about planning laws, the busy streets with parking problems, you name it. It seems he has either sold or knows so much about so many of the higher end properties in Rochester. His honesty, knowledge, openness and patience, all in a relaxed, non-intrusive and non-salesy manner really helped us to make the right decision for us. It was so refreshing to experience an estate agent like David, he puts others to shame and should be proud.

David Lane is different from your typical estate agent. He’s not slick; he’s not fast talking; he’s not a time-is-money kind of guy, and he doesn’t just tell you what he thinks you want to hear. Instead, he’s smart, professional, calm, patient, organized, accessible, and honest—traits that are not always easy to find in the industry. He’s worked in the Medway area for decades and knows the ins and outs and ups and downs of the market. He went way beyond normal service to help us sell our house in Rochester and even gave us advice on buying a house in Cornwall. All this, and the

I had my property valued by David Lane and I was very impressed by his knowledge of the market and realistic expectation setting, as well as his non-salesy and honest advice regarding how I can improve my property at this stage. He also went through options with me that wouldn't benefit him at all, so I very much felt that he had my best interests at heart, which is often rare in any sales industry. It’s easy to get over enthusiastic on price with other agents tempting you but be prepared to probably reduce or for your property to hang around.

He works hard to ensure the good professional reputation of his company and he clearly knows the Medway housing market very accurately.

I have been purchasing a house though Machin Lane. Having been in contact with many estate agents over time and using one myself for the sale of my property, the service i have received from David at Machin Lane has surpassed all others. They even stepped up and supported me when my own Estate Agent had let me down, giving me more information on my own sale then my estate agent. I highly recommend Machin Lane and if i were to sell again they would be the Estate Agent i would use.

I can't recommend Machin Lane enough. Throughout the long process between first viewing the property and finally getting the keys the team were highly professional and helpful. This was not an easy journey and they worked extremely hard to make sure it went through. If I was selling a house in Chatham or Rochester I wouldn't look anywhere else. 5 stars!

I cannot recommend Machin Lane enough. They are extremely knowledgeable of the market, are realistic in what they feel properties are worth and are clearly very experienced. When confronted they denied this despite clear evidence on their website that the property was advertised with no onward chain. They persisted with lies regarding this property allowing us to believe that exchange of contracts would take place each day for two weeks - causing us to be packed up in boxes and left in the lurch a day before the set move day. I would steer clear of these agents.
