Myself & my wife have been renting with Martin & Co Solihull for about three years now and has been all plain sailing.
We both work with the public & are more than familiar that people are always happy to share their negative feedback but are very reluctant to share positive feedback.
Recently the boiler packed up & the communication was spot on. The boiler was replaced in a matter of days. Heaters was offered to make sure we were warm till the boiler was installed the next day.
Thank you to the landlord for acting so quickly & thank you to Leigh for getting it resolved & communicating with us clearly.

Letting a property through Martin & Co has unfortunately been an unpleasant experience so far. Their communication and customer service skills can improve quite a lot and the other party seems to agree with me. Although friendly for brief interactions, anything that demands more normally results in passiveness and a lack of care for their managed service paying customers.
Don't take their word for anything. False promises and a lack of accountability seems normal.
Proceed with caution in every step and don't expect the world and you should be okay.

Good local knowledge. Excellent research before the valuation. Adverts on two popular websites. When the viewings dried up there was no communication about how to get things moving again. Apart from the notice about appointments to vew the property there were no updates from the agent about the lack of intetest or ways to improve the listing.

We had a terrible experience with the check-out process from Martin & Co Solihull. They tried to keep almost the entire deposit by fabricating issues and charging us for damages that were already present on the inventory from before we moved in. They made it so stressful and, after a lengthy back and forth, we did not receive our deposit until 7 months after checkout.
Communication was terrible throughout. We provided photographs with date stamps and proof from the inventory that we did not cause the issues. They did not acknowledge any of this and continued to attempt to charge us. We had to use the Deposit Protection Scheme dispute service and eventually received our deposit back. We never received an apology from the letting agents.

I had a viewing today with a lovely estate agents called Ella she was very good at answering all the enquiries I had and she genuinely cared about het clients it was so refreshing to see. I then phoned the office and spoke to a very helpful and polite employee called Leigh. My overall experience with Martin and co has been exceptional. our drains are broken and you have no emergency contact number? there's sewage coming out our garden pipe and we can't contact anyone because you close at 1pm on a Saturday and don't reopen until Monday. The emergency number you gave us isn't a real/active phone number, we now cannot use out bathroom until you're open.

I was extremely impressed with Martin and co when selling my house recently. The communication and efficiency was exceptional. The house was valued, photos taken promptly and put on the website the same day. They helped with extra matters like contacting energy providers and solicitors. Communication on matters was always quick and personable. would recommend for anyone using their service. The valuation provided the house got and their market research on the house and similar properties meant they were well informed in making this. We dealth wiyh Keith mostly who was brilliant. The worst estate agents I've dealt with.
They take all your deposit even though after going through covid, not missing any payments and having a big hole in the ceiling throughout the winter and they still mess you about. Plz! plz! plz! don't use this estate agents. The land lady was just as bad! Money grabbers. I wish I could share the photos of how I left the house as it was spotless. They even had the cheek to make me pay for brand new carpets to be cleaned that I paid for. I hope you never sell the house!!!!

We bought a property through this estate agent 2 years ago and sold one through them recently and have nothing but praise for Keith Johnson who went more than the mile to ensure that things went well. We live down south and to save us making long journeys to check up on the property while the sale process was going through, he kindly and willingly made those checks for us. Also made sure he kept in regular warranted contact with our solicitors to keep the process active (during lockdown) to a satisfactory and expected outcome. Thank you Keith

My family and I have rented a property where Martin & Co were the letting agents. Okay enough service during the process. Had an issue where incorrect information was given to a company - Notify.co.uk - regarding us moving out of the property very quickly after our Assured Shorthold Tenancy agreement started! The landlord could quite easily have misconstrued the situation. Managed to get it sorted but there needs to be more care with regards to third-party handling of information and ensuring that correct details are transmitted.

I sold my apartment and dealt with Hannah who was excellent. Whenever she did a viewing it was hard to tell if it had happened as she ensured everywhere was left exactly how she found it. They got me plenty of viewings and found me the perfect buyers so I would definitely recommend them.

Nice office staff organising the let.....but
..Make sure you ask them for signed and dated documents after the 3 monthly inspections with any wear and tear issues. Don't believe them if they say " that'll be fine with the landlord". They will do anything they can to keep your deposit. Get written permission from the landlord for even a coat hanger!! They will even try to charge you for cobwebs!
The shysters even tried to say we dropped the keys off late because they knew I didn't
ask for a receipt.
GET EVERY MINOR FAULT VERIFIED IN WRITING OR BETTER STILL AVOID
If they try to keep your deposit make sure you take it to a tribunal. The DPS is aware of their integrity.

We rented a house for 3 years through Martin & Co. First we were so happy to have an inspection every quarter of the year and we felt that they were fantastic. After 6 months, they changed the person who did the inspection and from then, they keep "rotating staff" (some resigned, other were sacked). The last year of our tenancy was the worst, when every single comment about the poor state of the house was ignored, not by the landlord (who never got the notes) but from the agency.
We reported damages, even power cuts due to the faulty kitchen, house alarm going on and on (even deactivated) and nothing was taken in consideration. We got to the point where we were without power energy for 5 days with 2 kids in winter and they just realised that the staff who was doing the inspections didn't take any of our comments/notes and the landlord wasn't informed of it until we told him personally!!!
At the end of the tenancy, Martin & Co didnt want to return our deposit as we "damaged" the house and we "haven't informed" any of the issues during the visits and the staff who "wrote down the notes cannot be contacted as he was sacked for being incompetent" (words from a Martin & Co staff by phone).
I strongly recommend to tenants to request in written every single report and keep informing by email any faulty or problem with the house, do not trust on their word as based on my own experience, they are not an honest Estate Agent.

Well what can I say, this company as managing agents for a rented property have been totally useless in dealing with the end of tenancy requirements. They failed to take meter readings, have no record of a forwarding address for the tenant and so far (3 months) have failed to obtain a deduction in respect of agreed damage from the tenant's deposit. The staff change frequently making it impossible to have any continuity or conclusion.

Excellent, professional and extremely prompt service from start to finish. Did exactly what they promised they would without any negatives. I had a property to rent, they attended on time, took apartment details, photos and floor plan and had the advertisement up and running the same day. They conducted viewings at 10 am the next day and first people to view agreed to rent, from start to finish took less than 48 hours - brilliant. The tenants are moved in within two weeks of me first having contact with Martin & Co. I would whole-heartedly recommend Martin & Co without any reservation.

Definitely a good experience, everyone was so helpful, in particular Hannah Delaney. She was available and answered any requests we had within a short amount of time. The process of moving into a property was easy and enjoyable.Very professional and helpful. Martin and Co did everything, even referred us to Tenant shop that helped us sort out new bills. Martin and Co were such a great help to us, as we are a young couple and had never had any experience with moving before. They were patient and willing to help whenever we needed. They also kept us updated within the process, and made the referencing process quick and easy, and any issues that occurred, we were notified straight away, and they were solved within the day. Would 100 percent use this letting agency again.

Firstly the only experience that I have had with Martin & Co is the rental of one of their properties I have no connection with them other than this.
What I have found is that they posses a quality that seems to be missing from many organisations in that they really do care about their customers.
The staff have been thorough in all aspects and have left me feeling relaxed even though moving home is very stressful.
I would have no hesitation recommending Martin and Co to anyone something which I would not do if I had any doubts about their customer service.
