We felt the house was over valued which limited the initial interest. We had a number of viewings where by people were unable to proceed and we hadn’t been informed and so became frustrated.
We did not sell our house with Nest. They did introduce a buyer but the sale did not go through.
We decided to try a different agent and have a sale in progress with them.
Nest have a high number of properties for sale in the area, unsure whether that is a positive or negative?

Naomi was our contact at the Wigston office and she was outstanding - nothing was too much trouble, she delivered answers to our questions within hours and did everything she could to ensure the experience was as stress-free as possible. We chose Nest to sell our home as we felt they gave sound advise when valuing our house. The whole team have been helpful in arranging viewings and advising us of feedback following the viewings. The team at Nest Estate Agents are amazing!!!
They were very prompt in scheduling a meeting, valuing the house and adding it to the market. So much so it was sold in less than 24 hours!!! The team are extremely professional in their approach and listened to what type of property we wanted to buy showing us a great range of options. Being a locally based independently run estate agent it felt they had our best interests at heart. I would highly recommend Nest Estate Agents and the companies they recommend.

Where do I start?. Well me and my wife were looking to buy our first house together and came across a lovely house in Syston. It was just what we were looking for, we found it on Rightmove so we rang up nest estate agents to arrange a viewing and were told that the owners of the property already had a couple of offers which they were considering.

Surely the more viewings the more offers right?. So we gave it a few days and rang again to see if the property had been sold or not which it hadn’t, but we were still unable to view it as the owners were still considering the offers that had been made.

We then decided to post a note to the owners of the property saying that we had tried to book a viewing through nest but was unsuccessful as two offers had been made and were being considered. I left my phone number on the letter to see if we could arrange a viewing through the owners.

The owners were able to get in contact with me the following day, and as you can imagine we’re quite annoyed that nest were not allowing anymore viewings. They allowed us to come and view the property and we fell in love with it.We made an offer to the owners and after a day or two they accepted our offer which we were overjoyed with.

We then got told that we had to go and see a mortgage advisor through nest. As this was our first house we didn’t think anything of this. We had a mortgage in principle and proof of funds, so there was nothing to worry about. How wrong we were. We go to the nest branch in Syston and see there ‘independent’ mortgage advisor and go through all the figures. We stated that we wanted to put a 5% deposit down so that we would have some money left for fees and doing bits to the house. But we also stated that if push comes to shove we can put a 10% deposit down if that would definitely secure the deal.

So after this meeting we were told by the manager that we would hear from them that day on weather we were successful or not. We were then contacted later on from nest to say we were unsuccessful. We were devastated and confused on why we were unsuccessful. I then got in contact with the owner to find out what had happened, and they told me that nest had said we were a risk, and we only wanted to put 5% deposit down. Is this not a breach of GDPR?. Surely an ‘independent’ mortgage advisor is not allowed to tell the estate agent any of our own personal information right ?.

What this showed me was nest did not like the way me and my wife approached this matter. If they had given us a viewing from the start none of this would have happened. To be honest it seems quite childish and not professional at all. Nest obviously had two clients who had made offers and wanted to go with one of them because it would make them look good, if we had been successful it wouldn’t have been because of nest, it would have been through our own initiative.

We were delighted with the service we received from Nest Estate Agents.
From our initial valuation and throughout the entire process they were extremely professional. They valued our house significantly higher than other agents and were confident in achieving this. Within a couple of weeks we had secured a sale at an excellent price having received several offers.
