We really valued Chris' professionalism, experience and communication. He worked with us to ensure that the photos taken for the property particulars were reflective of our home, a rare talent!
Arranging viewings was quick and easy and agents were very respectful of our home. Prompt viewing feedback was always given which was really helpful, especially to have it in digital form.
It was really refreshing to use a smaller firm; we were made to feel valued every step of the way. When we were assisted by other members of the team, each were knowledgeable about our property and answered any questions quickly.

We recently sold our house through Pocock and Shaw.
From start to finish they have been professional and efficient.
Magnus talked us through the process and got our house on the market within 2 weeks.
We had a very tricky journey with the sale falling through once and the whole process taking a year.
However, the process would have been more stressful without their involvement. Elen was amazing with communication and was always able to give us regular updates on what was happening in the chain.

When we bought, Magnus at P&S was very helpful in connecting us early to a property. He obviously loves living in Ely and enjoys sharing his knowledge of property in the city. We were thrilled with the property but more so with Magus’ commitment to keeping us in the loop at all stages. Even when transactions became complicated, we always felt like we were in good hands.
When we came to sell five years later, we were in no doubt about who we wanted to sell the property. P&S’s price was very competitive and the service was exemplary. We agreed a sale within a few days at a price that exceeded our expectations. Our chain took some time to complete, but Magnus managed expectations throughout.

Pocock and Shaw were amazing from start to finish in our recent house sale. Starting with Magnus who was really helpful in advising on how to go about our sale, and then when we lost our buyer near the start of the process, he incredibly managed to find us another one within 12 hours! I want to give a special mention to Elen though, throughout the process some issues arose with the house we were buying and also delays with our buyers solicitors, Elen went above and beyond to make sure the process continued to progress, helping us to resolve issues that really should have been resolved by another Estate agent/solicitor in the chain. Nothing was too much trouble for Elen and her communication was excellent. What should have been extremely stressful really wasn’t too bad at all and this was all down to Elen. After this experience I wouldn’t use anyone else for my house sales in the future. I have previously used other estate agents and never received the level and quality of service we received from Pocock and Shaw.

After another Ely agent struggled to drum up much interest in our house, Greg provided us with a realistic valuation, bright clear photos and text that brought out the great features of our house. We found him to be very personable and genuine and easy to communicate with. Viewings and offers soon started to appear. Despite the difficulties and challenges of the pandemic and lockdowns and several set-backs throughout 2020, Greg and his team never slacked and offered very sound advice. Buyers were soon found and in fact at the end of the day they even managed to achieve over the asking price for us.
If Greg was not in the office, Magnus was always ready to help and advise and the rest of the office staff were very friendly and helpful.
Thank you for everything and sticking with us over 2 years - we are very happy with all you did for us and love our new house.

So far a very pleasant experience, we have received good contact from Magnus and the team. I have found them very open and honest and feel like you can really trust them. Magnus successfully guided us through the sale of our property after other agents tried and failed. In addition he managed to secure us a property also listed by Pocock and Shaw. It has been a difficult time in the current climate and stressful at times however they are always positive and keep you motivated. In the unlikely event we have to move house again I would use them again without hesitation. And as a testament to their own reputation most of the other properties on the Cathedral View estate are now listed with Pocock and Shaw!

I cannot recommend Pocock and Shaw enough. Magnus is an exceptional lead for the business. He showed complete enthusiasm and passion for selling our house and was encouraging and reassuring every time I panicked during the process. Corinne showed us around our new home on more than one occasion and was thorough, giving us all the information we needed but allowing us the space to have a look around in our own time. Elen managed both our purchase and sale and is efficient, diligent, professional and on top of EVERYTHING at all times. Linda arranged everything for us and was completely in the loop at every stage. It was an absolute pleasure interacting and communicating with Elen because she was responsive, prompt and patient with so many of our queries as first time buyers. Her approach helped us to calm down in this long drawn out process, and finally, the completion was smooth and with in the time frame, in spite of the chain. Elen also gave us some post-completion support by acting as a go-between us and the previous owner for some utilities related information. Me and my girlfriend had an appointment with Pocock & Shaw to view a property for rent on Kings Avenue in Ely. We arrived early and waited in our car until the arranged time of 1:30pm on Saturday the 15th December.
We approached the property and knocked on the door expecting an agent to be there waiting. There was no one in. So we returned to our car and waited a further 30 minutes. During this time I rang the Ely Pocock & Shaw office, no answer, so I left a message to say we were waiting and whether the appointment was still on.
We left the area of the property and decided to go to the office and see if anyone was in. There wasn’t, but the lights were on.
For both of us never owning or renting a place of our own before, this wasn’t a good start.
As Monday morning came around I was hoping to have my message returned and the agent ring me to explain. I heard nothing, so I decided to ring myself. I spoke to the Director (Magnus) and he was apologetic but did not have a reason to give me and my girlfriend as to why we were left waiting on such a cold day as it was.
We rearranged an appointment for Wednesday the 19th Dec as we were still interested in viewing. He told me he would be there personally. (Unfortunately my girlfriend couldn’t attend as she was at work.)
I arrived at the property at 1:00pm on Wednesday to be met not by Magnus, but by a woman named Corin. Who right from the start I felt was rude, made me feel very uneasy, uncomfortable and quite frankly felt like she didn’t give a s**t about showing me the property. Her answers to my questions were very short and she did not engage in general chat whatsoever.
When I left the property I still felt uneasy and even more disappointed because the property ticked a lot of boxes me and my girlfriend were looking for.
I immediately went to the offices of Pocock & Shaw, to my amazement the director was there. He asked how can he help, I explained we spoke on the phone etc etc. I told him I felt uneasy during the viewing and not much general information was given to me about renting, as I have never rented before. So we sat down and went through the process of application forms and credit checks etc.
This did ease my mind a little but I still felt overall a huge lack of professionalism, manners and people not keeping to their word.
I would not recommend Pocock & Shaw.

Greg made this the easiest of house sales with a realistic valuation and a prompt agreement to sell to a buyer in a good position to proceed quickly. He was helpful in small details, as well as showing clients round, caretaking the property in our absence, and many other actions.

We were so pleased that we chose Pocock and Shaw as our agents. We had what proved to be quite a tricky and drawn out sale and there is no way that it would have all gone through without staff at Pocock and Shaw really going above and beyond (and all the while keeping us sane and reassured).
From the very start of getting our house valued, we felt that Pocock and Shaw understood us and what we wanted, and were respectful of how much we loved the home in which we'd begun our family. They secured a very good deal for us, enabling us to buy the next family home we were after for our growing needs.

I had 3 quotes from estate agents and Pocock & Shaw were in the middle which I felt was reasonable. They were already handling the house I wanted to buy so decided to instruct them to sell mine too... Magnus gave simple recommendations for what would increase chances of a sale and was upfront about all costs. It took nearly 7 months from sale to completion but I must stress that none of that was the fault of Pocock & Shaw - I would go as far as to say that without their continued effort, the chain would have certainly failed. I did not feel at any point that they had lost interest in my sale/purchase or me as a customer as the time dragged on and can honestly say they did more than they were contracted throughout the process. This ranged from speaking to solicitors, estate agents and the clients across the whole chain to try and get the correct information and where possible - push things along (things the solicitors should have been doing but were not). As another reviewer mentioned - Magnus was not always directly contactable, however the benefit of him being part of a team - there was always someone to take the call in the office and pass on a message. I would even get the odd reply in an evening while Magnus was doing the weekly shop because he had not managed to reply during the day but knew I was expecting a call.
They really earned their money at the end when tensions were high and Solicitors were not proactively trying to do the exchange within the chain. It Was Magnus and Greg calling the solicitors and clients to co-ordinate and keep me updated on where the issues were. Even after the sale/purchase - Magnus has contacted me on 3 separate occasions as a courtesy call to make sure all is OK and that there was nothing further I needed help with.
I hope I don't need to move for a very long time - but if I ever find myself in that position again - Pocock & Shaw will definitely be my first port of call and I would recommend their services to anyone looking for a good estate agent that is focused on your needs and not just the financial gain from another sale.

Highly recommend. They were the ones I bought my house through and were my first choice for selling it. Without them, and Magnus there especially, I believe my sale would have taken a further month after issues occurred up my chain. Magnus took on our concerns of a further delay and used his contacts to express the issues and urgency on exchanging within that week. He bypassed my vendors estate agent and reached higher up in the chain through his network of contacts and helped unblock our chain.
They can't work miracles, but they are customer focused and will do what they can to push through a constipated chain. My strongest statement for them is I will no longer be in their catchment area, but I wish to use them again in the future because of my experience with them.
Unfortunately they might be their own undoing, Magnus offers something special, but as he is so good he can be in high demand which may makes him harder to get to at times. But keep with them, and understand lots of people also face the similar challenges of dealing with poorer estate agents and solicitors in their chain (make sure you get a good solicitor and not the cheapest one).
These are good guys I found, they don't over price and cut back to get your business. They don't offer the rock bottom fees and let you wilt on the vine. They are the best compromise between initial asking price and fee charged, and more then fully earned every penny and more for what they charged me for my sale. I can not recommend more!

Pocock & Shaw have been beyond amazing! The efforts of Magnus and Jo, who also took on the communication of my private purchase, through what has been a very stressful and pressured process due to ridiculously bad conveyancing firms, managed to help turn around the chain in 11 weeks from instructing solicitors to completion. This has been a phenomenal turn around given that we were dealing with the sale/purchase of a shared equity property and the purchase of a properly who’s owners no longer live in the UK. Would highly recommend!

I have recently bought a house through Pocock and Shaw and they have been fantastic. Moving house can be stressful, and they really helped me. Their service was excellent and the level of care and support really made a difference.
I have bought and sold through several other local agents, but none of them provided the level of service that Pocock and Shaw. I think the move would have fallen through without their support, and they went above and beyond.
They responded to queries within minutes, kept me updated, helped me when a solicitor wasn't communicating well, had a sense of humour, and made the whole process much smoother and easier.
I really can't praise them enough - they're my heroes!

Great Estate Agents to deal with, a friend recommended them and I can confirm that they were well priced and do everything efficiently and professionally. I had a serious offer before my home went live and it was sold less than a week after it went to market. Definitely client orientated, friendly and customer focused. Magnus was the main agent I was dealing with but everyone was inlvoled in the office. Jack and Helen did the viewings and Linda put together the advert. Highly recommend using this Estate Agent as they worked very hard for me and kept me well informed for the short time I was their client.
