We had very good service when we we recently sold our property in Cambridge. From the initial contacts, the excellent photographs and brochure, to the professional management of viewings, all the staff were effective and pleasant. The final negociations were well handled. I would certainly recommend Carter Jonas.

Absolutely disgraceful. Not the branch's fault, but we checked out 3 weeks ago from our tenancy. To date we have had to chase, call, email and argue and still nothing, no deposit return despite the landlord approving it weeks ago. This morning we spoke to 2 different people who told us 2 different stories: Story 1: their systems have been down and they have not made any deposit returns for 48 hours, and Story 2: they only make new tenant deposit returns at the end of the month, and as we are "old" tenants having been there for 3 years, this won't happen till net week. Come on WH Brown and Sequence Group. Is cash flow that tight?
I first used the services of Shires Residential back in July 2007, when I purchased two 'buy to let' properties and recently used their services again (December 18) to sell one of these properties. There are estate agents …..and then there is Shires Residential, who, in my opinion are light years ahead of their opposition, not just in in terms of the quality of their service, but equally, their polite, courteous and extremely helpful way in which they deal with their customers. Whatever rates they might charge, I'm not only guided by cost, but I also look at value for money, which I strongly feel that Shires always provide. This is why I will always go back to them, period. Special mention to Richard Carrington and Sue Williams, both of whom I have had the pleasure to meet and work with over the years. They are both honest, helpful, friendly, trustworthy and hard working people...what more could you ask for?
Rubish... they are complete rubish... avoid them... I viewed a few places with them they were late to a two viewing and thier letting agents treated me as if I couldnt understand plain english.... I will not be doing business with them ever again....

Any communication took months before getting an answer...and i rented an apartment for 4 years...and it was always painful to communicate with them. Any time new people to talk to and always without a clue on anything. ...
I left the property weeks ago in good conditions and I still have to receive an answer about my deposit... called 2 times but the answer is always that someone got sick or out of the office...it seems they are making joke of you....

Very poor service!!!! After viewing and paying down £350.00 to hold a house to rent, the service was extremely Poor!!! The refranceing part was even more shocking when they did not understand the way my income was tax, after I had explained it to them going back and fort from the agent to the referencing company. They gave a decision that wrongfully reflexed my income. I then had to get my accountant to call them and explain the way my income and taxation works even duo I did this twice before. The office then stopped answering my phone calls, and when I did get hold of them I using 141 to block my number they answer my call right after i called showing my number. I was then given a runaround story by the staff and was told that i'll be called back within five min's once they talked to someone in the office; or they have to talk to the landlord; This went on and I was never called back by anyone till I called them the next day, I even left it for two day when I was told I was getting a call back stright away, and never did. From the day I paid my money to the day I HAD IT with all the Extremely POOR Service 17days had pass!! which was full of stress and upset for me as having to move house with 4 children is a stress in it self but having to put up with the incompetent staff at Abbotts letting, I called up to cancle everything I did not care if the landlord say yes or no to me renting the house all I wanted was my money back!! even this I now have to wait for as the only member of staff that can do refunds within the whold of Abbotts is on holiday till next Monday! I'm doing a live radio interview on BBC Cambridgeshir today and i'm going to get this story into it because people are held at ransom by letting agents cause the need somewhere to live so we put up with all The POOR Service, The Rude staff, The Lack of Empty at what is very stressful times. You had my money and still DO!! you also had an obligation to me as much as you have for the landlord to provide me with a Open,Honest and respectfull service. Which did not happen in this case!!! POOR POOR POOR POOR SERVICE "abbots" Never Again
