I met with 3 estate agents and all were professional and offered a similar valuation. What made Pocock and Shaw different was Piers local knowledge and that they offered a 2 week withdrawal from using them. We did not need this as we had an offer within 2 working days of the listing!... Read more

Where do I start? Moved into a rented property that was 'professionally cleaned'. Well it wasn't. After 2days in the property my dog had fleas and you could physically see them I the carpet along with black dog hair (my dog is white). Photos sent to to Pocock and received hostility. 2x windows leak water when raining, still not fixed. Bath leaks into kitchen below, still not fixed. No signal from TV aerial, get told its my responsibility to fix. No stable heating or hot water source from November until May (kept tripping off sometimes even after a few seconds). They decided to send an engineer with a key while no one was at home on 3 occasions. I had to point out this was illegal without content. They informed me they could as it was an emergency. I reminded them that I complained about the issue several months ago. Why was it not an emergency then? An engineer explained that the water tank in loft area is overflowing and reported this to Pocock. No response. This has lead to increased water bill and now a leak into the master bedroom from the loft. The roof looks like it's about to fall in. All in all, I understand that it is a collaboration from Pocock to the landlord. But all Pocock offer is hesitation, bad attitude and no urgency. They will only arrange something when it suits them. I moved into my current flat about 2 weeks ago. With my big surprise there was not hot water... At the current state I still have to wash myself with cold water despite the many 'the plumber will sort this out shortly'. Totally unacceptable service, I cannot believe none checked the state of the boiler/hot water when they did the checkout for the previous tenant.... Read more

After an initial enquiry, no one got back to me so I had to chase it up with them and managed to book a viewing. Their man Piers was late and didn't bother to call us or even text.. I had to phone the office to find out what was happening. Piers was ‘running late’ after being caught at another viewing. Then they called back to say he was actually stuck on a phone call in the office. Either way, not a good start. Eventually Piers turned up 20 minutes late with no apology and an apathetic attitude. Opened the door to the property where a soaking wet duvet welcomed us on entering. Considering the state of the house (no carpets, wet floor, skirting boards hanging off etc) there was no real attempt to sell the property.. minimal explanation for the state. Zero effort to get us excited or interested in renting with them.. customer service skills completely lacking. Piers didn’t show us around just stood there in the middle of the dining room awkwardly not saying much. ‘A true industry expert’ bringing that ‘professionalism in everything he does’ - not on this day. Maybe he doesn’t have time/motivation to deal with rentals? - so perhaps send someone who actually cares and wants to help renters make a decision. With a little bit of enthusiasm and customer care we could have easily seen potential in the property. Overall, terrible experience with pocock and shaw. Hope it improves should I choose to use their services again in future.... Read more

We recently sold through Pocock and Shaw’s Burwell/Newmarket office and the whole team were amazing. We were in a long chain and they went above and beyond to get all parts of the chain moving. An incredible and hardworking team, I cannot recommend them enough. They were compassionate and helpful in a difficult market and kept me updated every step of the way.
