We purchased and then later sold our house via R Whitley's and both times our experience has been outstanding with them. Everyone we dealt with was professional, courteous and I felt that they always had our best interest in their mind. We especially appreciated their perseverance in selling our house that was happening in difficult market conditions, but they managed to get there at the end. They always followed up with people viewing the house and kept us updated on progress, even if there wasn't much to update on. I really wish all estate agents were like them and would thoroughly recommend them.

We were looking in the area they work in so we crossed paths more than once during our house search. a shout out to mary-joy who was accommodating and answered all our queries and followed up on things for us when we were most picky, and a special thank you from the heart to tony. tony was following up with our solicitor to make sure things are done on time and called to check up on things and I think if it wasn't for him things would have stalled. he is an outstanding agent who came after we moved to show me things around the house and even tought me how to use the electric shower and opened the water valves for us. Although we did not proceed with the sale due to our own personal situation. I cannot recommend the R Whitely team enough. We were looking to upsize and needed to sell our current property and purchase another new property.
During viewings for the sale of our property, the team were always prompt and provided feedback of the viewings. Once we had offers, the team were prompt to communicate with us and follow up. Every offer was documented and communicated to us via phone and email.
With regards to viewings of potential properties to purchase, the treatment was the same, professional conduct and were open and honest. We had open communication, offers promptly presented in writing, and follow up calls and emails to update us on the situation.

Mark took me to numerous viewings of property’s that he felt fitted my property criteria and really listened to what I wanted from a property. Richard, Mark and most importantly Mary-Joy were instrumental in getting us through what turned out to be a difficult 8 month sale due to a terrible solicitor (Convey Law). Mary-Joy was always available and seemed at some points to be working full time just on our move to make sure our sale didn't collapse. She was always on top of what was going on and made sure we were in the loop. I really couldn't recommend her and the team anymore!
We managed to get our sale in a slow market for flats, and this was definitely helped by a fair valuation and great in house photography/virtual tour.

I can't begin to put into words how incredibly helpful R.Whitley and all of its staff have been during the purchase of our dream home. Ever since the sale was agreed, Mark and Mary-Joy have been an absolute pleasure to work with. First of all, they are so warm and so friendly, they really make you feel that they are with you throughout this process. Mark has been extremely helpful in helping us secure our home at the very start of the process. He constantly took our calls, replied to our emails very efficiently and showed us the property with absolute enthusiasm. He really did warm us up to the house even more just by being his optimistic self.
Mary-Joy has been incredibly supportive, simply a pleasure to work with. I would need to write an entire letter just to thank her for huge efforts in getting us to the end of this process. Without her, I must say we would probably not be where we are. She has been determined throughout this whole process to move the entire chain forward towards the right direction. She would regularly keep me up to date and most of the time she was the one doing all the chasing for me which freed up alot of my time! She even spent her days off keeping in touch, to make sure our solicitors were progressing as they should have been. I can't be thankful enough for the level of care she has shown us despite the fact that she was going through the process of selling her home simultaneously, and was even keeping in touch during her two days off whilst she was supposed to be busy moving homes herself. I really felt like the staff at R.Whitley have become our family and friends during the months its taken for our contracts to be exchanged. I used Whitley estate agents based on recommendation from a friend who used them to rent out their flat. From the outset I could sense they were different from the agents I had used in the past.
Mark with whom I first made contact provided all the information I requested and I felt no pressure to appoint them to manage my flat.
They are knowledgeable about the regulations surrounding the rental property market and guided me on several challenging aspects.
They pre-vetted prospective tenants so when I did interview any interested party I knew they were potential tenants. In fact the first people I interviewed are now my tenants!
I found Whitley flexible enough to accept flat-specific wording in the AST and were quite accurate in what needed to be done to make the property more saleable. Of note is the use of a 360 degree interactive video of the flat which gives any viewer a very good picture of the property.
I am happy with the interaction and responsiveness to date and look forward to a continued professional relationship with them.

I moved home in September. We had a horrible experience with the estate agents who handled the sale. they were very pushing, demanding & rude. we managed to purchase that house in spite of their actions. We are starting a refurbishment project on that house & needed to rent a house whilst the work is being carried out. We were made aware of a rental managed by R Whitley & Co. The lady I spoke to & liased with was Irma Cushman. I found her to polite, responsive, quick to answer emails & calls. She even emailed after we had moved in to check we were happy.
A totally different experience from our purchase estate agents.

My partner and I are two reputable professionals who had a very poor experience with this group.
We were interested in renting a 2 bedroom property which was managed by them. Without seeing a virtual or physical tour, my partner made an immediate 3 month up front offer for the property. We made the offer on the same day the property was on the market therefore I'd like to think we should have been prioritised due to the seriousness of our enquiry. We were by no means timewasters like they are used to seeing daily.
My partner chased them everyday for a response to the offer. Calls and emails were not responded to in a timely manner. When we did get through, excuses were made that we had to view the property first although we had seen pictures and we were happy. There was no mention of other serious interest which could give us a fair shake as we really wanted the property.
After a physical viewing, It still took them a week to put the offer in front of the landlord only to send a lacklustre rejection email letter without an explanation or insight to what transpired. We had rejected other offers for letting as we had other agencies chasing us. We were mugged and had our valuable time wasted by this none professional outfit of an agency.
Everything was soooo slow and they were none responsive. The email rejection was a one liner that proves what a bunch of jokers these guys are.
My partner and I had to pick up the phone and call and asked what happened, only to be told that the landlord had accepted another offer.
So wait, did you give us a chance for a counter offer? Did you tell us there were interested parties? You know full well we are on the market for a property, but they didnt even offer additional help to find elsewhere?
BUNCH OF JOKERS and I would never take my business to these clowns ever again. Our interest was not treated as seriously as we treated them. They made me sick to my stomach in the way we were dealt with.

As a first time buyer, the property process is very daunting and can be really complicated. I had viewed 18 properties across 6 different Estate Agents until I viewed my purchased property through R Whitley.
You can see in the quality of the listing how much care and effort has gone into showing all features of the property, especially during a time when viewings were limited. I really commend the virtual dollhouse feature/virtual tour on the listing as this enabled me to arrange a viewing with confidence. Even at the Exchange stage this feature has been useful in planning ahead for moving in day and measuring for furniture!
The team have been polite, professional and provide frequent communication which has always been reassuring as they have been aware to chase/update whenever needed.

I rented a 2 bed flat and must say Alex, Chris, Gyan were very professional in relation to how the entire process was handled and even upon vacating the flat. I was very pleased with my stay for over 3 years and anytime I experienced problems they were handled efficiently. I would never have any issue renting through R Whitley again in the future.
It also helps when you have a landlord who is very understanding as I had 2 young kids and the landlord never had any objections renting out the flat once the application was approved.

These people specially Mark Newbold and Alex are very nice and professional. The problem is when we rented the detached bungalow in Moorfield Rd, Cowley Ub8, the landlord took over the management in the middle of tenancy and it ended up he did not refund the deposit although we were paying regularly and left the property tide and clean. Be careful if you are renting or will rent this detatched bungalow at Moorfield Rd as the landlord is a nightmare, never fixes anything, and does not return deposits. I am in the process of taking him to the court.
Please don't mix here between the estate agency who are excellent people and my very bad experience of renting this bungalow because of the landlord who ruined my experience.

Even though we have fully explained, what kind of properties we would be interested in, they were showing us places either too small or in a really bad condition. Superior and excellent Agents I just wish they were national, they promised no Saturday staff only full time highly experienced professional and committed staff who visited and familiarised themselves with the property in advance always able to lock up properly . Selling your house can be a roller coaster of viewings , solicitors and legal questions and they were always happy to help with the smallest to the biggest of questions and if they didn't know they knew where to get the answers, they never overstepped their remit always being transparent and ethical . Their communication skills were second to none.They answer the phone and answer your questions via email or phone the same day without fail.

I had a few obstacles along the way, which was completely out of R Whitleys hands - which my solicitor should probably have been dealing with, however the Rich Whitley and Marc Gunton intervened and took control of the situation (more than once) and kept me updated constantly, which put me at ease straight away as I had total trust in them. Not once did I not get an update when they said I would. I don’t have one complaint at all about the entire team. They make it all feel very personal. Our family have been using Whitley's for many decades, initially as letting agents and, more latterly, as estate agents as we sold off the rental properties we owned in Yiewsley. In both respects they have delivered a faultless service, in a personable manner and at a reasonable cost. Our latest experience was a particularly difficult house sale. The process took over six months during which time we lost four buyers (most of whom, it was established later, were never serious). During this time we were given sound advice from our agent, Marc Gunton, and regularly kept up to date with progress. In the run up to completion Marc increased the pressure on the more flaky bottom end of the chain and, to be honest, did far more than all of the solicitors combined to ensure that the sale went through in a timely manner. However, it's not just Marc as over the years we have dealt with almost everyone in the firm and they have all delivered the same, high quality service. Consequently I can unreservedly recommend Whitley's as both an estate and a letting agent.

Throughout the sale of our property Ben contacted us weekly to update us on progress with feedback from viewings. As the sale proceeded we were updated regularly and any issues dealt with promptly.

The team of people that I worked with were brilliant, from the person who first took me out to view several properties to the people who answered the phone every time. The particulars for all of the properties were very professional and informative with accurate floor plans. I was able to have regular contact with my agent who kept me informed all the way along and was able to provide me with invaluable tips and advice as a first time buyer and walk me through exactly how the whole process would work and any bumps that there may be along the way. Terrible service, taken a year to fix a leaking shower which has caused much more damage to the property and still nothing has been done. Have offered to fix the problem myself as I'm fully qualified and insured to do so but still nothing. My children are in danger of the kitchen ceiling falling on them and yet nobody seems to care! Have emailed phoned and even visited them in person and still nothing. I bet if I was a day late on the rent they'd be phoning me repeatedly. Maybe they'll take notice of this as they won't be getting a penny more till it's sorted!

I cannot believe the one and only negative review I have just read about Whitleys. This has not been my experience. They are the best estate agents around - don't take my word for it. Try their service and you will see how good and professional a company they really are. Clear, honest, transparent and fair. Give them a call and you will make your own mind up upon first contact!

EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE - STAY AWAY !!!
I would like to highlight this company is a complete and utter waste of time, i have been trying to deal with Stephen L Whitley who is a senior partner in this company (commercial dept) and all he has done is waste my time, come and viewed my property back in November 2015 which I wanted to market to Let and i have been chasing him ever since with no real response only time delaying emails, considering they are the main commercial agents in the area i waited patiently for them, in the mean time with a simple advert in GUMTREE i temporarily let the property my self free of charge.
I would highly advice you stay aware from these time wasters, there are much better companies out there who are more helpful and pro active, i am extremely shocked and disappointed in such a poor level of service from a senior partner and especially a long established company - looks like they will be going down like Woolworths if they don't improve their service.
It makes you wonder how such companies can survive with such poor level of service as they are not interested and just mess people around. I am going to investigate them further and expose them.
what is there to say they do the same with any offers on already marketed properties ? How can you trust what they say ?
seriously do not bother wasting your time with them.
I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU AVOID THIS COMPANY !!!

I am not their client, but I have issue with the tenants who rented from them. I called them and told about the issue, they help me even if I had never paid for any of their service. Really love them!
