Really disappointed by this estate agency, I am a first time buyer so don’t have much experience with this, but I know it’s not right. I was asked for my best and final offer on a property the same day I viewed it because there was so much interest. He told me the actual value of the other ‘offers’ which were up to 10K over the asking price and said they wanted to go straight in with best and final to ‘avoid a bidding war’. Feeling somewhat pressured, I made an offer. The following day, David called me and told me there was an offer higher than mine and asked for my best and final offer, AGAIN. When I questioned this and referenced his previous comment around wanting to ‘avoid a bidding war’ the previous day, he couldn’t answer me and was abrupt after that. I messaged to confirm I was sticking with my original best and final offer because honestly I didn’t believe them by this point. I then messaged him twice for updates on my offer and they never opened my message or responded. Awful really, and 100% causing bidding wars in bad faith by telling people the value of other ‘offers’. I actively wouldn’t view a house with them again, AVOID!
UPDATE 1: Upon seeing their reply to this, which is very defensive - please see screenshots clearly showing I sent my best and final offer the first day as asked, I messaged again the following day confirming again it was my best and final offer after their next call to get me to up my offer - apologised for missing their call and then messaged again for an update, with no response to either…
UPDATE 2: Upon seeing they’ve totally deleted their initial, defensive response where they called me a liar twice and said my version of events was a fantasy when it’s all totally true - please see their original response attached, which luckily I screenshot to send to my friends because of how horrified I was.
1. Best and FINAL offer means bid the highest you can and it’s your only chance, which is what they asked me for on day 1 - before calling and asking me if I could up my offer the following day due to higher bids. If this isn’t a bidding war, I don’t know what is.
2. They said I increased my offer, which is a lie because I only submitted one offer on this property as I was told it was best and final.
3. They did not call me twice, they called me once which I missed and replied early the following morning to apologise and advise if they called while I was at work I’d call back - with no response, they didn’t open this message and no further calls or communication.
4. They are using their NOW friendly, political response to this which is visible to do some positive PR on Facebook around trying to help first time buyers ‘understand’ the buying process. I understand what best and FINAL means. Hilarious really after calling me a liar and writing a scathing, unprofessional and frankly shocking response the first time.

Robinson David handled the purchase of our in our home move and after dealing with them we will certainly be using them if we were to sell in the future. Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Rob knew everything about the property when we viewed it, didn't feel rushed like we have with other estate agents. David brings great knowledge of the market.
The WhatsApp group between us Rob and David was a great touch so easy to get quick answers and for Rob and David to update us which they did often.
They pushed all sides and solicitors really well and we felt that it was them who took control and managed the whole chain.

I highly recommend Robinson David. We've just sold our old house and bought our new one both through Robinson David. They were professional throughout and gave good advice particularly on how to present our house for sale and where to pitch it pricewise.
The chain we were in got more complicated higher up. The other estate agents and solicitors involved communicated poorly and it is thanks to the efforts of Robinson David that the whole chain was able to complete successfully. If you need a great local estate agent in Gloucestershire, look no further.

David and his Father, Rob were so friendly, professional and helpful and really put us at ease. We were very impressed with the quality of the photos that David took himself, and the time and effort he went to, to ensure they were of the highest quality. I cannot thank David and Rob enough for making my experience as a first time buyer super smooth and relaxed as I navigated the minefield of tasks throughout the process. Amazing estate agent. Personal friendly and ensured that even though we had a complex sale David worked hard to check that any queries were resolved promptly. David made sure we could always contact him and liasied with all parties to ensure things were as smooth as could be. When our estste agent was awful for our sale and we parted ways, David was able to step in and finish off the process on the sale side as well as our purchase. Our experience with Robinson David has been brilliant from start to finish. I really cannot recommend them highly enough. Their approach is different and so refreshing compared to our previous experiences. From the get go, the way in which David and team conduct themselves, quality of advert and pictures produced and professionalism we knew we were in safe hands and it’s just as well as our conveyancing processes has been long and difficult, due to our large and complex chain. I could not recommend David and his team anymore, incredibly friendly and professional from the very first meet right through until completion.
Unlike a lot of the high street chain agents the attention to detail was amazing and he went above and beyond to get things done & take the stress of selling away.
