Samuel estates recently took over the management of our two rental properties and so far, I have been impressed by the service received. Most of my contact has been with Whitney, who has been nothing but superb in her help. The accounts team also are on top of sending rent payments swiftly and Luke who has recently been involved with negotiating a rent increase with our existing tenants has executed this in an efficient manner so all in all an improvement in service from that received by Laurels whose service deteriorated and sold their lettings arm to Samuel estates without informing all of their clients with a weeks' notice of transfer.

I can't praise enough the service I receive, and always have received, from Samuel Estates.
On this occasion, my Tenancy Agreement was due for renewal. Luke Pegg has been absolutely brilliant. He dealt with the administration from start to finish. He suggested it was the right time to increase the rent and negotiated an increase that was mutually agreeable to my tenants and myself.
He kept me informed throughout the process and I haven't had to do a thing but answer a few emails.
You might say, that's his job. Yes! But what a difference it makes when dealing with an enthusiastic, polite, thoughtful agent who you don't have to chase, who answers emails promptly and is working conscientiously. It's a pleasure having Luke 'sort me out'.

As I private landlord using the managed service I found the experience with Samuel estates shockingly bad. There was a high staff turnover in the period that we were with them which caused problems with communication to the point where the tenants were contacting us directly with issues because of a lack of engagement from the agency. Each new contact at the agency blamed the previous contact for problems and no ownership was ever displayed. Avoid .

No communication at all.
1) After one year renting a property, I was supposed to renew the contract. I have been chasing the company during 3 months to sign the new contract which technically will include some improvements. No answer, no phone calls, not answering the emails.
2) I have reported leaking and toilet issues to the agency from more than 4 months ago. Still waiting, no answer, no phone calls no answering emails.
It is just a shame.
Maybe writing this here, they will take into account my concerns.

Selling a family home after 20 years is bound to be a stressful and somewhat emotional experience. I needed an estate agent with a personal approach and a certain amount of sensitivity to the situation. In Samuel Estates I found just those qualities. Paul was involved throughout the sometimes tricky process and was always professional, supportive and encouraging. He was able to remain positive when the whole transaction seemed likely to collapse and saw it through to a successful conclusion. Daniel was reliable and punctual for appointments and made good connection with potential buyers. I would highly recommend Samuel Estates.

Have used Samuel Estates for a decade managing properties across London. They provide good advice on all aspects of renting properties and work hard to resolve problems in a practical way. Would highly recommend.
Paul Ahearn and his team are the most pro-active and reasonable estate agents I have ever used. Very professional and have helped save me time, hassle and money by fixing many issues over the years before they become problematic. A very different approach to that you will get from other agents who will do the bare minimum and inflate costs.

Paul at Samuel Estates started off managing 3 of our rental properties almost 10 years ago now and while our dedicated property managers have changed over the years, Paul has always been a solid and reliable point of contact whenever we needed him. Luckily that hasn't been often at all since his team do an excellent job of communicating well when decisions are required, but taking the workload off our shoulders when they know they can just apply common sense.
If you're looking for a fully or partially managed rental in the Balham, Clapham or Wimbledon areas I can highly recommend Paul and his team at Samuel Estates - they put on a stellar service!

I have been renting my property out through Samuel Estates for several years now. They have always been efficient and professional; the service provided is excellent.
I have had experience of other agents that 'claim' to be acting as a managing agent, but actually they didn't know what they were doing or seem to care. Samuel Estates actual do, and they do it well. They have been excellent in dealing with the day to day management, and their resolution of any general repair, maintenance or tenant issues has been quick and painless.
Thoroughly recommend them, and they are good value too. A great business and an asset to the local community.
