Avoid this letting agent. Small, very unprofessional and not client-oriented at all. The ways they are dealing with clients are very discriminating and irritating. We viewed one listed flat from them and were the first to place the offer and tried to negotiate with the landlord. (Even just one hour before the viewing, the letting agent Joe Davison called and postponed the viewing for another one hour). Since the agent itself is also the property manager, it is a great conflicts of interest for them to find tenants with some requests. Very surprisingly and irritatingly, Joe Davison was not responding at all towards our offer(neither email or phone for 7 days), and we tried to call him after 48 hours and every-time we called, he only said he would discuss with the landlord but however neglected us at all and did not call back as he promised on the phone. He even confessed that he just neglected us, and he knew some offer would appear as the landlord wish. We have told him plenty of times saying we are willing to negotiate but obviously he just used our offer as a standby to show to the landlord that he has done a good job. Pity also for the landlord, we are willing to pay even higher than the asking price but we don't even know whether the agent has already acted illegally to "choose" on the landlord's behalf since he can easily block all the information. Ashamed to have been in touch with such an agent in UK(as always letting agents are very quick in reaction to tell you yes or no within maximum 24 hours and try to help you either to negotiate or to directly find sth else). If you want to choose him, first check his linked-in profile and you will know why he is not doing a good job as compared to other agent in this competitive UK market.

Avoid this agency at all costs.
They are working with incompetent landlords like ours who wasn't doing repairs for 2 years and after the end of the tenancy he has been unlawfully refusing to return the deposit to us for more than 28 days, saying he needs to bring the flat up to the market, ignoring the fact that it is his own fault that he wasn't doing it in the due time. No help from Scott city, even though his actions are undoubtedly against the law and the contract. All they do is respond: 'We don't maintain this flat!'
We were left without hot water for three weeks during winter time as well - all thanks to that landlord.
Avoid.

In early 2015 Scott City rented the flat downstairs from me to a woman as tenant and with her as a "permitted resident" on the tenancy was an otherwise homeless man who was deranged and frequently had violent outbursts in the stairwell, banging a big stick on the stairs and wall and shouting foul language. I don't know what Scott City does re taking up references on people before renting to them, but it doesn't appear to have been effective given that Scott City allowed a violent, mad, stinking tramp to move in. The man would be violently banging and shouting in the stairwell for a long time during these outbursts, not just the time it takes to walk down the stairs. I was on occasions unable to go out when I wanted to because the man was having a violent outburst in the stairwell - so I was trapped in my flat until he had finished and left. I was always very scared using the stairwell in case I met him. I was wedging a chair against my front door whenever I was in as I was really scared of this crazy old tramp. Apart from the violence and disturbance and fright, the stairwell absolutely stank all the time he lived there. He was eventually asked to leave the flat, but the woman he was living there with was allowed to remain - and he then continued hanging around outside our building, sitting just watching the building for hours on end, and trying to get inside whenever he could - and it is clear he is indeed a tramp as he often slept the night outside our building. The woman tenant he was living with would over the road to talk to him, and it was eventually discovered she'd been sneaking him back to stay in the flat with her whenever no-one was around to see. I contacted Scott City to ask them to do something about this but was horrified when they responded basically telling me I was a liar because their tenant had told them the tramp wasn't hanging around outside the flat - when he was, every day and every night! Scott City would not accept what I said and would not do anything. Scott City is allowed the woman to remain even though they had been placed on notice that her being there meant the tramp hung around most of the time outside the building and often tried to get in. A little boy who lived in the building was scared to go out because the tramp was always there. I too was scared and felt my safety was at risk from this deranged violent character constantly around our building, watching our building, watching all the residents coming and going, and trying to get in. I eventually had no option but to go to the police, and in July 2016 the police managed to remove the tramp from the area. At that time, the woman's tenancy was then terminated by Scott City - something that in my view a responsible letting agent would have ensured happened much sooner. Scott City found these people, as I've said goodness knows whether they took up any references before allowing a deranged violent tramp to move in. Scott City basically called me a liar in what I was telling them during some of 2015 and seemed unconcerned about the threat to the safety of the residents of the building. Consequently, I would not recommend Scott City to anyone - especially if you are a landlord, beware because your flat could be occupied by a drunken violent stinking tramp like the flat below me was.

I've rented property from Scott City over several years now and always found the service exemplary.
The guys in the office are always helpful and willing to listen even if I've had concerns that weren't strictly speaking within their brief.
Recently I purchased my own apartment through them and they handled what could have been a challenging transaction with their usual professionalism. I think it's very apparent that this is a family run business who really care about their clients.
