I've had multiple dealings with estate agents having to move / rent at least 7 times and Shires has been the worst, most inconsiderate, most unattentive and most unkind. Following our initial viewing, we've never had any inventory check with them after having to delay our move in and telling us that they've had to do "maintenance" on the property (yeah, right!). I do regret allowing them to just hand us the keys on the day we moved in without anyone checking the property with us on the day. Trying to get anything sorted or fixed takes months and what any other agency would have considered urgent such as mains water leaks and a broken smoke detector / fire alarm, for Shires was no urgent matter. Funny thing is by the time we've finally left the property, they were trying to put the issues that were already there on us specifically the damage caused by the water leak amongst multiple others. Luckily we've saved images and emails from then. They even had a very old, worn curtain with a massive stain that was in the property on the day we moved in which no sensible person would still use thus we just put it away then back when we moved out which they then also pointed out on the check out inventory as us causing. Don't even get me started on how our move out process went as that was the most stressful time. I am just so glad that we don't have to deal with them anymore and I will make sure to let all my friends and family know to avoid them at all costs!

AVOID!! Been an absolute nightmare as one of their tenants.
We moved out of the property a month ago and still waiting to hear anything about the deposit, getting no response to emails and having to constantly chase them and getting poor excuses back, we left the house is great condition so no excuse for it.
On top of that we had carbon monoxide leaks told wont be fixed as not dangerous enough to damage us. We had a boiler repair man come by and he told us we never should’ve passed gas safety check as how poor and old-condition the whole system, with a bunch of stuff that was out of regulation. Informed them and nothing sorted they didn’t care. Landlord was also turning up on property without warning for months, letting himself tend to garden at early hours of the morning very noisily, took many complaints to stop this.
Convinced the only reason they have good reviews on here is because they ask tenants to leave a review upon signing the tenancy initially. Worst UK agency i’ve ever dealt with
UPDATE- we had to go direct to the deposit service to even get them to start the process, they tried charging us for issues we had nothing to do with which we refuted and eventually they gave us our deposit back, almost 3 months after moving out and having left their property immaculate. Then they had the cheek to ask us to remove this review. Terrible company, stick to one of the reputable companies in the area and save yourself a lot of hassle

Shires in Mildenhall have been incredibly supportive, helpful, and kind throughout our entire home search and move. Jake has been especially fantastic! Working with him was a big factor in us choosing to rent with shires and he has gone above and beyond in helping us find a home we love and move in with ease. Massive thank you to Jake and the whole Shires team!!

Jake was super helpful with the housing process. I’m new at renting, he went into great detail and answered every question thoroughly. Shires has great response time as well as helping with each process. I would definitely rent from them again and recommend to my friends!

The team at this agency is absolutely phenomenal. They were very helpful and professional for the entire process from start to finish. Even in my indecisiveness they catered to my needs and wants and helped me find the perfect home. The entire staff was helpful but Jake really stood out so if you need a realtor go to him. Definitely would recommend.

Absolutely Shocking, they ask you for personal Details to decide wether your good enough to view one of their properties and then they tell you the viewings are fully booked. How come there are many agents that don’t ask this information before a viewing?

Michelle Chapman was by far the best letting agent. She was very busy but still went out of her way for me. Making sure that I got an amazing property at an amazing place, she went above and beyond anything I could have expected. I would gladly do business with Michelle anytime and she would be my first choice every time
