A reoccurring oil leak and a few bad experiences later with another dealership I finally decided to take my vehicle to BMW Stephen James Enfield where I met a gentleman called Tennyson.
Tennyson went far and beyond my expectations and anything that I had experienced in the past. He found the source of my issue and also other issues that where never picked up a week prior at the other dealership. He kept in touch with me and explained all the issues to me and how they would resolve them. After a week my car was issue free and I have never looked back.
The difference in my experience with Stephen James especially dealing with Tennyson was that I was not just a customer, I was kept informed about all that was going on with my vehicle and was given a professional but personal feeling experience. Sometimes that is all you need to feel comfortable when your pride and joy goes in for repairs.
Now I have pushed all my family and friends to take there BMW’s to Stephen James for any service or warranty work that might be required knowing that they will be looked after.
Tennyson is a great asset to Stephen James and if your worried in anyway just visit Tennyson and let the rest be history.

My experience with Stephen James Enfield was very good, and in particular Bee Patel from the Motability department. From the moment I expressed interest up until I placed an order, she was thoroughly professional and always on hand to provide support. She was always available when I had further enquiries and replied to emails promptly, no matter what was asked. Her customer service is what convinced me to opt for BMW when I was assessing my options. First time visiting this dealership and it was an excellent and smooth experience . I had to bring my vehicle in for a gearbox related issue.
As soon as I got to the service department, there was sufficient parking. As I walked in I was greeted by a member of staff who then referred me to someone called Mr Tennyson Henry. He was very welcoming and took the time to listen to what I was saying. In my view he went the extra mile for me by keeping me updated with regards to my vehicle repair, whilst also giving me general advice about the maintenance of my vehicle. He had very in depth knowledge of the vehicle and certainly knows his product
I have visited other BMW garages where they simply do not look interested in what you are saying and just take the keys.
He also ensured the vehicle was immaculately clean (inside and outside) before I left.
I must say due to the service Mr Henry gave me I will bring all 3 of my BMWs here for any work and servicing. My family members have since starting coming here too, as just like me they want a high standard of service, which this dealership offers.
Generally the service garage was well staffed. It was very COVID safe in terms of hand gel everywhere and they also had a box with face masks for customer use.
I cannot fault anything there and it's a massive 5 stars for me... Read more

Took my battered 15 year old 5 series here after a recall letter. Although I didn't have to pay anything I still got a vehicle check and clean alloys on its return. I’ve been a customer of Stephen James Enfield for 8 years (3 cars) and they provide the best customer service of any car dealership / service garage I’ve ever had (and I’ve owned various other brands of car previously). The service team are absolutely top-notch - my car service was done in 90 minutes whilst I waited and that in included the car being washed. Receptionist is amazing, all that staff are very nice, they bent over backwards to fit me in as an emergency repair. Matt took care of me as a disabled driver, he arranged a taxi to take me home as he didn't want me to drive my car. Took my car to Stephen James to have my alloys refurbished. When I received the car back the steering wheel was shaking and I contacted the garage and took my car back in for investigation. They told me that all my alloys and tyres are buckling and need replacing quoting me thousands of pounds. I then took my car for a second opinion to a professional tyre place and they told me all my wheels have not been balanced, they then balanced the wheels and the problem stopped they solved the problem with just a few pounds. Stephen James alloy team did not balance the wheels after they put them back on the car which is something they must do and on top of that wanted thousands of pounds to fix the problem they created. Visited there recently, they couldn't help me with my issue but they accommodated me. My advice is to stick to main dealer for big jobs. They know their cars. stay away from back alley mechanics. Will probably pick up my wife's car from them in a year. I have always been told to stay away from main dealerships but after my most recent visit, i now believe it depends on the dealership. I’ve got to say the whole experience was fantastic. The process for getting people in to the centre and sanitising worked well, with a minimum wait too. I had a minor issue with a valve cap which Dean (the advisor) said could be sorted without problem. The “see it now” video, documents and everything else were handled seamlessly.
I’ll happily travel the 60 miles to get it serviced via Stephen James than go to a local dealer. After dealing with many dealerships over the years; I can happily say that the experience at Stephen James from buying to aftersales has been the easiest, smoothest and contained the highest level of communication.... My experience with Stephen James BMW Enfield was the worst I’ve had from any company. They messed up my cars body with inferior job quality, causing holograms from polishing. When I took it back, the body shop manager rudely blamed me and said this is not the job that BMW would ever do. Also, the dent that they supposedly “fixed” on the bumper reappeared after a few months and he said that another car must have hit it.
The guy was just making up excuses to make himself look superior in front of his subordinate. I was very close to losing my temper but glad I didn’t. He came up with a load of scripted answers and accusations against me instead of looking into the matter and working towards a solution.
If this is the attitude of the person managing the body shop, I don’t expect any quality from the job they do.
I paid them £2000 on top of what my insurance paid them for the extras but ended up being conned and ripped off.
They are your best friends until they sell you the car, but a bunch of cowboys when it comes to repairing.
Never would I buy any car from BMW again! I’m sickened by their constant arrogance and lack of professionalism.
My advice: Don’t assume you would get a professional service and quality repairs from this place just because it says BMW on their logo. You would end up wasting your hard earned money.... Read more

We have been buying Mini & BMW cars from SJ Enfield since 2009. However, in the last 2 years their work and service have been terrible and their standard has dropped dramatically. My most recent visit: The seat cover was left in my vehicle after use, a part was not put back properly, my radio was left on a pirate radio, they did not take the issues seriously and they did not do anything about my complaint. Level of professionalism of sales staff is questionable at best and not something you would expect from a premium brand car manufacturer. The staff member in question had a younger member of staff with them during our appointment shadowing the sales staff member and "learning" how to conduct a viewing and sale. Behaviour included singing along to radio while negotiating car package and pricing at the sales desk and then indulging in unprofessional conversation - namely the drunken night out they had before our booked appointment. Walked away finally, as sales staff member eventually ignored our original specifications and was led away from our customer requirements further by the finance department trying to push for a sale of what they were interested in rather than us. Shame on you.

At best, the people here are incompetent. At worst, they represent a company-wide culture of deceit and sharp practice. I bought a 'BMW Approved' used car from this firm. The salesman told lies about previous ownership. The technicians swore that the car had been checked in the face of significant evidence that it hadn't. The service representative had extensively rehearsed his lines about how they were unable to help. The senior management refused to engage, despite being exhorted to do so by BMW Head Office. Buying an approved used vehicle is supposed to bring some peace of mind, but buying from this firm has been a costly, time-consuming and stressful experience. After 15 years of BMW ownership (4 cars, 2 bikes from various other BMW main dealers) I know that it isn't always like this (another dealership has painstakingly assessed the car and corrected the faults), but these people just compound the belief that BMW offer great cars through some appalling dealerships. If you have read this far, and still want to buy your next used car from Stephen James, you should get a good lawyer to act on your behalf. Overall I had a good experience when buying a used vehicle from this dealership. The sales rep Phillip was such a nice gent and there was no pressure to buy. I will review further on other aspects of their service in due course when the car goes in for routine servicing etc. I have only given them 4 stars as I telephoned them on a Sunday morning when they should have been open to speak to somebody to seal a deal and there was no reply, not even an answering machine, so I was forced to go to the showroom instead.... My car was brought here by an accident management company for repairs after a Road Traffic Collision. I received nothing but absolute disgusting customer service. BMW called to say my car was ready to collect and all work had been carried out and tested. Instead, I was given my car back with an awful knocking noise from the front passenger side wheel/suspension. Returned next working day with my car that clearly is not road worthy and dangerous to drive. Ahmed, an estimator for BMW blamed the problem on wear and tear, completely against a BMW engineer who was present and stated that this was highly possible from the impact of the RTA. Clearly my car was not test driven properly. I took a day off work to sort this issue out. I waited over 3 hours and had to leave as my mother who is terminally ill had an hospital appointment for which I needed to be present. I ended up driving my car home as I had no other means of transport and the courtesy car was taken back as they saw the job apparently completed. Customer Service at this dealership is absolutely appalling, I will not be coming back here again and suggest others to be mindful. Ahmed definitely needs to be retrained on how to deal with customers and taught how to take on responsibility instead of trying to go against an engineer, purely on the basis that BMW did not want to take the blame for them not completing the job properly given by insurance company.... I would rate them 0 stars if Google allowed it. Avoid buying a car from them there customer service is truly awful. They blame clear issues with the vehicle on “characteristics” despite there own engineer finding a fault and having special clamps made to attempt to resolve the situation.

Updating my previous review. I only ever gave a good review for the servicing department. After my latest experience buying a new car, I would recommend that you avoid this place for sales at ALL COSTS. Even customer services/aftercare is shocking. I have been a customer of theirs for the past 8/9 years and have never had any issues with the servicing as I deal with one person each time - Danny Mansfield. He is great. Other than Danny, the rest of them are just a let down. From sales, to insurance claims/repairs and to the ones responsible for fitting/installing stuff in the car, they have given me nothing but headache over the last 10 months. I have been back 3 times over a bloody dash cam. Sales sold me the wrong camera therefore the wrong one was fitted. They fitted it over AIRBAG and did not replace the trim properly which resulted in rattles inside the cabin. I bought the car in March 2018. It is now January 2019!!!!! AVOID.... Read more

Worst customer service and useless mechanics, put me off BMW for life! Avoid this place like the plague.
My BMW 318i e90 went in with starting issues. I was told by Lauren the total cost for diagnosing the problem would be £107. I gave her the go ahead informing her that there was intermittent power going from the fuse box to the fuel pump.
Next day I phoned in the morning asking for an update but no one was available to answer so I left a message requesting a call back. Got no call back. Next day called in the morning again, no call back. Called in the afternoon, no call back. Called in the evening was told everyone was gone for the day.
Finally on the third day (still no call back) after a couple of failed attempts managed to speak to Lauren. She informed me that there was intermittent power going from the fuse box to the fuel pump. I said "I know, that's what I told you when I gave the car." She said they needed to investigate further and check if the dme or ecu were at fault and it would cost me £280 to diagnose. Why on earth was she asking for more money when I was told it would be £107 in total for the diagnostic. I asked how much it would cost if I took the car back without further diagnostics. She said "£107." Why would I pay £107 for them to hold my car for 3 days without any contact just to tell me what I already knew!
I asked for my car back as it was and she agreed not to charge me anything. My wife went to pick up the car and after waiting 20 minutes or so Lauren came and gave her the key. Lauren told my wife the car was just outside on the right. It wasn't. After my wife walked around the garage looking for the car Lauren eventually found out it was still on the ramp ????.
15 - 20 minutes later mechanic drove the car round and told my wife she could go. To her surprise, the back seat was open, fuel pump unscrewed and wires all showing. She asked mechanic to close it all. He said "oh yeah" and closed the seat leaving the fuel pump unscrewed. She had to make him lift the seat again, close the fuel pump and fix the seat again.

Under no circumstance use this BMW garage! Incredibly rude and incompetent staff and managers are no better. Wanted to get a quote for some body work, called and arranged a time. Went in and photos were taken and told I would get a quote by email. Waited about a month but still no quote. Went again, told the photos had been lost. Photos were retaken and assured I would get a quote. Two weeks later still no quote! Emailed BMW centrally and received a call. Initially missed the call so rang back and was told no one was available but message taken and promised someone would call me back. Waited 24 hours but no one rang back so then I rang them. Spoke to a manager who said yes we lost the photos twice and promises were made and broken but these things happen. If you want good BMW service, consider going elsewhere! I went with my sister to replace her new Mercedes convertible that had been stolen off her drive. She was looking to buy the 4 series equivalent because of the hard top.
After walking around the showroom for ages, no one asked whether she needed further assistance. Fortunately She had a better experience with Audi and is now the owner of a brand new A5 convertible. BMW’s Poor customer service was Audi’s gain to the tune of nearly £40,000.... Read more

Website booking for a Service is a little flaky - you don't know the booking time until you've actually completed the booking. Would be better to allow a choice up front. I booked a Courtesy Lift which I assumed was a lift to my (nearby) home, but it's just a lift to the nearest bus stop or train station. Would have been good to explain this up front. Service Centre Receptionist isn't the most approachable and friendly. Facilities at the Service Centre are great though.... Read more

Wish we never made the decision to use Stephen James BMW Enfield to repair our car and experience the ongoing nightmare of having to deal with these con merchants.
They will use every tactic and vocabulary in the book to fob you off no matter what and promised words will change every time from all on the Stephen James hierarchy including management
Poorly trained bodyshop staff with ignorant and discourteous management who will do anything to get your money and then turn their back on you to cover for their own mistakes.
They are a shame to the motoring trade and it probably wont be long before they are exposed on Watchdog!... Read more

What a shambles BMW big German brand, got a bunch of halfwits and con men working for them my car was in for repairs didn’t provide a cover car then said I could get a loan car when I called back said two cars came in and were taken out by other customers. How can you not have a system in place to deal with this sort of thing big German brand can’t even treat their customers right they’ll do anything and everything to not provide you a proper service. Doesn’t look like I’ll be buying Bmw again, Audi’s service is 10 times better and they actually care for their customers. I will be contacting head office and pursuing this further.... Read more

I had an issue with my car, I was told I would have to book it in but after I brought the parts from the parts department I was told to go next door to the service department to book my car in. The receptionist was very helpful and asked a technician if the job could be done right away as it was so small. To my delight a lovely technician called Tom was able to help and was very professional. I would defiantly recommend this garage!

Terrible service from smart repair and the device department I had my car booked in 2 weeks prior to my appointment only.to be told on the morning by phone that the courtesy car wasn't back no problem, but they said they would get back to me with a answer as to how they can rectify this but I had to call and call and call every time nobody is at the desk. To the point I went down there only to fine that 3 people are sitting at the desk just can't be bothered to return the call . All of a sudden there is a courtesy for me what a waste of time. I ask them to fix the washer jets on the car whilst it's in oh that's £80 to sort that hold on that's not my fault they don't work I've had a few Bmw now this hasn't happened to them just this car all I done was put clean water in them What a joke all.my cars have been purchased here well never again... My 2017 X5 developed a sunroof fault. I took it to Stephen James who were prepared to fix the problem under warranty. They were kind enough to provide me with a courtesy car, although a mini was not really fit for the purpose, given I have two large dogs who need daily walks off lead. I had booked to go away over the May bank holiday and needed the car to tow my caravan. Despite assurances that my car would be ready by close of business on the Friday, it was not. They assured me they were working on the vehicle since the Monday. Stephen James offered no assistance whatsoever and tried to pass the blame onto BMW Group (who of course blamed Stephen James). I was left with the impossible task of trying to find a rental company that could supply a car with a tow bar at short notice and had to cancel our family break. Not the sort of service you would expect from a company like BMW or a franchise whose mission statement includes "will never knowingly mislead". One star is generous. EDIT - Stephen James promised the car would be ready by the end of today (Tuesday), nobody has bothered to call me despite Tim Kwan's response below... Tim Kwan - Although I may not be the only one whose bank holiday weekend your franchise completely ruined, I am certain I am the only X5 owner with a faulty sunroof currently in your workshop, you could go the extra mile and call me rather than post standard "response from owner messages".... So went to BMW Enfield to buy a used car. The car on the website was priced at £19250.00, once I arrived at the site the price had miraculously jumped to £19500.00.
So imagine when you see a car on there website for 2 months there is a reason for the car being there for that period of time, its either the car or the sales staff. So test drove the car and it was fine so its not the car!
I would have been happy to take the car off their hands for £19000.00 but they wouldn't even do a deal with me for that price plus a £5000.00 deposite....... Are you actually kidding, anyone selling any kind of product when your dealing with those sums of cash £250.00 off the asking price plus a huge deposit with no deal secured.
That is shocking, I hope a senior member of that group read this, because that deal should have gone through. Oh and guess what the car is still there in Enfield, great sales team!... Read more

I went into BMW Stephen James Enfield a few weeks ago having booked an appointment to meet with one of the Used car Sales reps; Rio. I was previously with Honda and my contract with them was coming to an end but they were not offering a very good deal compared to what I had already and I felt very stuck.
Rio was extremely helpful, honest and realistic. He showed me around some of the different cars to find out what I preferred, then found quite a few of there cars within my budget and took me out on a test drive.
He took time and explained all my options especially as I still had my old car with Honda, so he went through everything I could do to get out of that car and into a BMW.
I went away as I needed time to make a decision and then went back to Rio who was able to get me into my dream car; a 4 series coupe even with all my fussy requirements as to colour & technology having been spoilt in my last car. This is my first BMW and automatic car so it takes some getting use to but Rio made it easier with a very helpful video he sent me before picking up the car which I can still always look back on.
I have had my car a few days now and I am loving it. I would highly recommend going to BMW Stephen James as I had a very good experience there. All of the sales team were very friendly I had chats with quite a few of them and they all made me feel excited about my purchase so I will definitely go back when it’s time to upgrade ????...
