We have been renting with back and gold for a year and it was a nightmare we have mould in all the rooms which at the viewing they told me it would get done which I didn’t and then we were told it’s a old house so we are going to get cracks and mould everywhere. I made several complaints and all the time nothing was done, until we had previous tent telling us they had the same issues with the land lord and the estate agent . I feel like they didn’t care and the worse thing was when we got racially remarks from the estate agent . I have 3 kids and now they suffer from asthma and back cough .
We are now in the process of taking it further. It’s a shame renting is hard and to get got landlord and estate agents who are not willing to help it’s even hard everyone is in it for the money.

The process of selling with Black and Golds on the whole was completed well. The process took longer because of buyer changes and a completion date extended because of a legal issue we were not made aware of. The help and contact we had from Suzi was exceptional apart from the point mentioned. The communication from solicitors could have been a lot better and dealt with better.

so having to choose an estate agent to starts the whole ball rolling , and having decided to go with Black &Gold , we have realised that they are the company who take the stress away from you , soak it up themselves and let you deal with other house moving issues.

Husband and I purchased a property through Black and Golds. From start to finish, we had excellent communication and support from staff members such as Olly and Suzi. All queries was always promptly answered and they would always chase up the sellers solicitors when needed. This allowed us to complete on our dream properly very quickly. Our offer was accepted on 1st September and we got keys on 7th December. Would highly recommend. Where do I start........from Day 1 Mike and Jon were extremely helpful in guiding us through the process. Jon has a calming affect and made us feel at ease from the outset. He was great with prospective Buyers and certainly knows how to sell a property! Nothing was too much trouble and he actually sold our house whilst we were out of the country. I cannot praise Laura highly enough for her persistence and patience with the solicitors and the buyers to get the sale completed. Laura was in regular contact with us throughout the process, and was always happy to discuss things by phone if necessary. Everyone I spoke to at Black and Golds was friendly and helpful.

Mike and all of his colleagues are professional, approachable and friendly. Between them they operate a “proper” estate agents that don’t charge extortionate prices like some do.

Then we bought a house through Black and Gold who really have the buyers interest as top priority. Quick to respond, quick to get updates from long chains (ours was from London to west midlands to all the way in Ireland). Really ON IT!

Although the process took around a year from initial valuation to completion, the team were always friendly and helpful, and were working hard behind the scenes to help progress everything. This estate agent has no morals and does not know were to draw the line. 160 edenbridge road in hall green is a waste of time, the property was agreeded to be brought at 240k, the agents then called me after I had paid for all the checks and got all my finances in place to say 'seller wants a extra 10k or she cannot sell' morgage company couldnt give me anymore so had to borrow of family and friends, next after afew days later got another call saying seller wants another 5k, keep in mind I'm stuck in a position because I have paid all my prepurchase fees. In the end I agreed to another 5k and some time later after wasting my money and time even though I agreed to 15k+ the price agreeded they pulled the house off the market and said she didn't want to sell. Afew days later it is back on the market for 25k above previously advertised price. This place is a joke and do not care for its customers, they are not fair stay away.

Brilliant service from B & G and in particular from Emma and Karis. Decided to go with the part managed option with rent collection. They found a Hong Kong Chinese family who relocated to the Uk.
As references were unavailable the tenant paid 12 months upfront and £150 per month over the advertised rent.
I fully expected to pay B & G’s monthly rent collection fee for 12 months in one payment but B & G waived this fee and charged only their basic finders fee. Brilliant!
The tenants are an absolutely fabulous family and take very good care of the property and are a pleasure to deal with. If only all my tenants were like them I’d be a very happy bunny.
I will definitely use Black & Golds Lettings again in another property which will soon be available for rent.

Appalling service offered by this company when trying to view a property. It firstly takes 15 calls to get through to someone and when you leave your details... no gets back to the you.
I finally managed to arrange a viewing at 2:30pm, I let the company know I'm stuck in traffic and will be 15 minutes late. The chap advised he is not sure they can wait but will call me back... as expected he did not call me back! I cannot control the traffic but basic customer service would not go a miss. I can understand not waiting 15 minutes but not calling someone who is on route is simply bad customer service.
Then refusing to take my calls is quite simply a disgrace. Not the greatest experience, I hope landlords take note... they will NOT go the extra mile for you.

I see this company have no worries in advertising the recently to be constructed and completed retirement flats in Shirley called Solihull Village where usually with this type of property, values fall massively, punitively and immediately after taking ownership and any buyers being exposed to upto £600 per month service charges. Many retirement flats suffer with hidden charges such as 1% of the sale price to be paid upon re-sale for each year of ownership.

After flirting with the idea of selling our home, we began to look at houses we liked the look of. The usual well known names on the High St popped up and were poor to deal with even to just view a house. This helped us decide we would like to use a smaller firm as they would hopefully offer a better service. Mike came to our house, valued it and also explained tricks buyers might use for us to be aware of. Within a couple of weeks the house was on RightMove with 11 viewings booked for that weekend. Mike himself did the viewings and left a brief description of each buyer and likeliness of any offers. To our surprise, we received five offers from the viewings and went to best and final. From then on, we generally dealt with Michelle and Zoe who liased with our sellers EA etc. They kept us informed throughout the process, always responded within the timeframe stated when we raised any queries and always were very friendly and approachable. Thankfully, we were in a small chain of three buyers so everything progressed fairly quickly. When an issue did arise (gazunder), luckily Michelle was on hand to put the buyer in his place and put it in no uncertain terms not to start messing around. We then exchanged and completed the week before Christmas as planned.
I really believe Black & Golds are a brilliantly ran company, after dealing with some of the larger high street names the service received between the different companies were at different ends of the spectrum. Also, I think the chain would have fallen through with another company as their advice would more than likely have been accept the low ball offer to avoid losing out on commission. Black & Golds assured us they would back us either way even if we wanted to pull the house off the market for a period of time or for good.
If you are looking to sell your home, I would highly recommend contacting Mike and the team. Their prices are competitive and the level of service is excellent.

I have rented a house for 1.5 years with B&G. I have been extremely happy with their services from when I moved until I vacated the property. It has been the most pleasant renting experience I had in my life. If you require honest, high quality service, B&G are the way to go forward.

I used Black and Gold Estate Agents recently to sell my property.
From start to finish Mike and his team were very professional. Initially Mike turned up on time for our initial consultation, in todays world that in itself is impressive, someone who turns up when they say they are going to!!
He then conducted a block booking event, 5 days after the house went on the market and within an hour, I had had an offer over the asking price.
His team continued to manage the sale, liaising with both myself, the buyer and solicitors and exchange took pace 5 weeks later. Would highly recommend Mike and his team for both their efficiency and affordability.

Very disappointing - asked for a viewing of a property the day it went on the market. We would have viewed within 48 hours but were given a date over a week away. Half way through the week I contacted them to check all was 'on track' as we were very hopeful about the property, only to be told that its now sold and our viewing is cancelled! We would have viewed right away given the opportunity!!

This is my first review and I would be happy if it helps you to make your decision.
If you think of choosing the Estate Agent to sell your house, look no further. We purchased the house last year marketed by Golds and Blacks and the chain was the worst you can imagine (in my experience). Unexpected delays and luck of solicitors' communication delayed the process and almost made everyone scream.
It took us almost a year to find the right house and we had a lot of interaction with another estate agents in the area.I can honestly say, that Black and Golds were the most professional of of them all.
They are friendly, supportive people who are interested in your situation. They kept the chain solid and tried to speed up the process by doing things that other estate agents wouldn't be bothered about. Special thanks to Mike who made things to move quicker and was very supportive from the early start till the very end.
If you want to sell or buy a house, feel safe choosing this Estate Agent.

Recently bought a house off black and golds, even though the sellers were really hard work and very testing it was reassuring to know that the team at black and golds had our best interests at heart.
I would definitely contact black and golds if i was selling as i have experienced quite a few estate agents and none have come close to the quality and professionalism they have shown.

I was delighted with the service from all at the office. it was great to be able to use the services of the firm of solicitors linked to Black and Golds it made the sale much more simple. We had chosen this company because they were local to the house this was a great advantage regarding viewings, Mike gave great advice on how to present the house and the asking price and the cost of selling was lower than others in the area. I would not hesitate to recommend this firm.
