In 2017, I was charged fees without a tenancy, and ended up taking them to court for breach of contract - action which I won without having to actually say anything, and I got my money back. Although they didn't attend court, the staff and the owner were fairly sore losers about this, I think because their grift had been discovered. I don't know if anything came of reporting them to trading standards, but in any case, legislation was passed in 2019 making those practices illegal, although I'm sure they will find some way to continue to make money they shouldn't. If you feel like someone's grifting you, chances are they are, and you should take the small amount of time to stand up to them.... Read more

I've rented a house managed by Urban Residential and they were friendly and responsive to any problems I had. So when I bought a house and had to move for work I chose them to manage it for me. They helped me get the place up to spec, managed to find me some tenants just before the Covid 19 lockdown and have been helpful, friendly and responsive the whole time!
