Very professional, friendly service. This is the second time we have sold a home through W Welch. We felt we had such good service the first time that we were happy to use them again and didn't even bother getting any other valuations. We particularly like that it's a local family run business. You have a dedicated member of staff as a point of contact so you dont have to keep dealing with different people and they have make sure they have extensive knowledge of your property. Our recent experience of selling and buying has been the most complex and stressful ever...and this is our eighth and last move!!! We had our offer which we accepted last August and only completed on June 25th. This was due to collapsed chains and appallingly bad behaviour from property investors. Throughout all of this Wes Welch kept us calm and worked so hard at keeping it all together; constantly contacting all parties involved, putting me on speakerphone so I could hear for myself what he was having to deal with. We asked several agents to come and meet us to sell both our houses. We liked Wes from the off and though we'd heard all the patter we had a sense that Wes was straight up and we trusted him. He asked what I wanted from him and I said I wanted absolute honesty and no spin and this is exactly what I got. Direct answers to direct questions. I liked the no BS approach personally. I found Wes very responsive and he never failed to get back to me when he said he would. He was good value for money and he kept everything running as we asked - selling 2 houses and buying one is not a stress-free experience - especially in a pandemic! - and while one sold quickly, the other took longer but Wes was able to keep everything going. Avoid at all costs. I have just bought a house through Wesley Welch and from the first viewing to completion they were a disaster. Let's start with the initial viewing of the property. My husband and I turned up at the address and waited, and waited... after 20 minutes we phoned the office and told them we had a viewing but nobody had shown up. Wesley huffed and puffed very sulkily (offering no apology) and sent someone out. 30 minutes later they arrived and showed us the property. I got really bad vibes from the Estate Agents but loved the house, so we made an offer. Then followed months of nobody answering the phone, no contact from anyone, and if we ever did manage to get through we were met with a very grumpy attitude and they never seemed to know who we were. Any information we did receive from them was information already given to us by the solicitors and usually about a week later than they knew, all delivered by Wesley in a very unfriendly manner. He lied to us several times during the process, and both our solicitors and mortgage advisors were shocked by the service. They seemed to have no idea what was going on from start to finish, and the day of competition was the icing in the cake. We were told to go to the 'office' to collect the keys. It's not an office, it's his house so it's very hard to find. A woman answered the door and told me to go round the back of the property, I went down a driveway that was covered in dog feces and was met by Welsley in a tracksuit which seemed slightly unprofessional for completing of a property but oh well I was happy it was nearly over. I was told by Wesley as he grinned that he couldn't give me the key until we had completed, I said can you ring the solicitor as we have been told to collect the keys. He was unprofessional, aggressive and had the demeanor of someone selling fruit and veg not properties. He refused to ring our solicitor, then I did. The solicitor confirmed Wesley had an email to say that we had completed. By this point I wanted to be out of his house as I felt angry and uncomfortable and he was acting as if I had turned up out the blue. A few minutes later Wesley appears with the key, and an extremely backhanded apology that did not contain the word sorry. I am thankful I never have to deal with them again. The only saving grace was Craig who was friendly and spent a lot of time making up for Wesleys shortcomings.... Read more

I was buying a house on a very tight time line through Wes Welch estate agents. The conveyancing solicitor and mortgage broker were skeptical due to the slim margin for error but Wes totally bought in to it and was brilliant. He pre-empted any issues or potential delays and was on the phone, getting hold of the conveyancing solicitor or sellers on my behalf and dealing with issues before they arose. He was excellent, and thanks to him, I was in my house on time, and in an incredible 7 weeks from first viewing the house, to completion. I highly recommend using him.... Read more

As a prospective tenant trying to rent a property I would steer clear. After repeated requests for their total fees they finally told us it would be £75 per person (this was at a discounted rate for the month, dropped by £200) and a holding fee of £350. Was then told the holding fee was their admin costs. As far as I am aware a holding fee is to hold the property until the referencing etc goes through. Total it all up and you looking at £700 just to rent a house. Various other issues made the whole process a nightmare from start to finish.... Read more

We had some issues with our previous letting agent finding a new tenant after 5 years of great service and thought it was time to move on after our property was vacant for a month. We started looking for a new agent and that’s when we met Wes and David from Welsh, these chaps were amazing from day one, they literally turned up at the house, had a look around and said we have no idea why this property hasn’t been let. There was some minor works which needed sorting and they dealt with the lot and true to their word two weeks later a tenant moved in. Wes and David aren’t the only ones at Welsh, the entire team have been fantastic and really looked after us. If you’re looking for a fantastic agent who cares and can deliver a personal touch then Welsh is definitely worth approaching to see what they can do for you. I agreed on a tenant finder deal as a landlord seeking long term tenants for my four bed house with Sam Collins. Instead he put very short term tenants in there who are actively and openly honest about looking for a property to buy ASAP in the area and to top it off Welch haven’t paid me the first month’s rent yet, which is needed for us to live on as a family. We are on day 5 now since the tenants moved in and we are still waiting. I wish I had stuck to my guns and rented privately. In my ten years of being a landlord and renting privately I’ve never had a problem, a delay or unpaid rent. Lesson learned and will stay FAR away from W Welch Estate agent in future- what a shame :(... Read more

Never pick up the phone and when you leave message, they never call back. Tried selling a flat through them. Dominique was our contact. Very young and smiley but can not deliver. No substance to them. Give it the sales pitch but do not compare to Michael Jones. Who sold our flat for the asking price and in 6 weeks and kept us informed all the way through. Only agency I have come across who "sign" you up for 6 months. Apparently phone calls are recorded and Wesley isn't in the office when you call. But if you pop in after 5 minutes he is sitting in the back of the office. Come across as having no compassion, empathy or as nice as they make out but I might have misjudged them. They messed him around for 2 months saying the flat wasn't ready and 2 weeks before Christmas told him his application was declined and there would be no refund. From a prospective purchaser's view I consider that the staff I recently dealt with repeatedly did not return phone calls or have much knowledge about the particular property I was trying to purchase. If I was a vendor I would not want them representing me! There are many other Estate Agents in Worthing to choose from that are professional, experienced and courteous, which clearly W Welch are not. Also if you check back on the reviews one of them was written by Domenica the office manager. Its a bit sad when they have to write their own reviews!... Read more

If you want the best example of a bad stereotypical estate agent, this is the company. Shiny suits, no knowledge of the housing market and even have the big BMW. If they were not estate agents, a career as second hand car salesman's would beckon. There are much better agents in the Worthing area in my personal opinion, and these I would avoid.... Read more

We had a brilliant experience with W Welch Estate Agents. From the outset we found the team, especially our agent Domenica and Wes himself to be professional and caring. They kept us updated throughout what was quite a tricky sale and purchase. The photographs they arranged of the house we sold were excellent and attracted many viewings. We received several offers very quickly and when our selected buyer later pulled out (for reasons outside Welch's control), they were straight on the case and resold it within days. What really set them apart in our eyes was having been disappointed to lose out on purchasing an ideal house, Wes personally found us another house on the same road and secured our purchase of it the next day!
