Agency uses heavily edited photos as evidence - Photos had filter on them.
I got charged £500 cleaning fee after I cleaned the flat and had carpet professionally cleaned.
I think it’s just sad how this agency is operating and anyone who works there should be ashamed of themselves.
I wish I could put photos that been used as “evidence” of a messy flat.
Just disgusting practice.
For any future tenants: take as many pictures when you move in and when you move out because they will try to take as much money from you.

We recently had an issue with the pipe under the kitchen sink, I sent a mail to Amy of Northwood, almost immediately she contacted water works, they came around & fix the issue in no time.
Amy always respond to our call on any maintenance issues.
I am recommending Northwood to anyone who needs a decent accommodation.
They are responsive & good people.

Oftentimes the worst part about renting is dealing with the lettings agency but I can say I’ve had a great experience!

Rating a 1 star as this is the lowest I can rate, but would rate 0 if I could.
'Moved in today' - but moved straight out. The place was infested with cockroaches, mould, holes in the wall, unsafe electrical outlets and overall no 'deep clean' which was said they had done. It was unlivable and not in the same condition when I had viewed it. They were so unhelpful and actually when speaking to one of the staff members on the phone about this issue, she hung up on me because she was so annoyed. They tried to cover their backs and said someone had been in this morning at 9am to do the checks when infact they then changed their story to Friday which was the last check, and as I was reading through reviews, they've obviously lied and done this before.
Absolutely outrageous customer service. I've never been spoken to so rudely in my whole life, especially by estate agents when they're there to 'help' you, especially when the issue isn't your fault. I also had no apology at all throughout today, and when I went back into deliver the keys, they were happy considering what had just happened.
Considering it was supposed to be an exciting day, they turned it into an extremely unpleasant one.
DO NOT GO THROUGH NORTHWOOD.

Avoid at all costs! I’ve had the unfortunate pleasure of having to deal with this joke of a company for the last 2 years as a tenant, nobody in the office passes messages on to colleagues so absolutely everything is lost or just completely wrong. They like to give the impression that they’re competent when you’re signing up for a tenancy but the aftercare is an absolute disgrace and can only be described as utter incompetence. I’ve just spoken to Gemma Armstrong who is the director, and all I’ve received is sarcasm and no help whatsoever in terms of trying to get my deposit back. I wouldn’t recommend this lot to anybody.

My wife and I decided to opt with Northwood for their guaranteed Rent service. We have been renting out property ourselves using other agents for about 15 years. Basically for the same Nett amount that we would have got, allowing for the usual costs with an Agent plus the other 'costs' that come along with those arrangements, we got a First Class Service, rent paid on time every time with a very happy tenant to boot!!! The service these guys give is awesome. We've been with them for two years and not an ounce of trouble...very professional. So if you are renting out property or considering it then use Northwood and get rid of the hassle and focus on the value.....very highly recommended.

1 star is too many! NO STAR REVIEW! Terrible letting agent. Paid 6 months up front every 6 months, kept the property clean, tidy and well presented. Moved out and had a professional clean carried out only to be charged for another clean by the cleaning company they use (must be desperate for their commission) and charged for things that were wrong before I rented the property! Before I got to discuss this with anyone the clean had been done and money taken off deposit. Told I can complain but will take up to 7 months to then get the rest of my deposit back. They are money robbing thief’s and would not recommend. Very unprofessional and rude, there are much better agents you should use

Dishonest. Upon leaving the rental they told me that the landlord's colleague was coming by to inspect, turns out it was a client viewing the property via a rival agency. I called them on this and they lied through their teeth to cover themselves. Clearly they were trying to torpedo their rivals. Now they're dragging their feet on returning my deposit. Would not recommend.

Jack who does the inspections is so helpful and Darcie is always so lovely to chat to. Matt in accounts has been so helpful sorting out arrears with out Tenant that started during covid. We would have been lost without his support.

Worse than terrible. Lazy and incompetent would be aspirational for them. Easily the worse Letting Agents/Management Company I've ever come across in my 5 years in Property Management. They make everything harder than it needs to be and we have caught them in several lies. Judging by the other reviews, lots of landlords and tenants clearly feel the same. Hopefully, they won't be in business much longer. Awful.

Do NOT use this agent!!!!! They are unprofessional and rude, being a tenant of theirs myself for over three years was WAY to long in my opinion. I am glad that I'm finally not involved with them anymore. Landlords if you want a professional and trustworthy letting agent, Northwood are not for you. The communication between tenant and agent was pretty much non existent.

He has phoned every week for a couple of months just to check on us and see how we were doing even though he had not got anything for us. When we found a property to rent he was really pleased. I was with Russell Ponnsford Dealing with Sean for years, I had a tenant leave just before the lock down, I decided to go to a different Estate Agent to get a tenant. It all went terribly wrong, I could of been without a Tenant for months and lost thousands. I rang Sean, and he was straight on the phone and secured me a great tenant within a week. I cannot speak highly enough of him and the team and what he did for me under extreme circumstances, I would not go anywhere else

We rented a property through Northwood Estate Agents and have recently vacated. I am of the understanding that Northwood has recently been taken over by new management, and from reading the previous reviews it seems the whole company has changed as well as their ethos, as our opinions could not be more different.
I only have good things to say about this company, especially our dealings with Sean and Connor.
Both were professional but also extremely understanding, we had a new born baby and the house was up for let during COVID 19 which of course was a worrying time, however these guys were flexible and the communication was spot on, we were always kept in the loop about viewings.
Vacating the property was easy, and the check out inspection a breeze...they have surpassed my expectations of letting agents who have notoriously in the past ripped me off.
Don’t let the previous reviews of the previous management put you off.

Do NOT lease a property from Northwood! They were incredibly rude on the phone when I called up to complain that they hadn't cleaned the property prior to my moving in. As it was written in to the contract that they would do a professional clean it means that they had cut corners when preparing the property. This is at the expense of the tenant and probably also the landlord. I have never been spoken to so rudely by someone who is supposed to be providing a services. Stay well clear of them!!

Do not use this letting agent. For landlords, they will find you the most unsuitable tenants and make your life a misery along with neighbours complaining.
When they find problem tenants, they will refuse to enforce any action and will allow the tenants to:
Smoke drugs
Loud music til 4am
Antisocial behaviour
Loud noises/banging
Volume of tv shows loud in evenings
Arguments in the street & on telephone
Dogs continue to bark nonstop
Baby crying all day/night
Break the communal door
STAY CLEAR OF NORTHWOOD

Very disappointing service, promised the earth, took days to get a response, do not speak to James with regards to renting a property as he clearly cannot deliver what he says, offered up 6 months rent in advance and apparently the landlord still said no! Find this very unlikely!! James promised our holding fee back the same day it finally took 3 days after being ignored by him and going directly to their accounts department.

Rented my flat (which had been completely done up and had a new kitchen a bathroom) When it came to taking it back the flooring had been completely destroyed with water damage which they tried passing as “wear and tear” the kitchen and oven we’re filthy and hadn't been cleaned and the bathroom was filthy as well.
They asked if the Tennant could paint the walls which I agreed as long as they were painted back however this did not happen and they refused to get the tenant to paint back or compensate me
When I tried to complain they weren’t interested and said it had been checked over by one of their managers and they were happy to hand it back at that standard.
After multiple attempts to get them to come and have a look they weren’t interested at all.
Do not rent through them it’s more hassle then it’s worth and cost me a lot of money!!

Awful! Rented our property through these and the place was handed back with cooked food in the oven, and a dirty bathroom... but most disappointingly was damaged flooring and all the interior walls painted and not put back to original colour as agreed.... So had to do a lot of work before we could even move back in! And the staff wasn’t helpful and tried to come up with excuses and pass the blame.... never use this company again! Would give no stars if possible!
