We were looking for a property in Earley/lower Earley We came across many agents however for this particular property which was marketed by Whiteknights, we met their estate agent Amilcar who understood our situation and was very helpful and quick to get us not only the landlord approval and then the tenancy process started. I found Amilcar very helpful and understanding and at the same time Very professional and doing all the checks very thoroughly One particular agent in the area is asking more rent than what is marketed and is starting a price war Based on my recent experience I will recommend Whiteknights and Especially Amilcar... !! Avoid them at any cost !! They are the most unorganised, unprofessional and the rudest agency I have ever been with, they have left us without a shower for over 3 months, the lied about the property being professionally cleaned, all they care about is money! Lesley and Rob their head of lettings are the people that we have been dealing with, Rob was lying through his teeth to get us into the property, these people don’t have any respect for their tenants! And now since we left the property they are causing so many issues it’s actually an utter joke.... Read more

First-time renting professionals who are relocating from overseas, please be aware of unreasonable and unjustified ask to produce a guarantor. I’m a senior manager at a reputed organisation being transferred to the UK recently. Obviously, I don’t have a credit history in the UK and that doesn’t mean that I need a guarantor since I’m in a permanent position and my annual salary is well above 30x monthly rent. No other agent in and around Reading area had this condition for me. We were really interested in a house because of the availability of good schools and even negotiated to secure a guarantor for the first 12 months. But, Rob spoke to my guarantor in a threatening and bullying tone instead of helping the prospective customer and working with us. There is no customer focus, renting team is highly unresponsive, they almost never picked up my calls. While we asked for a guarantor deed to be reviewed with the negotiated clauses before paying the holding deposit, another offer was accepted when not even 24 hours had passed since the landlord accepted our offer the previous day. This is highly unprofessional. I won’t recommend WhiteKnights to anyone who would be first-time renters in the UK.... Read more

Whiteknights were very effective at organising viewings resulting in two good offers of at least the asking price. Once the sale had been agreed however and responsibility passed to the sales progression team there we real difficulties in reaching anyone by telephone in order to obtain a progress update. The problems were compounded by the fact that the agents had persuaded our buyer to use bucket shop conveyancers that had paid them a referral fee. These conveyancers became victims of a cyberattack and what should have been a straightforward and swift transaction was delayed by about a month and more stressful than it should have been.... JOHN BENNETT! (FABULOUS) Just wow where do I start! After a crazy 4 months with what felt like a life time of stress I feel rather saddened that I won’t be able to call John for rant and a laugh! (All the emotions of buying&selling) John is absolutely FANTASTIC!! He went above and beyond helping us get through our sale. Our buyers solicitors weren’t the best and John really delivered and kept our buyer up to date constantly and reassured her and helped her with questions/queries throughout the process. My house was sold quickly and following this John Bennett was an absolute star in getting a difficult chain with lots of issues over the line, acting not just on my behalf but having to push on behalf of my buyers who were selling privately and so had no Estate agent! I cannot praise John, Simon and the Lower Earley office highly enough in how much they helped my Mum navigate her recent house move. After a few obstacles that were thrown in our way during the process, John particularly went truly above and beyond in helping my Mum to pull everything together, even arranging help outside of his remit, and I do not know how we would have done this without him. My experience has been negative with this estate agent, I made an offer by email for a property in Earley and sought an appointment to view the property or be provided with a virtual viewing link. A female member of staff rang my partner to say that she was unable to arrange a viewing as we were not under offer with our property. I found that quite astonishing and conclude that this lady must have a secret crystal ball to allow her to predict the future. We wont be going through them again.... Read more

I had a very disappointing experience with Whiteknights Lower Earley (Simon Wilkinson) in trying to buy a property. He was very misleading. As a buyer I had to chase him everyday on my offer and would never receive a straight answer, and I kept on increasing my offer everyday and came to asking price where he said the offer is accepted. However for three days straight he made up excuses in trying to send me memo of sale while everything was complete from my end and there was something fishy going in the background. This behaviour is extremely unprofessional and I would advise everyone who is thinking to buy a property with Whiteknights to think twice about what kind of mental stress you are getting into.... I'm afraid we didn't get on with this Letting agent, we've been letting our property for 15 years, but sadly didn't receive the service we expect from Whiteknights. To the extent that we lodged two official letters of complaint with them, but their response was unhelpful. To anyone else I would suggest using a letting agent that is ARLA registered.... Read more
