My experience with Johns & Co was extremely disappointing and caused me a significant amount of unnecessary stress.
Throughout the tenancy process, I received contradictory and unclear information regarding fees, obligations, and the status of the agreement. Communication was often inconsistent, with different explanations being provided at different times. I felt under considerable pressure to make decisions based on information that later changed or was disputed.
One of the most concerning aspects was being asked to pay a substantial fee of approximately £5,200, despite there being no clear basis for this from my perspective. The way this matter was handled left me feeling distressed and uncertain about my position for a prolonged period. It took a significant amount of time and effort to challenge the matter and seek clarification.
While the company ultimately confirmed that the fee would not be pursued, this only happened after a lengthy complaints process. By that stage, considerable stress and inconvenience had already been caused.
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, I understand the impact that prolonged uncertainty and pressure can have on a person’s wellbeing. My concern is not only for my own experience but also whether other customers may face similar issues.
I would encourage Johns & Co to review their communication practices, improve transparency regarding fees and contractual obligations, and ensure that customers receive clear and consistent information from the outset.
