We had a highly disappointing experience with Stoneacre Properties regarding a property in late May. Initially, everything seemed promising as we quickly completed the referencing process and paid the holding deposit within 15 days. However, issues soon emerged.
The agency asked us to send the holding deposit immediately within 2 hours, not allowing us enough time to make an informed decision. Additionally, a promised second viewing was never arranged, despite assurances from the agency. Our tenancy agreement promised a move-in date of 1st July, but this was abruptly changed to 2nd July due to the agency’s “fully-packed schedule,” leaving us in a precarious situation as we had no place to stay after 30th June.
The situation worsened on 14th June, after we had signed the housing contract, when we were informed that the current tenants decided not to move out, leading to the cancellation of our contract. This last-minute cancellation has left us without a place to live post-30th June, causing immense stress and inconvenience.
Our main point of contact, Olivia, failed to manage our tenancy process adequately. Despite Stoneacre Properties’ good reviews, our experience was one of sheer mismanagement and broken promises. We were diligent and timely in our house hunting, but now we are left aimlessly searching for a new place to live.
