8th May 2024 (1 year ago)Agent turned up one and a half hours late for property inspection, no phone call to inform me. When I called their office a women said she has asked the women coming to visit to call me but she didn't bother. When I challenged her she said she had not been asked to call me to say she was going to be late only when she has finished her inspection (who's telling the truth) RED FLAG. She also whined on about being in a meeting and that she had only been working there for a week or so NOT MY PROBLEM not interested in time wasters. I needed to contact my landlord to inform him of the poor service he is paying for and in then contacted PP. A long story short when the evidence was put to Simon Bacon the manager he had no choice but to apologise to my landlord but no apology to me for wasting my time. Always going to apologise to the landlord because he's paying him. VERY POOR appears there is no proper in house or external communication. Glad I'm only going to here for a short period of time.

Matthew was approachable and courtious and always responded to our requests for information, so I would say he did a pretty good job with this transaction which was quite stressful for us, we have now relocated and are enjoying our new surroundings :-)

Whenever we had any trouble with anything, you report it on their fault reporting page and then they get in contact with the landlord to get the issue resolved ASAP. The whole Preferential team have been fantastic but specially Emma K since I dealt with her from day one till the end of the tenancy, she is brilliant. to be fair they always fixed any fault in the property pretty quickly so thanks to Victoria for this. I did not deal much with the director Simon but he did some adjustments to my contract to be able to give the month notice from the day I exchanged contracts of the property I purchased so thanks for this. From our side we have kept the property always clean and taken care of it as if it was ours. I recommend Preferential.

She took enormous care over our sale, creating fantastic marketing and undertaking many viewings and negotiating the best possible price for our house. Her communication has been regular and thorough; from feedback on viewings right through to the end of the sale progression process. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her and her team for your house sale or purchase so if you're considering them, go for it!
12th Oct 2023 (1 year ago)The communication was shockingly weak. I had one phonecall in 3 months for feedback. The market has become slow lately but I expected more. Photographs were not brilliant or the write up. No Zoopla adverts.

30th May 2025 (6 weeks ago)A Truly Horrible Renting Experience... I rented a house through My Property Club, and it was by far the worst renting experience I’ve ever had in the UK. When my daughter and I first viewed the property, it didn’t seem too bad at first glance. I assumed, like most people would, that it would be cleaned before we moved in. There were two filthy fridges, but the agent assured us they would be replaced. After we paid a £300 holding fee for the checks, we were told the fridges would actually stay — take it or leave it. At that point, we were desperate for a place to live, and walking away meant losing that money. So we accepted the property. When we got the keys, the house was shockingly dirty — I've never been in such a neglected place. Even after 10 people helped clean it, it still felt filthy. Within a few weeks, the drain was blocked and toilet paper started flooding the garden. The tap was leaking and took over a month to get fixed. The roof was leaking and they never resolved it, leaving the house smelling of mold and damp constantly. Communication was poor. Every time I contacted the agency, they passed responsibility to the landlord and took forever to respond. This made life incredibly stressful. Several radiators didn’t work during a period when temperatures dropped to -12°C. We had a newborn baby and couldn’t even give him a proper bath because the house was freezing. Meanwhile, our gas and electric bills were through the roof. To make things worse, when they finally sent someone to look at the boiler, they broke it completely. We were left with no heating or hot water overnight during freezing temperatures. The only reason I’m giving 1 star is because the team was at least understanding during the moving-out process and tried to be helpful with the paperwork and flexible about the date.But everything else about this experience was a nightmare. No one should have to pay £1,200 a month to live in a house that is not even in a livable condition. Photos and video taken of house before going live on sale . Highly recommend very experienced especially when dealing with overseas buyers . 10/10 from me

25th Jun 2025 (13 days ago)I had a completely unprofessional experience with John Shepherd Estate & Letting Agents regarding a rental property in the Gravelly Hill area. On June 23rd, I submitted a viewing request through Rightmove for a flat where I fully met all the pre-qualification criteria mentioned in their listing, including income, move-in date, and tenant profile. Since I received no response, I went in person to their office on June 24th. They confirmed that my request was in their system and told me I would be contacted later that day to arrange a viewing. That call never came. I followed up again by email on June 25th, which was also ignored. Meanwhile, I tried calling multiple times during working hours, but their phone line appears to be permanently down. It always plays a message saying no one is available, with no way to leave a voicemail. This is not only unprofessional, it makes them completely unreachable. To make matters worse, the listing was marked as "out of market" on June 25th without any notice or explanation. I was never informed if the property was let, withdrawn, or if I was being considered at all. No courtesy email, no update, nothing. I made every effort to follow their process, I showed genuine interest, I visited their office, followed up in writing and by phone, and I met all their listed requirements. In return, I received complete silence and zero transparency. This is not just poor service – it is a total lack of respect for applicants. If you are a prospective tenant, I strongly advise caution when dealing with this branch. My experience showed a complete breakdown in professionalism, communication, and basic standards of letting practice.
